  1. Just got back from it. I wasn't particularly impressed. I also had trouble with Bane's voice...I think it would have been easier to understand if it wasn't so overloaded with bass. Batman's was a bit better, but still difficult to make out sometimes.
  2. If I remember correctly, LT was collecting WAVs/FLACs from any remixers who have them for inclusion in the torrent, so at least some mixes should have them when this finally comes out.
  3. Hey guys, I've googled this several times and have been unable to find an answer. I'm trying to have my electric guitars fade out into an acoustic section, but everything I try sounds like shit, they really muddy things up. I'm working in Reaper and I've tried using the volume envelope, as well as editing the files in Audacity, but have not been able to produce any results that I'm happy with. Does anyone have any tips for doing things like this? Is there a special way to do it? I've heard plenty of songs that do it well, but I don't know how...
  4. Very nice work! Your vocals are beautiful.
  5. Hmm, I'm not sure about what could be improved...honestly things seem to be working pretty well right now Either way, I'm still listening!
  6. Not sure what else I can do, I'm pretty much burned out on lyrics, unless there's something else you'd like me to do.

Oh! But I said I'd help write those track descriptions. Sorry, I completely forgot! If those still need to be done I can lend a hand.

  7. Sorry, I don't use Facebook :(.

  8. Yeah, this is really well done. I don't know the original so I can't comment on source usage, but it sounds really cool. Just out of curiosity, why isn't your OCR artist page linked to your forum profile? You are the same dannyshock yes?
  9. Ah, makes sense. Looks like a really good roster. I'm excited!
  10. If you guys haven't heard CHIPP's Valkyrie Profile remix yet...you have to, it's amazing.
  11. Just wondering: Since disk 3 is so short compared to the other disks, is the tracklist going to be re-distributed amongst them?
  12. Haha, really? That's hilarious and awesome! I was wondering what they were actually... Lol, isn't it more of an "Inspired by" piece than a remix? Ambient pieces like this have a hard time getting past the judges from what I understand I'd definitely encourage you to do something with another source though. Amnesia and Silent Hill have great soundtracks!
  13. Wow that's creepy! Really nice job with the soundscape though, especially the first minute or so.
  14. Nice performance! I think that's the first time I've seen an autoharp played, it's a pretty cool instrument. Great harmonica playing too .
  15. This sounds great, I'm really looking forward to the final mix! I want to offer to play whistle for you but unfortunately I'd need an F which I don't have...
  16. This is a really nice arrangement, the harmonies/melodies you added are beautiful! Great humanization too. Everything flows really well and there's good variation in the velocities. The only thing I'd change is to make the crescendo at the end a bit more obvious. It doesn't quite feel like it's building up as much as it should. Also, is it just me or do the high notes between 0:10 and 0:17 sound kind of muffled? None of the other notes in the song sound quite like that to me...
  17. Exactly. Obviously this would be a much bigger deal if you were forced to pay for it.
  18. I'm only familiar with the Valkyrie Profile games but I love those soundtracks (As you probably know from your tri-fecta thread ).
  19. I just sent you a PM and then read the first post...which clearly states not to do so until July 17 XD. Sorry!
  20. Oh good, for a minute there I thought I was going to have to go through the legal system every time I wanted to record something. On a more serious note, I took a look at the guide and I think it's pretty good. It's more of an overview than a comprehensive guide, but it seems like that's what you're going for. My only concern is that it might be difficult for a "newb" to piece together all the bits of information since there are a lot of individual sections that, while fine on their own, are kind of all over the place (Recording coming after mixing and output for instance). Then again, maybe not...either way I think re-arranging the sections would make it easier to read. Isn't it the other way around? Or have I been thinking about it the wrong way this whole time? I also found a few typos: Drums are usually the instrument getting layered, since fat beats need fat sounds. The classic example of drums layering would be to combine a bass drum with punch and click with a bass drum with lots of low frequencies (aka bass). The audio interface can come in a lot of different forms. Some simple ones have an input, an output, and connect by usb. Others can be built into mixing desks and feature dozens of inputs and quite a number of outputs as well. SOme will say an audio interface is the same as a soundcard, tho I go by the distinction that the soundcard is inside your computer, while an audio interface is only connected to the machine (by usb, firewire, or other means).
  21. Wow, this sounds really cool. I know there are more novices than stars at this point, but if there's an open slot in the future I'd love to do this.
