I really hate to be the one that says this, but you REALLY have to stop posting. All your comments aren't the least bit helping LagunaCloud and you're more then anything giving false hope. This ISN'T mastered well. This DOESN'T have direction. This ISN'T THE LEAST BIT CLOSE to "OCR standards". As DeathBySpoon put it, this doesn't sound like a 'this is my first remix ever' kind of remix, which (especially if this is your first remix ever) is a good thing. The beginning itself scared the shit out of me, as I heard faint strings in the background and I decided to adjust to hear it better, only to get a head full of piano. The samples really aren't all that great, which doesn't help the cause. The trumpet causes clipping here and there. I was expect by 0:45 you'd bring some groove, some life, something strong there to keep the listener interested, but you killed it, only to eventually move back to the same pace as the intro. This relates to the 'no direction' because I keep waiting for something epic to happen, and it never does. This isn't orchestral, this is waaay waaay to poor sounding to be orchestral. This is lacking a shit load of orchestral sounds for it to be orchestral. I can't think of any kind of genre this would fall under either =\ . Hate to piss on your foot like this, but this falls way below anything. I can see where sabrigami is coming from by saying 'turn it into techno'. At least with that you can insert a beat at 0:45, and bring some spice to this pretty vanilla sounding song. However, if you don't want to do it, that's fine, it's your creation after all, but unless something epic is inserted into this mix, then all you will have is 45 seconds of potential and 3:24 of flavourless ice cream.

Final Fantasy VII - Mako Reactor (Trip Hop MIX)
Skrypnyk replied to Beoulve's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
There's no females vocals in this, and it's not reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeallly sloooooooooooooow. NOT TRIP HOP!!! Intro is good. The pads/chord you used is awesome and you should bring them more out! MORE I SAY!!!. As for the synth, in the beginning it worked as like, a lo-fi radio thing, but through-out the song it gets annoying. It could be a personal thing, but if you changed the sound to something a bit more smoother, perhaps spacier. Or, keep it, but make it sound like it's off in the distance (at the little break down at 2:33). It'll give it more ambiance too. As the song progresses, it tends to repeat the same thing in a different voice. From around 1:20 to 2:33, there's no real lead (besides the subtle strings). I can totally add something there in the form of psychedelic delayed programmed guitar. It'll sound cool, you can ask Overcoat =) . So after the little break down, it goes back in at 2:58. I say the break down could have been a little more emphasized, even if it's one bar before going back into the main part. Then when it goes back to around 3:50, it again, feels like it's repeating itself (and it very very well could be). Plus the part from 3:24-3:50 is really empty. It either needs something playing there, or you can simply do without it, a remix doesn't HAVE to be over 6 minute (although again, personal suggestion). As the song continues to 4:40, there's little to nothing in terms of development. You do change things up a little bit towards the end, which is nice. But from 0:12-5:07, you really have maybe 3 minutes of ideas down? Perhaps even less. Plus this lacks an ending (although again, easily fixable). So to re-cap, awesome intro. Great ideas (although I will comment nothing in terms of arrangement), mastered decently, you just need to toss out the vanilla parts of the mix, and spicy up the little bits. -
Zero Punctuation (Hilarious) Game Reviews
Skrypnyk replied to sephfire's topic in General Discussion
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD soc actually showed me his youtube videos first, then I found out about zero punctuation via his trailer. I believe I was there when there was manhunt. Either way, this guy is my fucking hero, and he needs to put more 'twing-twang' in his videos. -
hmm... my first impression was that the intro sounded exactly like the original, but the synths sound a lot weaker. Very very thin stuff. Then when the guitar (?) came in, I was again sadden by the sound of the sample, and didn't have much hope for this song. However, as I continued to listen, things became a bit more interesting...at least, in terms of the arrangement. The one thing, utterly destroying this mix, is either the mastering, the samples, or more likely, a combination of the two. An easy example is that the kick/snare lack any punch. Just watching the spectroscope in winamp, that line isn't jumping around the place as much as it could. I kept trying to hear a bassline, but couldn't, because it's soooooo quite in the background, I only started noticing it because of the high parts of the bass. This rice needs more BEEF. SAY IT WITH ME!! BEEEEEEEEEEEEFCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!!

I know Xerol will always be his #1 listener, and overcoat at one point was like that (untill he cleaned his stats). I'm the same, although a little less extreme...

This topic died because there was nothing left on the jdgfgts to suck. Why must you continue to search??

k, I think I'm kinda/sorta/maybe finished. Not a long song, and probably needs a bit of a touch up here and there. ...links at the top... yup.

Just to clarify... I don't say I hate the judges because I love them. I say I hate them because they a bunch of nazi pricks that rejected my epic Bubble Bobble remix. So screw them with a side of mayo!!!
