  1. Funny you should mention... My track was officially COMPLETED about 15 minutes ago, and I'm slow-rendering a final right now. One down, several more to go.
  2. Go figure: after reading this and before following the link, I thought to myself, "c'mon, can't be worse than Puffy's 'I'll Be Missing You'..." turns out I was right. The punchline is that Sting endorsed it, and even performed it with them at least once.
  3. Good news is: finally back to work on my track since Saturday, and I'm at a good 98%. I'm pretty certain of finishing this week. Also have a track title: "Caos".

  4. Seizing your opportunities is what it's all about. Sucks for us, but Taucer's always full of win. I'm gonna call this the 'Serious Monkey Business Curse' and wish you and Wes the best of luck.
  5. I wish! FFV thing is imminent! But I did get cake at work. Love you guys.
  6. Goddamn, been wondering what Sivak's been up to nowadays. Shouts to him.
  7. Freaky.............. and all the music in these clips are plucked straight from my nightmares! Something else on his channel that's interesting... This clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLe2rkKERk8&feature=related The audio used seems to have come from the work of a certain other "video editing" maven:
  8. I should make it, but my worry is not being able to stay too long before leaving for home. I'll decide what to contribute when I arrive at the O tomorrow morning.
  9. Naughty, naughty; I don't speak snide. Those arguments wouldn't exist if VF was anything close to irrelevant.
  10. Someone on youtube commented about the boatload of cash that guy could make mass-producing them. I was gonna say "not much at all"; far too much of a niche product, no matter how many think otherwise, and he could make a lot more just performing on it. Not new, and it may not beat anything Shnab might have set up for himself (I'm expecting), but he's got an excellent set of features for a DIY project.
  11. The matchup we should've had was Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter. No one was comparing the pedigrees between SF and T; it was the T and VF camps arguing with each other.
  12. Ditto, but with no video and no audio. There should be a near-final WIP from me in a couple of days: the mix is pretty much done, with a tweaking of many, many notes left to do that will need to wait until during Otakon. I'm just glad to be able to reach this point.
  13. An agreeable position, and I offer FLACs on my site as well - I've always seen that as a satisfactory enough solution - but I'm not seeing "heavy", and I'm not believing "tortured".
  14. Letting you know I'm gonna try my damndest to make this, especially if I think I can get away with taking a sick day from work the next morning.
  15. You know, it looked "ranty" to me too after reading it! Not my intention, but the tricks they pull out there do annoy me. Changing the title would eliminate most of my problems with it, but it's another example of what they do out there: "So why not 'Kung Fu Kid'?" Because "KARATE Kid" is a guaranteed sell. Funny thing is, I'm not all that big on the original film, but the way they went about this just looks insulting to me.
  16. Some of you know how I feel. I honestly can't think of a worse pandering job than Hollywood has done with this film, and that's saying a lot. I don't care how good it might be, it was built from the ground up to sell maximum tickets, no matter the actual resulting quality. The world's biggest star can't play a kid, so let's get the world's biggest star's son. Guaranteed sell. Now let's get martial arts film legend Jackie Chan to play the Miyagi character. "But he's not Japanese. And he doesn't do karate." So what? We'll set the thing in Hong Kong, and the kid will learn kung fu. "Kung fu is not karate." So what? People have been confusing the two for decades, anyway. "So how do we explain 'Karate Kid'?" We say he does know a little karate, but it won't help him against bullies. So comes the kung fu training. "Are you serious?" Dead-ass. Jackie Chan is guaranteed sell. "You are aware there is another martial arts film legend named Yasuaki Kurata, who is actually Japanese and actually knows karate." Ya-who? Doesn't sell. I'm still laughing about Miami Vice, and The A-Team is looking like another one, and now the Tiny-Bit-of-Karate Kid looks to play audiences for suckers? This is the closest I've come to recommending a street bootleg, because they're not getting a dime from me. EDIT: "Hong Kong"=Beijing.
  17. Ditto; spent too much time improving the sounds, and I'd like to program more notes now. I did get the brush kit, and it's just right.
  18. Not from table 10, because I had Jack&Cokes in your honor, after recovering from the Remy!
  19. It's been a long time since I was surrounded by so many fun and interesting people. I don't think the ceremony and celebration could have gone any better. Mazel tov and Best Wishes to a gorgeous couple.
  20. The only tip I have time to offer is: any credits for content used should be as unintrusive as possible, i.e. not in the middle of the visuals, and not in giant, blocky text with gaudy colors. Good progress so far.
  21. (2:23 - That's how it's done, Deia.)Gameboy MM2 seems to suffer from poor sound programming, but the compositions themselves aren't screaming "ass" to me. That Captain Commando stuff sounded damn close to a winnar. Something about SNES Capcom games in the mid-90s... the instrument sounds they used got annoying. One example, and my pick for worst: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6GsUe0hAVIo - Final Fight 2 had quite a few good tunes, most of which weren't used; instead, THIS damn ditty is heard over HALF the time!
