Oh... Woooooow, guys, this is super dope. Such folk tunes are always love-or-hate for me, and this one is certainly what I can listen, listen and listen repeatedly for a loooong time   Very beatiful stuff with a smooth soothing vibe. Nailed it!

Debuted this arrangement back on 9/30 with my jazz/VGM group, The Hard Modes (I'm playing sax). I counted it in a hair too fast and ultimately rushed the melody--the groove definitely could have benefitted from us laying back a bit more. My excuse is going to be that this was the second-to-last tune of the show and I was amped up from how the night had gone to that point
Also, fun fact: the groove was influenced by Bernard Purdie's work on Steely Dan's Home at Last.
If you'd like to read more about the project as a whole you can also check out my website. Thanks for listening!

Yesterday I received the full album eval from staff. If you're an artist on the album, you should have received it in your inbox. The good news is that we're on track for release later this month. Even better is that we still have a bit of time to make the album even better than it already is
    Anyway, stay tuned!

We are imminent. All relevant artists are now confirmed, and we have something resembling an ETA. Other albums have popped up in our queue that need attention (here's one hint: "spoopy"), so there'll be a bit more time 'til release. I will call it "November... high probability". We're taking two weeks to finalize, and if all goes well, we're seeing 10 tracks and major props to Naofumi Hataya!

Black_Doom got a reaction from Dcapo89 in Chrono Trigger ~ Secret of the Forest (Piano and Flute Arrangement)
Could be a bit longer, though, but that's my only complaint here. Really love the original, and you did an awesome job!

    Hey guys,
I recently completed a little arrangement of "Secret of the Forest" from the SNES class Chrono Trigger. This piece gets covered and arranged fairly often, but I decided I wanted to try my hand at it. A lot of the best covers for this piece either tend to be either a full replication of the original instrumentation or a solo piano piece, so I decided to meet somewhere in the middle and approach it as a piano and flute piece. The result is something that I hope is simple, approachable and a little elegant, while still retaining what made the original piece by Yasunori Mitsuda so special. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we loved working on it.

Downloaded this one... and listened to it 5 or 6 times in a row  Jorito's stuff is always pure joy, and this track may be one of my personal favorites. Especially love how he managed throw in some sweet percussive elements besides typical swingy-bouncy glitch-hop beats - they really made the groove even more killer. Awesome job here!

So very glad you like it! In a fun twist, this is what I got back from the original composer:
    --
"Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to do such a wonderful remix! I thoroughly enjoyed the new approach from start to finish. I am humbled and grateful that you honored one of my favorite compositions in such a beautiful way."
~ Aubrey Hodges, Quest for Glory IV Composer
    --
Very nice to know that in answering what seemed like one request, I actually honored multiple wishes all at once.
Oh, and if anyone cares to read the extended write-up and listen to the reference/inspiration material, I have it now at http://www.mazedude.com/remixes/space-garden

So we've sent the album off to OCR staff for evaluation last week. Now it's a matter of waiting for their feedback
In the background we're hard at work finishing off the track order, the artwork and miscellaneous bits 'n bobs. so that we can make the release as smooth as can be. No final confirmed release date as of yet, just stay tuned for any updates on the regular OCR channels!

I've been on a 90's pop kick lately, so I decided to do a Shawn Mullins-inspired arrangement of Star-Stealing Girl
    https://www.sendspace.com/file/8n2jwe

Stuff I still need to do:
-Re-record most of the guitars (the clean rhythm guitar will be replaced by an acoustic)
    -Add vocals/lyrics (ya rly)
-Spice up the bass and percussion
-Spice up (and hopefully live-record) the piano
    -Write an ending
-EQ, compression, general production stuff (at which I'm WAAAAAY out of practice)

Mirror Image is a reinterpretation of the soundtrack to Nintendo's SNES masterpiece The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
The music of the Legend of Zelda games has always been an integral part of the game experience, even being able to play musical instruments in the games themselves. We felt that A Link to the Past deserved more attention than it already got in the game music community, since many of composer Koji Kondo's greatest and most iconic themes originated from this game. In celebration of the game's 25th anniversary, we set out to honour the legacy of its soundtrack by creating an arrangement album while also staying true to the awesome diversity that defines the remixing community. We hope you enjoy it!

    What did you expect?
If people aren't "following" something, it's because they don't want to and it's not even particularly useful to be honest. There is also the matter of the forums being borderline dead — nobody is asking how to follow threads.
Therefore, this thread (and your choice of words) comes off as "Here's how painfully easy it is to follow threads, you idiots."

Oh, this is totally awesome. There's nothing too fancy here, yet it is an absolutely top-notch work - it even may be one of my favorite tracks by Mr. NutS. Just can't stop listening to it again and again! I'm a huge fan of such melodic house-ish tracks  The tune is incredibly catchy, especially love its subtle melancholic/dreamy vibe. The instrumentation is pretty neat as well - really love the sweet synth lead, nice bass and solid beats. I also dare say that in my opinion some vocals can easily fit this song and make it a bit more interesting - I can certainly imagine a vocal version of this track Don't get me wrong, though, I can't get enough of this stuff, it's simply amazing! Keep it up!  I hope you will make some similar ReMixes at some point
