  1. Ha, I watched the US Women's volleyball team get served by Cuba last night. Those wily communists tore us a new one.
  2. Well, Sakurai got the extreme turtling part down. Now he just needs to make it fun.
  3. Hell yes. Fuck you, France. USA is amazing. I still love you Doulifee.
  4. So there were some interesting results from the latest big East Coast Brawl tournament, XII.E.S.T.I.C.L.E.: Not so much the people, but the characters: no Snakes in the top 8 at all, and no MKs in the top 3, although he did get almost every other spot.
  5. This has not been a good weekend for famous black guys.
  6. I should have clarified that I'm the ICs, and my opponent was Marth. Yeah, he fsmashed alot, but that's really all he could do on those TVs.
  7. This is a match of me playing at an anime convention a week ago. The rules were retarded (one match, single elimination, and there were free-for-all "pools" to determine the bracket), but it's a pretty good match nonetheless. I have to admit, this isn't me (or my opponent, who I know very well) playing at my best: we were on an HDTV, and the lag really does fuck with you.
  8. I got disconnected or something, Atma. Anyway, I'm about to hang out with the wife. Oh yes, I must shamefully report that I lost...to...Sonic. I mean, it's Atma's Sonic, but, it's still Sonic.
  9. If you're the kind of person who finds merciless, relentless rape funny. God, M2K won Melee Singles, Melee teams, Brawl Singles and Brawl Teams at FAST 1 a few weeks ago.
  10. Well, since Metaknight can be invisible indefinitely, it makes it nearly impossible to hit him (he may also be invulnerable during the Dimension Cape, but I'm not sure). Since tournament matches are timed, it is possible for a MK player to hit you once and then use this technique to stall out the rest of the match, and they would win the tie by percentage. This is going to be banned anyway, so it's no big deal. But it does make an already gay character even more gay.
  11. Ha, I just searched "Super Smash Bros. Melee" and got no results: http://www.cuil.com/search?q=Super+Smash+Bros.+Melee
  12. I actually read a really, really good DBZ fanfic a few years ago, where the premise was that Goku and the Saiyans had actually conquered Earth. I can't find it online anymore, but it was so good that I actually saved the whole thing to my computer.
  13. I believe they're aiming for 16-player online multi-player with voice chat.
  14. In all seriousness, I find it pretty telling that the two most promising Wii games shown at E3 (Mad World and The Conduit) are still looking for publishers.
  15. 1. My spouse first saw me in October 2005, at an event at our college. It was not until February 2006 though that we first spoke, April 2006 that we exchanged phone numbers and May 2006 that we went on our first date. 2. When I first met her, I wanted to date her. I didn't want to be friends or anything other than her boyfriend. 3. We'd pretty much decided we were going to get married after our second month together. 4. Yeah, we have alot of common interests. Any relationship, whether it's friendly or romantic, needs common interests. 5. Too numerous to go into, but the big one is that she's nice to people and I'm not. 6. Our love for each other and our love for our son. 7. Yes, but it really wasn't that bad. We already lived together, and she was already pregnant, so everything was already pretty much set before we said "I do". 8. Pretty much nothing. Maybe the "opportunity" (if you can call it such) to have sex with alot of different women, although I was never interested in that. 9. Yes. 10. I don't know really, you'd have to ask my wife. 11. Every night, after our son goes to sleep. 12. If given a sufficiently compelling reason, then yes. 13. Marriage is a wonderful experience, but nothing to rush into. Once you find someone worthy of it, it's the second-best thing in the world (parenthood is first).
  16. Here's the thread: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=182532
  17. It will because of it's potential abuse as a stalling tactic. I'm fairly certain of that. As for the beta-testing...a friend of mine said to me that they should have had Mew2King test Brawl before they released it. I said to him that it would never happen, because Sakurai is openly hostile to those types of players, and he (and Nintendo in general, actually) aren't interested in selling games to M2K anymore. They're trying to sell games to M2K's mom, and she could care less about this kind of stuff. Sad but true. Melee had it's fair share of glitchy stuff, but they just didn't anticipate it. This time, they just don't care, because it's not supposed to be a tournament game in the first place.
  18. I don't think people are making a big deal about it in terms of system-selling capacity or any kind of numbers, but moreso as a demonstration of the lack of confidence that developers have in the PS3 being the best choice for them to make money. There was no question last generation that PS2 exclusivity was still a gold mine, and that's far from the case for the PS3. Now whether that's due to this generations' high game development costs or the PS3's relatively small user base is entirely speculative.
