    Can't even tell you how much I fully support this (not just because of OCR Big Band, but I'm also in the process of getting something similar to this set up on a larger scale for a different genre , and I enjoy seeing the different forms of collaboration around this community). For "serious singing," I'd love to contribute for baritone or ambient falsetto male vocals, but I'll probably lay off on any lead parts because I don't think my funk vocals will blend much within a group setting. ;P (lemme know if you need any demos and I'll pm you) I can think of several singers around here (vets and new) who would be perfect for this, but I'll let others chime in instead of speaking on their behalf.

    well, just from looking at the thread title ("BJ") I actually thought this was going to be a list of bands/musicians who had similar incidents as Danny Brown. (if interested, slightly NSFW). that wasn't a happy ending though. There was no moral lesson or resolved conflict, and that denouement was weak sauce.

    man... bummer about Emu, but I'm under the impression that everybody's been dealing with some IRL business (I'll tell you why I've been ninja lately, but I'm waiting for a confirmation tomorrow morning). So yeah, I'd give it some time. That project kicks way too much butt to be brushed aside, so I'm sure he's just takin it to the streets on his own time. ^_^

    And of course, for any collab, you know there's going to be tons of gratuitous horn parts and "aaaawww yeeeeaaaah" vocals all over the place, right? But yessir, we must combine forces.

I chose to take Sigma's idea and go full-on g-funk with the beat to give it a "gangster" feel. to-do list (things we're already planning for the next wip) (DONE!! 7.8.13): -obviously add second verse vocals to continue the narrative -3:59-4:49 is subject to change after I get more vocals from Sigma, but I'm strongly thinking this should remain as the outro -I'm going to re-do all of my vocals and probably add some singing hype/background vocals throughout. I'm clearly going for a Nate Dogg approach, it's just hard for me to find that sweet spot between soulful and chill. -might edit the percussion and bass, but for the most part the main synths are done - I'd like to incorporate more of the original Gelato Beach saxaphone melody and bass sliding thing any suggestions and crits are welcomed and appreciated!     Give me till about Monday. Several Branches of the family tree came earlier than I expected, and I'll be out of town till about Sunday morning.

    I feel the exact same way about this as I do for the "Uncle Ruckus" movie (Boondocks)... as in, this looks okay, but I'd rather have them just focus on the main series rather than branching out into [unnecessary] film territory. hopes are low as shit.

    Yeah, I figured things were being revamped. I'll mostly be listening to the other wips then, but I ain't laying a finger on my track again for a long while (I've mostly been making adjustments based on everybody else's overall sound anyways; so I don't want to step too far out in another direction and when everybody starts working again my track ends up like "whaaaaaaat is this doing in here?").

    gonna pm you G-Mixer my idea in a few days, but first I want to clean up and re-record the horn parts since it's outdated (imo) so you can see where I'm going with it. pu_freak, I dunno if you're digging/eyeballing Slider, but last one's a rotten egg... you better hope I'm not off next weekend, otherwise this shizzzzis getting DONE IN THREE DAYS! *note to other project directors who may be lurking: don't kick my butt. I'ma catch up with the other stuff too. I just can't say "no" to Slider.

    can't elaborate right now because I'm off to sleep for waking up early tomorrow for work, but you ladies and gents let me know if Slider keeps on getting hot potato'd. It was my original choice before switching to Inside the Castle Walls a while ago, so I've got an old wip that I can revisit if need be.
