I guess I didn't state it too obviously in my profile, haha. Either way, I reside in the Lancashire region, which you can definitely understand how much of a pain it is for me to travel to London in the first place o_O

In a way, Chimp is right on the connections thing. Originally I was afraid of making such connections in case I'd get rejected again, but if your heart's in doing something for the community, it's a great idea to get out there and see what impact it can make. You may be pleasantly surprised with the results too; in my case, Brandon Strader towed me back into being a community regular, helped out with gear suggestions and even got me to perform death metal vocals for a yet-to-be-posted track; OA and DusK got me to do piano parts for tracks they worked on; Hylian Lemon wanted a piano performer for an arrangement on one of his Zelda: Oracle albums; and Monobrow even saved an old track of mine that burdened me for years. And that's just the tip of the iceberg; at the end of the day, great connections can help you considerably if you want to be a part of the community. Otherwise if you're really distressed over the standards, like I knew I was when I was struggling to even get a second track on the site, a brief break from the community and working on other material could help you. In the five years or so between mix submissions for both "Time's Anxiety" and "Hogtied", I focused more time on doing things for myself, improving social skills in other communities, still listening to the odd OC Remix now and again while still looking for album opportunities and running the PRC for a while, and even developing video editing skills which transferred well to OverClocked University's MAGFest set last month. Sometimes a bit of non-literal 'soul searching' would calm you over in the long run. Naturally, past rejections did make me feel afraid of trying again. But even with recent rejections, I saw that if there was a way to refine the track according to feedback, then I'd be more than happy to try again. The judges are surprisingly more approachable than you think, especially within these past 3-4 years. As for the tweet, that was the first of four I sent over to Red Rum this morning. Let me get all four to fit the context: The last few tweets ended up summing the whole thing up rather nicely too. I could say more, but I'm sure most of the visitors to the thread have already stated other thoughts on the matter. Oh snap... someone picked some Knuckles Chaotix? Nice! This isn't saying that I'd be taking part in this one though, but as the host of SEGA Mixer Drive over on RadioSEGA, I am inclined to look into a selection of hot new releases each week. If someone does something killer enough out of Speed Slider, I'll be happy to play it on the show following the competition's ending. Make it a good one, all!

It takes a lot of staying power for a game that I thought I wouldn't like to be, well, liked. People already said great Steam titles like Jamestown and Rock of Ages, which blew away all expectations I had (although idk about you but the camera for Rock of Ages is bloomin' AWKWARD to use), and so it should be a good thing to mention other noted titles. New Super Mario Bros - So, it's obvious that I'm not really a fan of the Mario setting. I've always thought that with the pacing of the series in general, the tiresome concept of "saving Peach from Bowser" completely baffles me as to how people even baffle in and enjoy something that's pretty much been done to death on other systems. Alas, after some persuasion later, I decided to pick it up on the cheap and take it on vacation with me. And here's the kicker - Mario games are simply there to be FUN; something which I thought was severely missing in platformers of that day and age. Sure, the NSMB series eventually grew tiresome again after what I experienced with NSMBU, but for a while it was a fun take on Mario, with NSMB Wii being all the more INSANE with four players all at once! Crash Tag Team Racing - Didn't think Radical did all that great with the Simpsons games on the PS2, believe it or not. When I heard they were on development duty for Crash, I was scared; yet, I was even more scared with the character re-designs and complete change of concept for the kart racing after being used to the core concepts for Crash Team Racing / Crash Nitro Kart. And then when I heard there were platforming and shooting sections, I thought "what the hell, either change the name or I'm not accepting this as a legitimate racer". So naturally, I didn't buy it on release, but I eventually rented it for a laugh. Actually good simple fun if you don't mind the shaky presentation, though it did manage to set me up for the heaps more fun I got with Crash of the Titans when it came out a couple of years later. Sonic Riders - Thought it would be another generic Sonic title with skateboards. Yet as it turned out, the short campaign it had was tough, presentation was pretty cool and the soundtrack was extremely different from what I was used to (in a good way) - especially the track for Babylon Garden; hadn't had the panicked goosebumps from a single Sonic title for some time up til then Kind of older memories than most, but what can we do

I'm definitely up for that, and I know very well there'd be some others around the forums that would do that too. But one weird question: do we have to film ourselves giving these answers out, since this is a video documentary project?

