  1. I recently just beaten Tomb Raider: Anniversary on PS3 (got all the trophies) and couldn't help notice how good the soundtrack was, specifically the main theme. I decided to search this site to see if any remixes were made for this series only to find exactly one. So is there any remixes out there of this series? Perhaps a nice acoustic guitar rendition, heavy metal remake, or soothing piano piece? As beloved as this series is, the musical side is severely lacking, though I guess the lack of music played during the main game could be to blame.
  2. This is quite the remix. It is tad bit silly with the lyrics and the middle section with the guitar solo coupled with whistling just makes it even more hilarious. It has a spaghetti western feel that suites the song surprisingly well. Even though it's short, it's just the right length that it doesn't overstay it's welcome as it could lose it's humor if it dragged on too long. I look forward what else this artist has in store with other robot masters.
  3. This is one of those remix that I keep gravitating to as I bob my head back and forth in it's sheer awesomeness. It's been awhile since I took a real listen to this song and feel like an idiot as I half-haphazardly dance around to that bass beat. Prototyperapter, you are one crazy but awesome dude to remix Cheetahmen II.
  4. This is a song I had on repeat for awhile. Since I am always drawn to the musical genre, I had to embrace this further than normal. I love the beginning piece of it feeling somewhat mellow then the transition into the hardcore part. It oozes great change ups that keep it from being too repetitive and the piano piece was a nice surprise. Overall, I really enjoyed the remix! :3
  5. I was listening to this song on repeat while at work last night because I couldn't get enough of it. This song is simply beautiful, crazy, and energetic. If definitely feels like it could be played within a movie version of this game. (Hopefully it would be animated if one should exist.) Within a contest between Kefka and The Joker, Kefka would pretty much annihilate him in every department, literally and figuratively. This song pretty much cements that notion. Awesome work Steffan Andrews!
  6. Noticed some teams are having difficulty coming up with names, here is a few I think is the best I came up with... Mega Buster Bros Rollin' Buster Joes The Wily Squad and the one that sounds bad and good at the same time, Kalinka's Angels. The Kalinka and Krew is so full of strange win.
  7. When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought you named it FF: Crystal Crashers. (Final Fantasy + Castle Crashers = A game I wish was real) May I offer a suggestion? Since some of the games don't have an actual theme to certain characters, using a specific song from the soundtrack could become a good idea. For instance in FF1: Battle Scene = Warrior of Light's Theme Chaos Temple = Garlands Theme Gurgo Volcano = Marilith's Theme Floating Castle = Tiamat's Theme In FF2: Battle Scene 1 = Firion's Theme Battle Scene 2 = Maria's Theme Last Battle Theme = Emporer Mateus's Theme Something simple that gives certain games (or characters) in the franchise an equal opportunity to be picked. I don't think Cloud or Cecil have themes of their own either.
  8. So, anyone picking Ring Man for this compo? This is his moment to shine... or be chased by various woodland creatures. Man, he can't catch a break...
  9. I don't think I've heard this song remixed before other than the Pokemon Reorchestrated tribute album. I do know it was updated more than once due to the remakes but an actual remix I've yet to find. BTW, a gym leader tribute album would be a cool concept of a possible collab album by remixing the town they are in. Just a random thought I had while stuck at work.
  10. Bought it and I absolutely love it. I had on repeat as I worked last night and listened to it during my entire shift. My favorites is Chrome City and Mystery Gift Radio. Definitely an awesome album.
  11. Because everyone loves you Mew... I really hope this new legendary isn't called Mewthree. Hopefully Game Freak has more creative naming than just add another number to Mew. It is obviously another attempt at cloning Mew (Why? The first successful attempt went awry. Sure let's just make another clone...) I wonder if this Mew is going to be stat similarly with Mewtwo or has any real significance to the plot. Badass design though.
  12. This remix illicit two two things, the Pilotwings 64 soundtrack and a mental image of what "Yoshi's Lounge Bar" would look like. I definitely enjoyed this mix and love to hear the finished product when you are done with it. Since I don't have any musical production experience, I'm just going to agree with Theory of N.
  13. Oh man, this project has me excited but I get the feeling the announcement of the FF3 project kind of makes this one overshadowed a bit. So far its looking to be an awesome album, especially looking at who decided to contribute to it. I think it's safe to say that I'm one of few that actually enjoyed the soundtrack and hope for a remake in the style of FF7: Crisis Core. I know it will never happen but I can dream...
