  1. Awesome dude, it's lookin' good that I'll be able to say hi at BitGen this year, so see ya then if all goes as planned!
  2. And, it's here! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-7th-guest-infection/id416849801 Go grab it while it has that special launch price baby. Yeah.
  3. Ah, more Jazz Jackrabbit love, I like! This did make me smile, brought back memories, and I like that my friend Alexander Brandon is getting some love. A couple criticisms though, if ya don't mind... for one, I would have liked to hear the lead synth change up, rather than maintaining the same sound throughout the track for so long. I would have also liked to hear some more creative liberties taken with the melody, once it was already established. Ya know, you've played through the theme once as is, now have fun with it, ya know? The joy of using those types of synths is that they're great for screaming, wacky solos. I felt the percussion could have used some more variety too... the groove was nice, but maybe try some rides instead of non-stop hihats, some alternate snare sounds... that kinda thing. But that's me. Still, a nice mix, fun, and from a game that has a lot of possibilities. Good stuff. - Mazedude (And yes, the S3Ms weren't that hard to find within the game package, but ya know, not a lot of good if you don't read S3M files.)
  4. Attention 7th Guest fans! The microscope puzzle from the original game is getting some boosts, and is coming as a stand-alone game to the iPad. Teaser: Article: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2011/04/04/the-7th-guest-microscope-mini-game-getting-its-very-own-app/ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/notes/trilobyte-games/announcing-the-7th-guest-infection/209112285784502 Oh, and might I add... the game includes original music by none other than... Mazedude. You can hear a snippet of it in the teaser. They're telling me that the game will be out sometime this month, so stay tuned!
  5. And hey, look at that, ya beat me. Congrats on 3rd place dude. http://retrocityrampage.com/remix.php I guess an obscure tracker homage to a famous 90s musician isn't gonna win me any competition, but hey, I still had a ton of fun making it. And I finally got my Virt on! And the 1st place winner there is pretty sweet... took a while to get going, but it does pay off nicely.
  6. Dang Nutritious... that's a pretty killer arrangement there. Great work!
  7. Anyone else here play the relatively recent "Clive Barker's 'Jericho'", for PS3? That game was insanely intense, and had some crazy scary moments even by grown-up standards. I loved it.
  8. Got my entry on there - http://soundcloud.com/groups/retro-city-rampage-remix-competition/tracks - in a delightfully retro tracker genre for y'all to enjoy.
  9. Ah, good times! Congratulations to Kunal for all his hard work, and excellent composition. Hopefully this will lead to more game scoring opportunities for ya dude. Oh, and since people are asking... yes, I helped a tiny bit. I wrote the intro script (done deliberately to be retro, campy, and ridiculous), and provided the voice of the general, while Norg brought in a hilarious 50s-style President voice. All in all it was a lot of fun. Enjoy the game, enjoy the music; oh, and try to get to the ice stage so you can familiarize yourself with the track I remixed.
  10. Ooh... me likes the IT personally (as I still use trackers). And, let's see if I can convert this to a MIDI quick-like... it'll probably be pretty messy given the chops and volume effects necessary to make chips cool, and won't have the pitch bends and stuff... but will it help people decipher the notes? I hope so. http://mazedudemusic.com/Retro_City_Rampage_-_Title.mid And yes, this track is quite insane... may have to try my hand at this with some equal insanity.
  11. Ah... just finished my track. More Mazedude weirdness, on the way.
  12. Ah... feeling the love... http://gamergyrl.com/news/heroes-vs-villains-will-melt-your-face-off/ http://www.squareenixmusic.com/reviews/matt/heroesvsvillains.shtml http://www.destructoid.com/the-bad-dudes-take-on-oc-remix-in-epic-musical-clash-193667.phtml ... and we're LOVING that so many of you are getting into the "battle" aspect of the project; by all means, keep the reviews coming! ~ Mazedude
  13. This project was a blast to put together, and hearing it in its entirety here, I freakin' love every moment of it. Even though I heard this came together every step of the way along with all the WIPs, I've put the finished product on loop here for the past several hours, and it's still an amazing listen. Recipe for an amazing remix project: 1. Take a whole bunch of talented remixers 2. Put them at each other's throats so they really have to ramp up the talent 3. Enjoy the result!
  14. Hah, wow I thought I had everything, but even I hadn't heard the final version with the vocals until today. Crazy, and awesome. Love it. This one really grew on me; at first the metal aspects really threw me off, but now, I love it. And it's cool when music can make you do that, learn to appreciate the unexpected. Great job!
  15. Enter the Shredder... hell yeah. So many memories with this one, also from a franchise that has received seriously small amounts of love on the site. And a truly difficult piece to rip to "shreds" on the guitar, so awesome job dude. Would love to hear this one live.
  16. I gotta say... I love every track on HvV, and even saying that, this is by far my favorite. So fun, such a wonderful style with the clavi, organ, and trombone all in there... and from a game that hasn't received enough love on OCR. Awesome work my friend.
  17. And... finished the Saren remix. Good stuff. Still need to fine tune the mastering, but it's damn close.
  18. For shame, all you self promoters. Posting your own websites. Geesh. C'mon. Anyways, there are plenty of amazing remixes that aren't on OCR here: http://www.mazedudemusic.com But seriously, don't forget the following: http://thesmashbrothers.com - kickass EP on there http://ktriton.com http://theoneups.com And the Retro Remix Revue work on iTunes is pretty awesome too - http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/retro-remix-revue-vol-2/id330888824 - Mazedude
  19. LOVE IT. Great mastering by Diggi Dis too, I can hear the difference.
  20. Just a quick shout out to all that the project is coming to a close nicely, all the little details are being finalized, and we're looking forward to a launch very soon. And to whet your appetite, here's a teaser of the artwork, developed by Randall Drew.
  21. You all have extra fun for me too; I can't make it this year. Next year most likely.
  22. Hey all, and Happy New Year. My friend Brynner (my co-remixer on the Fallout 3 arrangement) has asked me to spread the word regarding his new album; for a while there it was only available for sale via iTunes and Amazon and such, but enough time has passed now that he's got the entire thing up on his website for free. And I know how much everyone here loves free music. That said, if you're into industrial music, you may enjoy "Turning the Page", available here: http://thesovernty.com. Have fun and be safe, Mazedude
  23. Takin' a break from doing some music here (something I always like to do and get lost in on Christmas Eve) to wish y'all a Merry Christmas! Have a good one!
  24. For all who haven't heard, The 7th Guest has been brought back for the iPhone and iPad! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-7th-guest-for-ipad/id407814889?mt=8 So for all y'all who never played the original on PC, I recommend checking it out. Great game, awesome puzzles. And there's a pretty nifty surprise in the end credits too, I might add...
