  1. I decided to boycott Nintendo and never buy their products again, but since this app was free I checked it out. And it's actually pretty goofy for trolling and getting your character to say ridiculous things. I spent a lot of time trying to edit the voice to get it to be as funny as possible, but it's a lot of work. I've posted stuff on there I'd never post on FB because people could actually see it on facebook. So if anyone saw me on there, that explains whatever it was. ;)

    Aaaaand now it's gone.

Haha, it was fun for a few days. Deleted it though!

  2. Thank you friends. :) To help bring this to life really is special. It's the last big piece of the tri-FF experience (in hindsight that would have been a cool title for a triple-album). To work on these sibling albums for FF NES Trilogy has been a great experience and I appreciate everyone who helped create this whole thing. After losing ff9, it took working with so many brilliant artists to even give me the confidence to try doing a large album again. (FF1 and FF2 are around 20 songs each, not all that large).

So in other words... gosh, thanks guys. You are an inspiration, and each WIP brings me much joy, like seeing a duck walking next to a pond.

OK, so we have an album the size of FF1 or FF2 already finished here. That's awesome. But we still have roughly the size of another album left to finish. (half done...)

But we can do it, I've seen it with 2 albums already. :)

  3. I'd be satisfied if the game got delayed a year and we just got the anime, the movie, the Audi R8 (jk lol) the mini-game, to hold us over until it came out. The sheer amount of content and the fact that it's all pretty awesome is really surprising. Square did an awesome job here.

Not to be a self-promoting butt, however I remixed that one song you guys might be hearing in some of these trailers, I don't think an official title has been released yet. But regardless, here is said mix. It's on the panel though it's been on there so long it's looking like they might reject it for being too loud. (qq)

You can pre-order the game already on the PS Store (gosh darn!) and it comes with an Amano pre-order theme... that plays music and has crazy clashing artwork that makes it so you can't read anything. That's awesome.

  4. There's no need to fight really... the bottom line is that they don't put as much effort into the movies, the screenplays, whatever -- because they believe the characters and world hold enough appeal due to being part of an existing property. So then we get game movies that are, by all accounts, subpar. As if Zack Snyder saw a game trailer and was like "These people wear costumes and there's action involved? This would make a GREAT MOVIE!!"

Which is my theory for what happened with Batman vs. Superman.......

...................but that's a whole 'nother thread.

  5. I'm gonna pay good money to see Michael Fassbender fall 300 feet into an assassination target, get up like he didn't even feel it, and say "requiescat in pace"

I imagine in this scenario the audience would go insane, popcorn and sodas would be flying everywhere. Women would begin weeping. Three more sequels would be announced, and the blu-ray pre-orders would go platinum

  6. My last comment here was a joke..... I'm not neaaaarly that arrogant, and I haven't submitted as much music as I used to, so odds are you will hear other people's stuff a lot more often. But for the stuff I do sub, I am going to try to practice and get my skills honed up again cause over the last year or year and a half, things kind of slipped while I was sick. I gotta get the skills honed up so they'll be easier to judge of course, and maybe start including source breakdowns again as well. No guarantee on that though.

  7. Games don't always translate well to movies. BioShock could. Sly Cooper is still coming. Ratchet and Clank is coming soon.

Assassin's Creed movie is coming soon, they were talking about doing a sequel. Half-life and Portal movies are coming from Jar Jar Abrams, but it'll be a while before they see the light of day. The deal for Halo fell through and became District 9, good movie.

Also National Treasure was NOT made in '84

  8. Kotaku isn't my least favorite blog, but I wouldn't judge it by standards any higher than blog standards.

Hayter is overrated unless you listen to him and his die-hard fans. Most other people I talk to who aren't die-hard fans are just like who the hell is that guy and why won't he just go to acting school?

On the other hand Kojima is also overrated. He's known for MGS series and its incoherent stories and subpar presentation per game.

So IMO they kind of deserve each other, so I can understand why Hayter is butthurt.

  9. Some really disturbing news.. basically, I have not been able to get in touch with Sir Jordanius for several months. I'm going to hold out hope that he returns but in the case that he does not, there won't be a new claim for "The Way to the Top". All we have is a near-final MP3 version of the remix, but no WAV, and no consent, so if he did indeed escape then it would not be included at all unfortunately.... bummer.. very disturbing news. Holding out hope that he's just on a very very very very extended vacation.

Still waiting on a lot of great remixes from a lot of great remixers. You guys. The album is like a cake with no icing. I hope you're happy with what you're doing to this poor cake. Put that icing on there. Come on.

  10. Are you sure you put this in the right forum? (Competitions?) Unless you meant for the games to compete for which gets better over time than the other games  That's a really difficult question though, because it makes me think of a game I really love, Bloodborne.. which I consider one of the best games on PS4.. and it was only not as good starting out because for me it had a pretty big learning curve and wasn't a fault of the game at all. There's games like Kingdom Hearts that start out insanely boring with fetch quests on the island, and stuff like that.

  11. Well the whole west vs. east thing, just because it's mostly western remixers covering far east material makes it to some extent western music.. There's also as far as I see, the issue of a lot of old VGM being chiptune and itself not having much of a Japanese sound. Even beyond the issue of not featuring adequately sampled/recreated erhu, shamisen, and other stereotypical instruments, the writing style to some extent gets lost -- and there are a lot of imitators that seem to have blurred the lines a little bit in the oversaturated chiptune scene. So now you don't even know where a piece of music originates.

But yeah I think Jahan is in the perfect position to bring a Japanese flavor to some metal for MAGFest, of course it's up to him not anyone else. Erhu and shamisen sound amazing in metal, and some kotos too. Not a lot of people are doing that.

I might actually go to MAGFest again if it's to support Jahan and his music.