About time you hooked this up, Mustin! I heard samples of Lucio's work through the album, and let me say he's definitely one up and coming artist within the hip hop arrangement scene. In fact, when the album came out a few weeks ago, I managed to spotlight his Sonic track in particular in a new remix release journal for RadioSEGA (This trend was since continued over into SEGA Mixer Drive, which is being broadcast there on a Friday night). All in all I was very optimistic about it, and I hope the added boost you stated here in the forums would help that and the rest of the album as well

Brandon, cue me in for the Prelude. If you want this to be more "different" from the FF1 and 2 albums, I should have ideas for that

Thought I'd ask this in here for those that run OCR's Youtube page. If it needs to be merged somewhere, then feel free, I guess. When I saw the recent mixpost for Super Dodge Ball "Almost Frozen" on Youtube, I saw that whoever uploaded it gave Monobrow first dibs. Usually, I'm under the assumption that the lead arranger (in that case, me) would be stated first, then the other artists involved; if not, is there a specific ordering on how you list the artists on Youtube? Please reply as soon as you can. Thanks

Since it's obvious the album's not going to get finished in time, I'd rather spend some additional time making mine actually sound GOOD and not incredibly rushed due to the crap load of pressure that's currently being piled on. But I do however have a concrete arrangement structure, and got things clicking in place. Now comes the thought of actually making it sound AMAZING, if you get my drift.

2012 was epic enough, and I feel musically I'm on a high enough note as I am right now. But here's some things I got to do for 2013: * Keep at it with my weight loss. I'm still a bit overweight in spite of last year's epic weight loss, so I think I can achieve going down a bit more. * Finish that PlayStation based EP I started last year. It was originally concepted more as a point of nostalgia for myself, but due to other commitments I never really worked on it much, and after 12 months only have 2 proper finished arrangements so far out of a possible 7. xD * Keep being musically productive otherwise; in fact, try and shoot for something at least every 2-3 months. Does what it says on the tin * It's cool to support yourself, but it's also cool to support others. I'm on the right lines with a forthcoming weekly broadcast on RadioSEGA, which I aim to see through a full working season and look out across the community for some great arrangements appropriate for the station. I'm also game to do some more stuff behind the scenes for OverClocked University as well, offering as much help as possible for any future endeavors they take. * Get back into work / college. Major kicker right there; I get redundant, I fight my way back into the job market. Slow start due to the Christmas period and recent illness, but I will make it!

Seems like it. I've kept notes on who was paired up with whom, and indeed there's 6 recepients yet to claim they got something - Capa, kitty, Koriantor, Obtuse, ToN and Xarnax. Every successful matchup has been confirmed except for linkspast's Santa, which still remains a mystery. o_O

I'm with the Temporal theme as well - makes it feel a lot less like a Wild Arms album (!) and definitely playing with the time travel theme the game had. I'm leaning more Divide than Duality though from the huge differences in styles between the WIPs, as well as emphasizing the stark differences between both scores.

Well, I definitely overindulged on Christmas Day, but my body seemed to react accordingly by falling sick the day after. o_O I've recovered though. Shame the gym itself is closed until after the New Year, but I should be able to make ways around that.

Well, didn't gain much this year but cool bits of the swag for me included: * A couple of mugs for my novelty mug collection (!); one with barking dogs and the other with Skylanders's Tree Rex * A fleece blanket with Sonic the Hedgehog on it * 5 episodes of The Sooty Show on DVD (loved that as a kid xD); bonus points for including the one with Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain teaching the drums xD * £15 to use on the PSN * A BRAND NEW CAMERA! Yep, the one I had was definitely getting past it xD Otherwise, was a quiet night in especially with all my cousins growing up. We still had some visitors in the morning though, and one of my grandfathers (my dad's dad) will visit us tomorrow as well. Happy holidays

Well, the collab with DusK was for "Ring Rink" from Ristar. I could recognise Rozovian's second track to be "A Wish" from Secret of Mana, Peach's to be obviously Zelda's "Kakariko Village", and HoboKa identified Mokram's track to have covered some Parasite Eve. On top of Coop's and JH's bringing theirs out in the open, that's all I know o_O

Think it would help that for the non-originals, it would be a good idea to have the source tunes in the comments somewhere so that we know what was remixed. Course, Peach's and Rozo's second one are kind of obvious already by title alone (!) but it would help if others step up too. (EDIT: Lol... as soon as I put the post down, JH put his sources for his mashup track. Nice!) That said, am hearing the album now! Happy Christmas everyone

And while we're on a tangent about Santa gifts... A candy bob-omb, a companion cube key chain (awww ) and Crash and Spyro's first GBA outings on one cartridge! Granted, I may have both games on separate carts, but this is still going to be mighty convenient! But this is what surprises me somewhat: were Shaggy and me each other's Santas?! On the night he received my gift, he then went on to gift me Super Meat Boy and the complete Lego Star Wars saga on Steam, and I assumed it was a token of thanks; whether that was part of the Santa package or not, that was also really appreciated!
