Did you ever happen to check their website?

Perfection? Really now... While nothing comes off as insanely wrong (aside from minor clipping here and there), there's absolutely nothing outstanding, nothing impressive, nothing worth noting, nothing that stands out in this mix. You have what sound like MIDI instruments with no TLC on anything, you have the same basic melody playing for pretty much the 3 minutes, and the mastering could have been better. This is basically a 'listen to it once, then forget about it' mix. There's nothing in it that would really want someone to listen to it again. There's nothing in it that says 'This is a LagunaCloud remix'. This is like plan old white rice that went bad. Sorry to sound harsh, but on a big ol painting campus, this is but a small black spot sitting in the corner. You have to do more, be more creative, experiment, etc.

as promised...

I'm sure Yoozer will jump at the chance to throw some input to this topic, in the mean time you could specify a little more on what you plan on doing with said synth. Do you want a synth with a lot of pad sounds? Is it more for Trance music? Do you want that 70's lead synth sound? Will you be using this live? Do you want a synth that comes with a keyboard? etc.

err... I meant that as a good thing. Like 'zomg, someone else is actually doing a nights remix, super awesome nice!'
-
zomgomg another nights mix. especially for a WIP, 320 kbps is not necessary. Render as 128 for wip, 192 (if you want) when completed. This just making downloading faster, etc.. I'm not 100% sure on what you plan on doing/what you're doing as of now, as your transition from one section to the next is....well, there isn't really any to speak of. I will say that I fucking love that e-piano sounding thing at the beginning. I like the overall first section actually, just need to tweak the sound and what not. The other 2 parts sound alright for what they're worth, I don't hear any NiGHTS in them though (then again, I only know 2 or 3 songs from the soundtrack). It'd be interesting where you take this though.

Needs more Chris Griffin.

AnotherSoundscape vs. Skrypnyk Two Heavyweights go head to head in a winner take all, fight to the death, children eating battle royale!! Fist will fly, snares will roll, kick drums will be rendered useless in this battle of complete IDM/Drill'n'Bass fuckery! The battlefield shall be played on the Forest Interlude. Come cheer on your favourite n00b to victory!!! Sounds exciting, doesn't it?

If only you requested the forest interlude...

If that really is the case, I did a little reworking. Compare. And sorry for taking down all the links, I just want to make sure this is 100% done before people start downloading it, and they don't end up with an older copy.

Your production sucks. The kick is waaaaaaaay to infront. Actually, I think it was badly recorded (if it was recorded. Otherwise it's just too loud.) It sounds interesting, but the overall production/mastering is really poor. Perhaps your speakers have no bass in it?
-
ya, the only way this will get re-subbed, is if the 2 notes I add are enough. and I removed the song from the site. Mainly because it isn't an OCRemix, and that song title sucks.

Your opinons on these Sequencers.

It's sad, because when you bring zircon's name into the equation, you're either have to set up a second morgage for your house, or be stuck and confused for years to come. Plus you bring up choirs and acoustic sounds, which will only hurt your wallet even more. -

I think this thread should give you all the info you want. -
Just to echo what Miku said, yes you can change tempo mid way through the song, you can edit a notes velocity (although your VST may vary), read Miku's instruction for the third question. As for the last question, the only ones I think would be very useful are WASP, Sytrus and Soundfont Player. PoiZone, Toxic III & Morphine are a little more technical, but they make good sound, so you might want to check the demos first before buying (that goes with all of them I should say...). Oh, and buy at least producer edition

uhhh...yea, that's pretty much the reason right there. -

As far as I know: Pro tools is really good for recording. Cubase (not sure which one) is excellent for midi FLStudio has a better piano roll then Reason. -
I noticed with the Edirol PCR-800, the outputs are all on the side of the controller. Depending on how you have things set up, that could be either good or bad. I have the edirol PCR-80, and I've noticed that some of the keys have gotten a little faulty (2 won't respond half of the time, and one doesn't seem to have any velocity changes). I've had no experience with the Axiom

This would be a good place to start browsing.

If they aren't remixes then sure.

I make description good. By that slow snare thing, I basically meant make the snare sound like it has a delay on it. A horrible worded example would be: KICK KICK SNARE......Snare.....snare.....snareSnareSNARE. Just mess with the notes Cutoff or Volume.

K, time for a sober review. Pretty much, the drunk side of me was right. There's a lot going on with no real substance. The little intro was pretty cool, but then it just sounds like a lot of default drums, what sounds like boobass, with little to no atmosphere. There's no real transition from one part to the next either. The mastering is a little weak too. I guess keep trying to do your own thing with this, hopefully it'll start sounding better.
-
A good place to start doing that is the OCRWIP section.
-
oooh, so YOU'RE alexhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I swear I commented on one of these versions. And I said something along the lines of 'holy shizzle those pads are fo rizzle!!!' The bass string in the intro I'm not totally feeling. Or maybe I am, it's just standing out too much. I like the pads more :3 . The first 24 seconds are pretty solid though. Then comes the drummage. They're cool, although I would suggest more panning, more processing, etc. For the first 2:04, especially if you're gonna keep it that long, you need to do more processing. Phaser/Flange different instrurments at different times. It'd help if you also add breaks to the drums. By that I mean slow them down, add a cutoff on a slow snare so it's like they're fading, then bring them back in. Play around. And there's nothing wrong with subliminal messages => . The transition at 2:04 is weak. Need a build up there or something. By the last minute of that section it tends to become pretty repetitive. Play around with the filter on the bass. Outtro, people will probably complain that it's the same as the intro, etc. etc. Perhaps play some sort of sine bassline in the intro? Help keep things interesting. So yea, over all cool but it does cross into repetitive side of things. Keep at it.
