  1. no doubt! i was really blown away when i first heard it. i still listening to it now that the compo is over which i would say is a good sign.

  2. agreed there. but i hate rail shooters. so theyd have to do pretty well to make this worth the buy. Edit: agree, with the shirt bit.
  3. wtf game is that?! im so happy with this thread. so many ridiculous opponents.
  4. I just wanted to let you know that i really enjoy calm of sweden. you should take it to the workshops!

  5. ive often heard one of two things on this topic: 1. the room is more important 2. in the end you just have to learn whatever monitors you have, because none of them end up being TRULY flat. just get lots of mix feedback and listen on numerous things ( car, ipod, laptop speakers) to see how it translates I dont know how true either of those are, so take it with a granule of sodium chloride. Ive also heard that the yamaha monitors are probably the best you can get without going into the higher price range. I just managed to get my krks for a hundred or so less, and since theres still some Vsts, and other gear i want, i figured i may as well go with these instead and just learn the flaws before someday moving up to some adams or something nicer.
  6. ill get mine in tonight. i thought we were doing that two week vote thing
  7. What are some goofy enemies that youve run into during your years of gaming? ridley wings make you giggle? koopas face got you lolling? post it here! one such enemy for me is the Ghirofelgo from shinra mansion in final fantasy 7. aside from looking like a mutant fabio, if you damage him badly enough, he keeps falling off the rope hes swinging from and will try to get up but fall again. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ghirofelgo_FF7.png also solt and peppor were two of the most enjoyable enemies in chrono cross.
  8. ive heard that the 6's are good for the price point. otherwise i would just say go test them out of theres a store near you and then just research the top three best sounding ones in your price range, and then go from there. i ended up buying the rokit 6's
  9. I agree, I used ubuntu for a few years before I got my macbook and I really enjoyed it. my only issue was that I managed to crash my system trying to install a psx emulator. I thought reaper was Linux native?
  10. ReMix- https://soundcloud.com/jesse-mitchell-3/denial-of-power-seeking-power Source- This is my first place entry from a few PRC's ago, and I figure if its good enough for first, its good enough to be taken to the workshops! also feel free to correct the genre, i think its breakbeat, but maybe its Dnb?
  11. whoa, mindwanderer is a linux guy! way cool! what distro do you use?
  12. its pretty easy in ableton. compressors have a sidechain tab that does it in a few quick steps ive heard the "multiband sidechain" vst is pretty fun. you can sidechain different frequencies and do some other crazy stuff.
  13. Subbed! It was a really hard round and i started pretty late, but alot of solid advice from Kuolema helped me pull through. Excellent first round as a star!
  14. voted! that was a tough vote! alot of interesting interpretations of the theme. Edit: thanks hoboka! i probably got a little carried away with the sidechaining there. it was the first fun effect i learned about when making music so i probably abuse it a little >.>
  15. we have a chibi cid randall in the works!
  16. i suppose i should claim cid haze before someone else does though since i have an idea for him. ill get on it right after the rwts is done. and ill keep you updated on whatever that artist gets done.
  17. almost forgot to post my bonus mix , its in though. glad to see such response! these should be fun to listen to
  18. you should post some baby pictures when you get some congrats
  19. seems like theres some timing issues. you should try to record it into an actual mix, it would be easier to give good feedback that way. personally i dont know much about guitar technique, so a video doesnt really work as easy
  20. yea , the bogus followers . i just got one. i only have like 8 followers so i was all excited until i realized it was some sort of ad for porn sites. gross, but it does boost follower count, they seem to delete themselves relatively quick though, so its useless in that sense as well. i might wait until i have a large buffer of updated mixes before i use the free month of pro to update my songs.
  21. keep up with it, its a really nice DAW! i decided to use it since i enjoy the dual view system. it helps me start out an idea using loops i make for songs, and then i can kinda go from there. not as versatile as logic or something else, but thats ok. sooner or later ill get a secondary daw for more complex stuff. i just think live sets are fascinating
