Starphoenix got a reaction from psycosulu in Secret of Evermore - Introduction remix
Anytime I see Secret of Evermore, you have my attention. Great source selection!
On the production side of things, there isn't a lot of mud, which is really nice. Utilizing some more reverb and panning will help this mix tremendously. The synth arp that comes in at 1:03, in particular, would be nice if you either panned some of the notes or added slight delay effect with a pan.
Arrangement wise... You have interesting ideas, but everything plods along too much and suffers from a lack of dynamic range. 1:50-3:18 doesn't fit with the rest of the arrangement for a track being billed as synthwave. Try introducing different synth instrumentation into that section, or consider scrapping everything altogether and reworking it into something new. That's your creative call.
Check out Jorito's recently posted track or sift through some of Sir_NutS' catalog for good synthwave inspiration from within this community. You have a decent base thus far. Look forward to your future update!

Just a quick word: if I cannot produce a decent WIP for the Boss B track here in the next couple of weeks, I'm letting go of the claim in case anyone else wants to give it a go.

Since the album I did this track for is out, I can finally share this remix I did of Xenogears' Wings. Inspired by synthwave group The Midnight? Naah, not at all
Had a lot of fun making this. With all the collaborations, arrangement shuffling and things being quite different from the source but also still recognisable, I’d say this was an interesting experiment. I think it turned out well and can be enjoyed as a standalone piece even if you’re not aware it has its roots in VGM.

Worked on a remix of the dungeon theme for a competition. Happy with how it came out, but I'm a little worried I may be stretching the melody of the original bassline a little too liberally. If it's not too far off the mark, I'll try and see if I can clean this up into something submittable for the panel.

    Hey guys

Thanks everyone for continuing to support this idea!  I know it looks like this is going nowhere, I've been sidetracked moving and building a little studio at my new place and I think I'm finally ready to start pushing this forward.  Glad to hear that you guys are already working on your songs.

At this point, I think it's a good idea for us to get it down IN WRITING who is working on what.
ALSO: I agree w/ RidiculouslyGarrett, let's aim for 10-12 tracks. Keep it simple but not too small.  A couple of you have reached out to me on Discord to help with arranging the project, I replied so we can get this going.

As for further replies, let's try to actually solidify which songs we want to remix.  I want to be careful not to get too exclusive, but let's try to think outside the box and not remix stuff that is overly done already in this genre (for example, there area million Great Fairy Fountain lo-fi remixes out there already).  Let's make these 10-12 tracks count!

I'm going to be thinking specifically about what tracks I will personally take on today and try to post back by tonight.  Right now we're in "planning" mode so let's plan well and get this thing moving!
Let's get minimum 1 representation from the core Nintendo series' like Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, DK, and Metroid (just for example

As of now we're looking at something like this for a track list:

    1. (Zelda)
    2. (Mario)
    3. (DK)
    4. (Metroid)
    5. (Pokemon)
    6.
    7.
    8.
    9.  -
    10.  -
    (11). -
    (12). -

With all that said, throw your hat in the ring, let us know what you want to claim / work on!

    Appreciate it man!
Going ahead and bumping this up for review. No better way to receive feedback then by actually asking.

Congrats everyone on some good mixes, and especially Chalis for winning this round! My apologies for not getting in my vote/feedback within the time period. I’ve been away on vacation since Thursday with a group of friends.
Thanks to everyone who voted for my track, despite it being the least conservative of the group. Lol Had a lot of fun arranging the track, so I’ll probably kick it over to the WIP boards.

I'd go ahead and take the plunge. My experience with 20 has been mostly bug-free, and I feel the workflow enhancements are worth the upgrade.

For the record, I have not forgotten about this project. Have about a minute and a half of some decent stuff. I'll try to clean it up and get it posted up here for some general thoughts/opinions over the weekend.

Hey, everyone! It's been a while.
Thanks to those folks who have been looking in on me to make sure I haven't died. Still kicking and thanks for the updates!
I know I haven't been doing great at this lately. Last year wasn't a wonderful year for me, but this year I have no excuse - I've been behind and I'm just being slow about trying to keep up. I could say that depression has gotten the better of me, I could say there are several developments in my life I'm dealing with, but really, I just haven't been making the time a priority. That being said, this project means a great deal to me; I think we have some great folks on board, I'm proud of what we have so far, and still excited for where we are going - and a likely reason for my depression is the lack of my own progress on the project itself. So, I'll be recommitting myself to this again - it's time for me to stop sulking and get back to work!
    ----
So, here is what I see I have to do to get things to current:
Update front page and Project Overview - I've received many reminders about this. I will have this back up and running this week. WIP Spreadsheet - I have some new updates to post here too, but I need to confirm permission to post from a few folks. Will update this week as permissions come in. @TheChargingRhino - It is time-consuming to keep all this on Drive as well as the project Box account, and considering how my time has been lately, I'm going to keep it all on Box moving forward. Sorry for this, but you can PM me if you are having trouble accessing.   Checking in with folks - I'm checking where everyone is in the next two weeks. No pressure for updates at this time - that would be hardly fair of me - but I am wondering how folks are. Some of you I've heard from recently, some of you I haven't heard from in a while. Please let me know where you are with your track - feel free to reach out to me if I don't get to you first! Updates
@Etzaen has been working on some art over the last year which I'd like to share with the team, but I need to figure out the where and how first. Stay tuned for more on this. Our back covers are being produced NOW! I've received the first drafts from my guy and they are looking good. I will post these with the rest of the art when I figure out format. Of all the things I've been asked about on this project, the narratives have generated the most interest! So, by popular demand, 6 of 8 scripts are complete and I will have the rest done in time for March. I need to refresh myself on this part of the project and get the scripts proofread before we start recording, but hopefully I can get folks to start doing this for me by the end of March. Will advise as this progresses. Open voice roles are still available to claim! @classic_gamer_76, please PM me on this when you get a chance. I need to confirm some things for Star Wolf parts. ---
Due to my own absence and timing issues, I am no longer optimistic that the project will be ready for submission when reach our July deadline. I think that with a little effort, we can still finish the project by the end of September, but I'm wondering if we should push this to January instead. Please let me know what you think, on the thread or with a PM, on whether pushing for September is something folks think they are capable of.
Thanks again for everyone's patience as I figure my stuff out. More to come as things get under way.

Haven't worked on anything yet, but I can start up a project this weekend. Still tossing around whether to tackle Gnat Attack or the BGM 2 music.
