  1. This is indeed EXTREMELY good. Many congrats on such a rocking song. The synth lead and subsequent backing synths are really well-utilized and the production is really good overall. Can't wait to hear much more from you.
  2. This is some seriously incredible stuff. I must say, you've really mastered the lyrical, gritty, synthetic sound that many people strive for. The production tricks are also quite good. Hell, everything is super pro-quality; great work. I'll see what I can send your way for this great music.
  3. I've had that latency problem with Guitar Rig (2) and the only thing I can say is... Get a super fast computer with tons of RAM. My new computer only has a touch of lag, but my laptop has a 1 second delay... Grrr. If you can find another way to kill the lag let me know.
  4. On paper, it sounds about on par with Jesus becoming a roadie for a heavy metal band trying fight through the legions of the damned to become a rock legend... In the end, its the execution (and in the case of my parallel, Jack Black) that ruins it.
  5. I actually like this quite a bit. Sure it meanders through (i would have the same the complaint about it feeling lost) but i REALLY like the ambience. Every once in a while there seems to be some harmonic dissonance at play, though. The blowing sound on the left at around at about 3 minutes in is sort of off-key with the melody that comes in. Some slight pitch correction would help that or possibly EQing down at around 300 Hz could possibly solve that. Upon multiple listenings, I can definitely pick out a main melody that carries throughout the song. I feel the problem with the feeling of "being lost" could possibly be due to the fact that the melody is incredibly long. Rewriting the melody to add a couple-note hook that crops up now and then in the atmospherics would really tie the rest of the song together... If that makes sense.
  6. Fargo. One of the most boring movies to ever grace the shit-movies category. Anyone willing to disagree with this statement is a pseudo-intellectual hoity toity namby pamby stuck-up-their-own-ass shit-eating bum-tickling mouth-breathing dumbass-humping douche-drinking retard. Tis a fact. Also: Small Soldiers Royal Tenenbaums (utter shit) Freddie got Fingered (udder shit) The Life Aquatic Stealing Harvard
  7. I was totally depressed about hearing that... I absolutely LOVED Timesplitters (the first one especially). I really do hope this news of being "almost" shutdown is actually correct so that one day they may rise from the ashes, but I'm not holding out hope.
  8. Congrats guys! I always knew you two would be good together .
  9. Thanks everyone for the input! I may just have to suck it up and try to record with mics. I don't have the best recording area, but I guess thats a better alternative. I also have decent recording stuff. I'm planning on playing folk/alternative-style music on the acoustic. I was thinking of buying an acoustic or a bass guitar though, truthfully. I have pretty darn decent Bass guitar samples and have no use for my acoustic samples, so i figured a good acoustic would be a better purchase. Grrr, i don't know what to get at guitar center; I own better versions of the software I can buy there for 200 bucks.
  10. I've wanted to for so long, but for the life of me, i can't figure out the notes on some of those songs and there are absolutely no MIDIs of it. But yes, that soundtrack made that game.
  11. I've been wanting to get into acoustic guitar more than i have been. I own a shitty acoustic that my Dad bought probably about 20 years ago that doesn't stay tuned and is missing one of the plugs to keep the low E string in... So I want to get a new guitar. Here's the thing: I'm going to have about 200 dollars in guitar center cash after christmas, so I'm only going to be interested in something they have there. Also, considering that my main reason for starting to get into acoustic guitar is so that I can record it, I was considering getting an electric-acoustic. Truthfully, I have no idea about guitars in general but I want one that will sound the best being plugged into a pre-amp and fits into the sub-250 range. Any help would be great and much appreciated. EDIT: I'm looking at this... http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Classic-Design-Series-CD100CE-Dreadnought-Cutaway-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-519311-i1397687.gc Also, do all acoustic-electric guitars require on-board batteries? I've only seen this mentioned in a couple reviews, but that seems like a royal pain.
  12. Final fantasy 7... For some reason it makes the days leading up to christmas and then hitting the northern area a couple days before christmas magical for me. Its mostly the music that hits me... i could listen to the snow themes forever and be happy.
