  1. PM me a link. Make sure your remixes are tagged too with--at the very least--title and artist info. Titles should be in the following format: Your Remix's Title (Your Robot Master vs. Opponent's Robot Master) eg., Willrock sent me his track: Time Stopper (Cutman vs. Flashman)
  2. OCR doesn't allow links to sites that feature commercial soundtrack downloads.
  3. This place is a good community if you like those things. If you don't, you're going to get bored fast.
  4. You probably need to clear your cache to refresh the image. You are up against Time Man. The correct match-ups can always be found at the Bracket Page. The bracket image I initially posted was just a test; I scrambled it about two minutes before round one started.
  5. Merged a bunch of MAGFest threads together.
  6. PlayStation Portable. It's Sony's handheld system. Very nice piece of hardware, has a lot of awesome games. HMH is on my list of games to get. The Hero demo is SO FUN.
  7. Knock it off with the thread derailment, and with the tomatoface.
  8. Hey, knock off the "best soundtrack" debate stuff. Please stay on topic in this thread.
  9. Round One has started. Visit the link in the first post to see who you're matched up against. Remixers have ONE WEEK to produce a track that incorporates both source tunes. Mixes are due on Saturday, January 9, at 11:59PM.
  10. Hey guys. To anyone good with Photoshop: I need a jawesome banner for the tournament featuring the 16 competitors.
  11. Bitonal, huh? One of dem "tonals" is pretty much a sound upgrade of the original. NO
  12. Love that smoove bossa nova sound. I think the source is prevalent enough, and like previous mixes that stylistically rely heavily on the idea of improvisation, this one is solid in that regard. Also stopwatching stuff like this "1:31-1:36, 1:37-1:43" is just plain silly. Really, the 96th second of the mix doesn't count? I roll my eyes at you. I went back and listened to this one again, and I realize I was probably too lenient the first time around. I absolutely love this track, but the melodic/harmonic elements start to deviate from the source far too much. If you plan on a resub I'd like to hear more parts with the original more prominently featured. NO, resub
  13. NO It's really basic and really repetitive, with not a lot going for it besides the voice clips.
  14. First time in a while that I've heard SFX used tastefully in a mix. Pretty nice. Don't hear the source in here. Can another jooj verify? :\
  15. Maybe it's because I mixed the same source tune, but some of the chords sound off to me. Oh well. Yeah pretty solid stuff. Rockin' performance. YES
  16. Yeah this drumbeat gets really repetitive, to the point where it really...grinds my gears. hahaha get it But seriously, this mix, aside from some nice original writing where Larry pointed out, is pretty much a really nice sound upgrade. You gotta bring more to the table. NO
  17. I'm not sure what that hissing SFX is, or why it's there. Flute sequencing is mechanical, and the brass accompaniment is not much more that sustained notes. There's a lot more that can be done there; needs movement. NO
  18. I love me some FFV. Yipes, someone went FX happy. I'm a minute in and I still don't hear any bassline. This is some really basic stuff. You have a general idea of what kind of piece you want, but there's very little substance here; it's a lot of layers that don't really balance with each other. Percussion is pretty weak too. Needs work. NO
  19. I agree with this being drawn out. I think that for an arrangement that moves slowly like this, you really need more expressive sequencing and better samples. The strings are really exposed throughout the piece. Keep in mind that when you're producing a piece like this, you have to write to your samples. Make them work for you; you can't say "I'm writing a violin part" and just slap a violin sample on what you write; it rarely works out for the best when you do that. Think about shifting around your parts a little; strings are overrated! Try some clarinets! Just a suggestion. Needs work. NO
  20. Alright well, Doni, Zephyr, and Olarin all want to join, but I only have two slots (because Ella Guru dropped out). Whoever picks a Robot Master first is in. As for match-ups, I'm just going to do it randomly.