  14. I really love this track, it was one of my favorites in the Harmony of a Hunter Album. It has such emotion to that I can't help but be moved by it. I look forward to what else that you create Pyro Paper Planes.
  15. Got mine this past friday. Hyrule HIstoria is definitely a great tome to read/look through that anyone should pick up. Kind of disappointed that some Zelda titles have gotten more coverage, mainly Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks, than the others but I've kind of figure that would happen given the nature of typical art books regarding video games. (World of Warcraft did this with their races concept art.) When I get the chance to actually complete the Zelda games that I missed, I'll definitely look through it again. I would love to see Nintendo do this with the Pokemon games. If they do, I hope each Pokemon and Gym leader gets a page dedicated to their concept art with some inside info on their inspiration and keep each book to each generation. One could only dream...
  16. Wow, this game is looking pretty good. The only starter that looks appealing to me is the fire starter. The grass one looks too much like Oshawott and the water one looks like Mario when he's in a frog suit. Definitely, digging the cel-shaded art style of these games. Is it just me or does the male character model look a bit like Egoraptor?
  17. Consider an eyebrow raised at this development.
  18. Really digging these tracks, particularly Shnabubula's piano rendition of the sewer level. I wasn't really fond of that track in the game and find this is quite surprising. Maybe I should look through more Dwelling of Duels entries to find some more of these hidden gems. Perhaps one day there would be a project of sort that would include this games ost but I can settle for these, for now. I think this is the game I've probably beaten the most as I remember beating it as every turtle and difficulty setting. (Konami code gets you the ability to select difficulty.) Not sure why Raphael plays differently in this game and is difficult to master.
  19. I'm currently aware of the remix project of Turtles in Time and Hyperstone Heist but I've noticed the lack of TMNT 3 mixes in many fronts. The two that are posted I really love and I would like to know if there are more that I might have overlooked through the interweb. The tracks I would like to hear mixed is Scene 4 - City of Half Shell (I think that's what it's called) - Scene 6 - The Technodrome one - And lastly the first level At the Beach -
  20. I always viewed the music from Chrono Cross to be astounding album to listen to and glad to see more remixes done from this game. This mix reminds me why I love it so and the violin just makes this song pop in a way I didn't expect. Plus, for some reason I'm picturing this song in a Lord of the Rings type setting as it gives off the same atmosphere as the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring.
  21. A Final Fantasy character theme compo would be interesting, however I think their are a lot of characters that don't have themes for one reason or another and may have to deliberate on what constitutes as a character theme. The NES/Famicom FF's don't really have character themes and may become left out as well as the MMO one's. The Environment Battle sounds really great as it could potentially create interesting results though I think some people might become somewhat overwhelmed by which environment to choose from as there are tons more environment themes in one game than character themes. If there is going be an environment based remix battle, have it centered through one franchise would be best route to take like the Sonic one earlier this year. RPG's would probably benefit the most in this style, especially Pokemon. Man, a Pokemon remix battle... I don't know what it would be about but it sounds awesome in my head... Perhaps just gym leader vs gym leader or town vs town (shrugs)
  22. A mash-up remix compo idea...how about having a video game character theme remix battle. Like Tifa's theme mixed with Ridley's or one of the many Bowser themes mixed with one of the many Dr. Wily themes or against a lesser known character. I'm sure this would produce interesting results though I get the feeling having to restrict how many characters from a franchise may be necessary so it remain diverse enough. Or how about villains vs villians remix battle. Dracula vs. the Great Mighty Poo! The possibilities are endless and perhaps even bizarre.
  23. I agree with this statement 101%. However, I feel that out of the all the Mega Man games, the 4th one is somewhat cursed as I have yet to see a remix of the epilogue, Ring Man, or the first stage of Dr. Cossack. I suppose I've haven't digged hard enough but truly, you can never have enough Mega Man.
  24. I kind of surprised that no one mentions Daisuke Ishiwatari's work on the Blazblue soundtracks. Definitely my favorite rock album that I have ever heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQ2_vVmpXmw&feature=plcp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkLImIt4LZ4&feature=plcp My personal favorite song from the first soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le6UB6d3f0s&feature=plcp
  25. I have only two suggestions and they are both from Mega Man. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01025/ (If you haven't really found it on this site yet.) The other is without a doubt a perfectly suited song, the epilogue song for Mega Man 4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLpSDQGNY3k
