  1. Persona 4 is in my top three favorite JRPGs. There's so much about it I can throw praise at from the characters and the story, the music and the art direction, as well as, the gameplay mechanics. Persona 3 is good as well, though the only version of it I can stand to play is the PSP one. I like being able to give commands to the whole party. I have Persona Q but I've yet to actually play it. The Persona 4 Arena games are also pretty fun. I have physical copies of some of the Persona soundtracks as well, including a live band arrangement album. The music in these games is really great, I can't say enough nice things about the soundtracks. I wouldn't put Shoji Meguro on the same level as someone like Uematsu or Mitsuda, but he is definitely good at what he does.
  2. I'm still struggling to get a handle on Plague Knight's controls in all honesty, but I have only played through the Plains of Passage so far so I've got plenty of game left to get the hang of it. I keep screwing up the bomb jumps, mostly by not going in the direction I intend. I do like the changes that were made to the story to allow for Plague Knight to be the playable character. I hope the new music is made available soon.
  3. This game has been great so far. I've spent more time playing other people's stages than building my own, which is why I'm still at day two stuff now. But I did upload a couple stages: Fenix 1-1: 44FD-0000-001A-3EA1 Fenix 1-2: F1D1-0000-0027-81B3
  4. Another tactical RPG that I just remembered that you might be interested in would be Arc the Lad. The PSone titles were translated and released together by Working Designs as The Arc the Lad Collection and they are all available on the NA PSN store (not sure about anywhere else). They're pretty challenging, especially Arc 2, and the overall story is good even if it's nothing particularly groundbreaking. The soundtracks are enjoyable with a wide variety of character and battle themes in particular. The characters are what really make these games, especially in Arc 3.
  5. It's hard to come by now since it was the last game Working Designs translated before they closed up shop, but Growlanser Generations for the PS2 is pretty good. A lot of story battles have special conditions that determine not just whether or not you win, but also how successful your victory is (clearing a mission flawlessly earns you a Mission Accomplished while allowing some things to go wrong like one or two NPC casualties earns a Mission Complete). Some special conditions may include fleeing from the field without killing any enemy units, or avoiding hazards on the map like a collapsing floor, or escaping from a villain you are simply not powerful enough to stand up to at that point in the game, stuff like that. Growlanser II also has branching story paths that can drastically change the direction the plot goes, one of which includes joining forces with the final villain of the game and turning against your friends. If you can find it, I recommend checking it out.
  6. I'll be honest, they look closer to being some kind of sandwich viewed from the side than a chili dog to me. But as it's been said many times already, those are bumpers. Sonic was only into chili dogs in the 90's cartoons, the comics, and a short series of books I remember reading as a kid.
  7. I plan on making it again this time. Really looking forward to it.

  11. Chipped in a little myself today after seeing the Crystalis and Chrono Cross stretch goals. I hesitated earlier because, like what djp was saying, it wasn't clear whether or not Square Enix gave the Kickstarter the green light. Hopefully everything's good on that front.
  12. I had a thought this morning, if this were a vocal album, we could call it "Femcees - Open Mic Night" or something along those lines. Femcee being a play on FeMC which is for Female Main Character. Just a thought.
  13. Final Fantasy VII ranks at about my fourth or fifth favorite entry in the series so I'm not exactly dancing on the ceiling over this news. I'm glad they're finally doing it and all, I just hope the translation gets a serious overhaul and they don't shoehorn in too much of the convoluted Compilation of FFVII stuff from the movie and spinoffs.
  14. Eimear Noone, composer for Blizzard and main conductor for The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, just announced a Kickstarter called Songs of Zelda: A Link to the Celts. It's an album of Zelda music arranged in a traditional Irish style. I particularly liked how The Windwaker Theme sounded in the promo video.
  15. It's great to see Final Fantasy II's soundtrack get some more love around here prior to the release of Rebellion. The mix had a lot of energy to it and I thought the segment at 2:29 was a nice touch. I look forward to hearing more from you guys soon.
  16. Very excited about this news. DragonballZ was my very first anime so even though it's not something I've been watching lately (aside from TeamFourStar's DBZAbridged series), I am very eager to check this out when it happens. Hopefully they keep the filler down to a minimum.
  17. Awesome idea. This will definitely come in handy.
  18. I see what you did there. And thanks, glad you like that idea. It seems like the sort of idea I'm surprised hasn't been done on OCR already. Maybe someday down the road I might consider directing it if no one else steps up first, but right now I think I'd like to get a bit more experience in running things like compos before tackling something like that.
  19. Another thought on this idea is perhaps to drop the restrictions of just females from Final Fantasy and make it a women of RPGs in general EP/album. Or if anyone is feeling particularly ambitious, make it an album dedicated to any and all video game heroines. There could be ReMixes representing established women from video games like Samus Aran, Lara Croft, Princess Zelda, Princess Peach, Dixie Kong, Chun Li, and potentially so many others.
  20. Here are some sources from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax that might be worth looking into: Break Out of... -Instrumental Version- There are several other tracks as well, plus all the character themes from the first P4 Arena game are featured in Ultimax as well. Here's a playlist of the Ultimax-exclusive soundtrack. I hope someone finds this helpful.
  21. A long time ago, around the time I had beaten Final Fantasy X for the first time, I started thinking up a story for the next one and the main character of that idea I named Fenix because at one point in the story, he actually dies and is reborn as a new person with his previous self lying dormant inside him. It was the first username I went by on a message board and eventually I added "Down" to it to make it match up with the way phoenix down was translated in the SNES Final Fantasy III.
  22. Most of the characters I could think of had no real chance of making it or were already added to the roster (Rosalina, Shulk, Bowser Jr.). I ended up voting for Paper Mario.
  23. Not sure if this quite fits what you have in mind, but the first piece that comes to mind for me is . It's been years since I've last played the game, but if I recall correctly, this music plays at the end of the game as the aftermath of the final battle dawns on the heroes. Even if it doesn't quite match the criteria, it's still a very nice piece.
