  1. If someone wants to make one, go for it. It's not a compo.
  2. Yes, that is the point of CS:S. It's a good game that I'm very bad at because I've only played it once. I don't know why you're talking about MW2.
  3. I only initiated a vote. I played this yesterday; it was pretty cool but I feel like most of it is getting one-shotted by a guy you can't see and then watching the rest of the match. I guess it's a good game to play if you want to catch up on your reading or something.
  4. Arrangement is really tight; some awesome syncopated riffs on the source material, nice development throughout the piece. Some nice polyrhythmic stuff going on too (triplets vs. straight 8th basslines). Very solid dance track. YES
  5. Where my bassline at? *sigh* Despite that, it's a pretty solid track, and I don't think it's that sparse. The texture is fairly rich, if lacking in foundation. Nice beats, nice interpretation, not too repetitive. YES
  6. Sounds awesome but 33% is way too low. :\ I like the Mario 2 quote at the end though, that was cute. NO
  7. Not a bad ambient track. A good way to adapt such an odd source tune. Nice atmosphere, nice texture, nice evolution. YES
  8. Pads are too loud, piano is too mechanical, everything sounds far too dry. Putting the melody in the pads also makes it sound muffled and ill-defined. Not a lot of balance here. Arrangement is okay, but needs to take more risks with the source material. Things sort of plod along; need some more evolution in the texture. NO, resub
  9. NO It's the original with some rather expensive samples. The structure is the same. The only differences are the running arpeggios which have some kind of delay on them and some nice original choir countermelodies in the end, which are too little too late. A nice sound, but needs more personalization.
  10. There are some odd note choices here and there; I think it's due to the closeness of the left and right parts as well as melody notes not jibing with the arpeggio notes at points. Still, there's nothing glaringly dissonant, so it seems fine. I like the piece. It's well arranged and well performed. There's a lot of motion and evolution throughout. I like in the latter half where the left-hand part starts locking in rhythmically with the right hand part; it's nice when there's more going on than just arpeggios. YES
  11. kirbybias YES okay okay I guess I should vote for real huh? It certainly has a very in-game sound, but more like a modernized Kirby game than an older track. The texture is very spacey, like a chiptune that grew up to be an astronaut. Nice syncopation and embellishments; there are a lot of little things going on that fill in the spaces. Very cool.
  12. Joshua Morse does a lot of nice smooth stuff here on OCR. Check out Peter White (a guitarist) and Keiko Matsui (a pianist). I'm quite partial to their stuff. Rick Braun and Chris Botti are both excellent trumpet players who play a lot of smooth jazz.
  13. The multiplayer is wicked fun. Awesome weapons, great maps.
  14. My recommendation: there are daily deals on certain items, so if you have your eye on something at the sale price, wait until the very end of the sale before you buy it, because you may be able to catch it at a daily deal price.
  15. Anyone else get it? It's really awesome.
  16. I think this sounds great. Nice, chill background music, with some subtly groovy beats and a great synthy texture. Sounds aren't the best, but it's got a kind of old school feel that really works for me. Only thing I don't like is the ending. A bit abrupt. Otherwise, YES!
  17. No, sorry. Grand Maverick Battle will begin next month.
  18. I'm pretty excited about Chocobo Racing.
  19. Squeak Squad was fine. They're all good. Super Star was a good game, but people need to stop acting like there haven't been any Kirby games since then. Dream Land 3, Crystal Shards, Amazing Mirror, Squeak Squad, and Super Star Ultra's extra games are all excellent, right up there with Super Star. Personally I think Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland is much better than Super Star, but like everyone who puts Super Star on a pedestal, it's just the nostalgia talking.
  20. I dig the orchestral/chip blend. A nice full texture with lots of awesome syncopated bits. Great job adapting the source into such a groovy piece of work. CONGAAAAS~! I love 'em. YES
