  1. Well, You're actually posting in the wrong forum lol. This song is from the movie and was written by the guys from Lords Of Acid. It was never used in the games to my knowledge. That new MK is a damn good game I must say.
  2. Being a massive fan of symphonic rock and metal + playing in a band that does that kind of music I, just had to check this thread out. Don't force it. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. I'm not a master with mixing so I can't really comment on that but what I think is holding this back is composition, timing and tone. No offense, but if you used a real guitar for this......burn that thing. Plus that trumpet type thing you have going sounds terrible. Currently, you don't really have any rhythm (drums needed badly) and the guitar melody has weak phrasing, feels dissonant and it's buried. Most of the time, in Symphonic Rock, the rock elements are up front and the orchestra is in the background. Unless it's leads on strings or piano. Then it's up front. This has good potential IMO. If you add some double tracked rhythm guitars, drums and balance out the instrumentation well, and maybe try a new melody this could be very epic. Most of these bands use the minor scale, harmonic minor scale and phrygian dominant modes for their melodies and riffs. Check out these bands. I consider many of them to be masters of symphonic rock/metal and a great source of inspiration. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPV8tc5Ec7c - Def give this one a listenhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RMJXoEap3g In most all of those links, The orchestral and synth elements are usually in the background and are sometimes few and barely audible at times. It's also common for the guitars to just stop in certain parts and the orchestra takes over, then when the guitars come back the orchestra quiets down. Like in that last link, I didn't even notice the piano at first in the chorus. In the third link, there is an arpeggiator in the intro. Listen close. Hope it helps. Keep on rockin' Mickomoo
  3. The Flinstones are an important part in both TV and Animation history. It was the first animated sitcom. It's also one of the most successful cartoons in history. How can it not feel relevant?
  4. Family Guy never was really funny. American Dad is awful and I've never heard of anyone actually watching an episode of The Cleveland Show. The show that seriously needs to GTFO though, is The Simpsons. There's a series that's been run into the ground and straight to hell. It hasn't been funny for like 10 years. The only episodes I ever watch are the Halloween ones. Even they sucked horrifically for several years in the 2000s because most of them had nothing to do with halloween anymore. I mean, one was about Homer running for president.....wtf does that have to do with Treehouse of Horror?
  5. Holy Christ, my dog looked at me like someone blew a dog whistle when that sine wave started. Serioulsy, WTF is with that Sonic rape picture? Why?.....just why?
  6. I seem to recall a thread very similar to this a while back. Anyway, though I enjoy music from all genres, I mostly listen to and create Metal music. I also do electronic, classical and pop quite a bit too. I'd say that reflects my somewhat rebellious personality. See, in Metal music, there is a lot of elitism out there. Lots of people refute any other genre. I don't. I've even been called a "fag" for doing genres other than metal =/ I think personality is pretty much everything with music. What I listen to often depends on my mood though. If I feel all mellow, I'll usually turn on some psytrance, classical or jazz music. I know that lots of people would describe their mood as "high" when they're listening to psytrance type music....I also really like mythology and fantasy artwork. So alot of those metal bands that sing about dragons and stuff are cool lol. I'd say a big thing about my personality in music though, is that I love anything that sounds dark and haunting. I have somewhat of a dark sense of humor and all that. Music that reminds me of Vampires, Castles, Witches, etc. Especially classical music that would fit well to those themes. Castlevania music too! That really doesn't help me fight the stereotype that Transylvanian people are all vampire crazed weirdos though. Seriously every time people ask me about my family, I tell them about how most all of my family is from Romania and they instantly start making Dracula jokes and talking in a fake accent.
  7. Indeed skill does make it tough to balance fighting games. Which is why I don't think they ever will make a truly balanced fighting game. In my opinion the only series where some characters were blatantly designed to be miles ahead of the others is Marvel Vs Capcom.......I doubt there's ever been a day in which someone playing as roll actually beat Iceman or Magneto.
  8. Strippers totally dance to the Tekken 5 soundtrack.
  9. The guest characters should be from Samurai Shodown =P So intense there's only time for just one W.
  10. What was unbalanced about Soul Calibur IV?
  11. Man it's a good time for fighters. That new Mortal Kombat is blowing my mind. I never liked any of the past MKs but I love this one. The only thing I never liked in Soul Calibur is the ring outs. I don't want to win by knocking them out of the ring! I wanna beat on them till they simply can't take it anymore!
  12. That last bit is almost exactly what I said and they got pissed lol
  13. I recently got into an argument with a band I really respected. I have some of their albums and I love their music. They do not play live however. They were bitching about....wait for it....music piracy and how's it killing them. The band relies almost entirely on CD sales to make a living. While I don't support piracy and I wish more people would buy albums and not doing so does effect us musicians in a negative way, there's not really anything you can do to change it. So I believe we must adapt and find other ways to make money with music. For example, I'm excited because I just did music for a game. It's my first one. I got paid for the songs I did and I get a percentage of sales of the game. Basically, what are some ways you think people can make a living with music besides just selling CDs. Things that come to mind, playing gigs, selling merch, scoring games, movies, tv etc. I mean, Authors/Writers don't make a living by just doing books alone. Let's brainstorm.
  14. Well it sounds cool and spacey. However, the source is rather obscured in your version so far. I actually wouldn't know what song this was a remix of without being told before hand. I realize it's a work in progress though. The intro drum beat catches attention and then it ends.....then come pad effects and stuff like that which goes on for around 3 years before the drums make a return.
  15. Hey, I was wonderin' if it was possible to either delete or merge my other account http://ocremix.org/forums/member.php?u=42597 I use AngelCityOutlaw much more around the net and I like it better......I didn't realize that you could actually request a name change. Sweet feature!
  16. This is a work-in-progress though. I'm talking about the stuff that currently exists. Yeah, Mordi should totally finish it though. Make a killer outro!
  17. Now with some guitars and a piano part. I decided screw doing solos. I always do solos. So I came up with a cool little piano melody instead.
  18. That sounds sexy yet haunting. I freakin' LOVE it. Seriously. This is one of the most interesting songs I've heard in a long while. Regarding the part where the vocals first come in......that's perfect IMO. The song's got a sort of.....spy movie feel to it. I'd really like to attempt something like this myself. This tune really inspires me. In all honesty, I'm really having trouble thinking of something about this that I didn't like and I've listened several times. If you're ever up for working on a song together, let me know. I'm not a master of the mixer though. I'm more experienced in musical end of things. So some other users may be able to point out flaws in the mix itself that I probably wouldn't notice. Regardless, I enjoyed it.
  19. 16 seconds.........lol It's pretty sweet so far in my opinion. It's got a bit of a old time, whiskey drinkin' rock feel to it. FINISH IT
