  1. Oh yeah, wow. I never even realized that while making this. Wow. That is uncanny. XD
  2. I had a lot of fun arranging this. I joined my school's jazz band this year, and after playing a few retro tracks, I just sat down and made my own chord progression that sounded kind of like a 70's whole deal. And then I thought, "What if I put the Mario theme over this?" And I fell in love. I definitely went for the more funky weird vibe with this one. Let me know what you think! I think I finally fixed it, I made lots of edits to try and make this one better. It should be pretty near completion if not already. Most recent version:
  3. I feel as though I've completed this, but I have not had any official feedback, so I'm gonna leave this on ready for review right now. I've been working on this for a while and I finally got around to "finishing" it per say. I really like how it turned out because I haven't done anything this extensive before. I think it turned out pretty good, of course it probably has its flaws. I'm no master at production, so I might not be able to point those flaws out, but maybe somebody better at this can. Overall this was just real fun to make either way. The remix comprises of the Title Theme, Hyrule Field, and Zelda's Lullaby from Ocarina of Time. At the end, I threw in a little bit of the Astral Observatory from Majora's Mask underneath Zelda's Lullaby, because why not? This is the most recent version:
  4. Yeah, I've heard from a lot of people that Garage Band is the best start when integrating into DAW's. Because it's affordable, and you'd be surprised with what you can come up with when a lot of hard work is put into a project.
  5. @Jorito Aw sweet, thanks! Those short little explanations really helped a lot. Anything I can do to learn more is such a help. I'll be sure to check out that resource. I've got a long way to go before I master all this stuff. Heh. Master mastering. I'm not funny. But anyways, thanks!
  6. So, I'm fairly new to music production, and I'm unfamiliar with some of the terms/edits/settings stuff, and I wanna learn more about it. Sure I could just google this one, but I wanna hear from some of you experts. What exactly is EQing? And what does compression do? And lastly, what do sound gates mean? Is that just the dynamic between treble and bass, or is there more to it?
  7. @Nutritious Working on PC is probably much better than mobile, but I don't mind mobile if it's all I got. Plus, it's not like I'm trying to make money off of music right now, so it all works out.
  8. So, OCR, it's come to my attention that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE has done a remix of Bubbles Shining Over the Sea from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2. What the heck! That's the best song! I'd love to see a rendition of that. It'd be awesome. Of course, no guarantees but gosh this site needs it desperately. Thanks for considering!
  9. Hey, I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't have actual equipment. I don't have a setup. I just have my garageband app. I know. I know. What a pleb I am. XD But it's all I have and frankly all I'm gonna have for a while. So, you're not the only one that uses iOS tech. It works pretty well, though, for being an app. I've certainly learned a lot from the little I've done.
  10. Oh yeah lol. I've already done a lot of work on that piano. I switched it up a bit, added in the melody, some bass layering, and segways into a breakdown. I was thinking about adding another chord progression from the typical Fmaj7 Cmaj7, but it needs to be something that doesn't screw up the mood.
  11. So, first, let me start off by introducing myself... Hiya! My name is Garrett. I'm an aspiring musician. I don't have any equipment... But no matter, that's not stopping me from pulling out awesome remixes. (Though I'm not sure if they're OCR worthy). BUT! I'm working on a ReMix of Ocarina of Time's Title Theme. Yes, overdone. I know. But I thought I'd give it a shot. I want some advice, any advice or criticism. I'll take it. Most importantly, I really want advice on instrumentation with this one. I just wanna make sure I really nail this one on the head. So, tell me what you think of it, at least what I have done. And I'll consider the advice whilst making it. (I'm not nearly done, don't worry, this is just a very early build.) New link. This is what it's turning into. Any advice?
