  2. Usually news like this would really excite me, but nowadays I have to ask...why should I care until I can actually play it?
  3. Sorry, irrationality irks me. You mean the part that was taken out?
  4. I'll say yes for DMC. It has a certain art style and atmosphere that wasn't in DMC3...a lot of people prefer the more mature and elegant Dante as opposed to the young punk in the prequel (I personally love both). Also yes to Shenmue II. Aside from the voice acting (which still wasn't as "where can I meet some sailors" bad as the first one), everything about it was just incredible. Beautiful BEAUTIFUL locations, people EVERYWHERE, solid story, gorgeous soundtrack...all in all an amazingly immersive experience. Even started the whole "interactive cutscene" craze picked up later by God of War, RE4, Prince of Persia 3, etc. The only thing that might not have been utilized too well was the combat system...it was obviously very deep (considering Shenmue was originally meant to be a Virtua Fighter RPG), but there wasn't a whole lot of motivation to explore the nuances and train your skills.
  5. I say Bangai-O is a must-play on one condition: you have to use the other control scheme. Then it becomes a great shooter with tight controls, incomprehensible but hilarious dialog, and that classic Treasure charm. And nothing beats the thrill of waiting until the *very* last second to release your super attack and see your hit counter skyrocket into the triple digits. The graphics are slightly below average for a DreamCast game, but with the sheer number of enemies and projectiles flying everywhere it's understandable why you'd need that sort of processing power.
  6. If it turns out the two goals can't be reconciled, I think it would be understandable to institute a "once it's gone, it's gone" policy, while at the same time not threatening to bar the ReMixer from submitting *new* work (unless perhaps it becomes a chronic problem with that particular ReMixer).
  7. I'm pretty sure djp's question was rhetorical... I think you're reacting more to the *idea* of a policy than the actual policy itself. Take a chill pill and actually go through it phrase by phrase, and if there's anything you disagree with, list it in this thread and explain why. djp is a reasonable person, things can be worked out. If you actually are disagreeing with the actual concept of a policy...well, I guess you're free to opt out and feel good about randomly "fighting the power" for no reason if you want. I think OCR started out that way, but quickly evolved into something different from the "just for fun" sites like VGMix quite a while ago. That's arguably what started the whole exodus in the first place. P.S. I think AD wins hard. Frawress victoly.
  8. I think djp made a good point: ReMixers don't always stay with the same name (*cough* McVaffe *cough*), so the site URL is probably the safer bet.
  9. I think by "people" you mean "one person." Maybe two. Everybody else seems to have dealt with this pretty calmly.
  10. You should, because there's a considerable chance that it's due to a misunderstanding, or is something that can be negotiated.
  11. It's probably loli hentai. Or semen. Maybe both.
  12. It was kinda buried in a different post, but I found it.
  13. W00000T! Muchos gracias for the heads up, Coop.
  14. I'll have you know I've actually slept on that piano more than a few times.
  15. I think that's pretty much it. I don't have an actual picture of the piano lab I worked in, but it wasn't anything impressive. And it'd be kind of hard to get a photo now since I've graduated.
  16. I think that if a ReMixer throws a tantrum, his judgment has already been clouded by his emotions and he's not really going to be swayed by some fine print he probably hasn't even read. That's why people always change their minds *after* the fact. And what's the point of punishing them at that point? That said, it's not so much that I mind djp refusing to put old mixes back up, as that's kind of a hassle. What I'm bothered by is the threat of rejecting all future submissions...that in my mind crosses the line from being practical to throwing out the baby with the bathwater. If this is in response to the infamous J.D. Harding incident, well...how often do things like that happen, really? I think extreme cases like his are few and far enough in between that it wouldn't hurt to just humor them. If it's really that big of a deal to remove someone's remixes...then don't remove them. It solves the problem just as effectively, and without resorting to exile.
  17. I'm not sure I see the point of what seems to me is essentially a "grudge clause." What would djp accomplish by rejecting people who WANT to come back?
  18. If you actually explained why you think Kingdom Hearts should be on the list, it would be added.
  19. So how many Titans have you guys lost so far?
  20. I'd only add the "ugly" ones. Rejecting avatars based on not liking the game's art style is akin to rejecting ReMixes based on not liking techno. That said, I've decided to take your advice and announce my candidacy for avatar judge. SAY NO TO PUBEFROS! VOTE DHSU!
  21. Yeah, I was gonna link to his videos too. It doesn't surprise me at all that he's Mr. Singapore (okay, maybe a little). But seriously, the guy is built.