  13. Its strange, I'm oddly drawn to her even though I can't say I am attracted to her at all... I guess its because shes indescribably nerdy...
  14. That was awesome. I have to say, I've recently thought Joss Whedon has been slightly overrated (I mean Firefly was outstanding, but otherwise?) but this made me realize how good he really can be. Also, I have a huge man-crush on Nathan Fillion... He's just so awesome. ...Anywho... To the people who have been reluctant to see it: Its not god's gift to man, but it really is pretty excellent, especially considering what it has to compete with.
  15. This is actually a really great mix with some very outstanding production to boot. Consider yourself a "FAVOURITE!"
  16. I'd say the fair thing to do is that you have them license your music for a flat fee. This would mean you would bank on the fact that your notoriety plus the little bit extra that they would pull in for you would be enough to pay off the rest of the percentage you didn't get per unit sold. It would be a little tough to negotiate that since it seems like you are going to be relatively active in making the music fit in with the game... However, if you did agree to the terms of percentages on both sides I'd say whatever they were going to give you in the first place and maybe 10% from you to them on the album sold. You could possibly bump that to 15% if you say ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING you make for the game is yours and you can do with it what you will. The only drawback is that if you agree to percentages on the album, it doesn't exactly sound like you would completely own it... But 50% is fucking bullshit. Hell, 25% is pushing it considering you have your own means of publishing/releasing it. But then again, I don't know what I'm talking about. Then theres the possibility that the game becomes super mega huge and then you better fucking be getting a percentage.
  17. The only version of any of his songs that rocks is this: http://www.trifonic.com/2008/11/20/new-music-love-lockdown-trifonic-remix-mp3/ Otherwise no... Most of his songs are comprised completely of samples or are a hodgepodge of mess. Oh, and he's a pompous douche.
  18. I've been playing through this game again recently and I find this ReMix to be one of the best pieces so far. Wonderful, mellow feel to the whole thing. LOVE IT!
  19. I gotcha all beat: Alien Blaster Assault Rifle Chinese Assault Rifle Chinese Pistol Combat Shotgun Fatman Flamer Frag Mine Frag Grenade Hunting Rifle Laser Pistol Laser Rifle Mesmetron Minigun Missile Launcher Plasma Pistol Plasma Rifle Pulse Grenade Pulse Mine Scoped .44 Sniper Rifle Terrible Shotgun Zhu Rhong Pistol ...Yeah... I have 10 Strength plus the 50 extra pounds perk. I'm fucking ready for anything.
  20. I remember the couple of ff7 compositions he posted in the wip forum and said he didn't want to submit them because they were too long. As I listened to them I remember thinking that he was one of my favorite composers and deserved to have them up on the site despite the fact that they were both 8+ minutes long. I really wish I still had those songs too; after a couple HD crashes I've completely lost both of them. Otherwise, every other song he has up on here, namely Ascension to Cosmo Canyon, are incredibly beautiful and thought provoking. You will be truly missed, Reuben. Rest in Peace
  21. Just wanted to say that I've been listening to this album a TON at work. Great stuff all around!!! All the electro breaks are really infectious and the melodies in every track are great and memorable. Love it!
  22. I haven't played it in a while... Its great fun with friends. I don't understand why people rip on this game, its FPS refined and honed to incredibly balanced fun.
  23. You will not regret it. I can't remember the last time I was this involved in a game. I absolutely love it! I also haven't encountered a single bug the entire time I've played it... So take that as you will. But its a wonderful experience.
  24. Is anyone else kind of annoyed at how much most of the opposition levels up with you? It kind of kills the happiness buzz of leveling up when you realize all of the enemies just leveled up too. I understand that they don't want it to get boring later on, but it seems like they could have easily made it so that all of the enemies could level up at like 80% of what you do so that later on you actually feel like you've accomplished something. I dunno, thats just what I see.
  25. I absolutely love this game. This coming from someone who couldn't stand Oblivion. I'm a huge FPS fan, so i maxed out my SPECIAL to favor guns and repair and I blow the shit out of everything. Though, those radscorpions are near impervious to weapons that easily take down super mutants... Goddamn radscorpions. However, I haven't had ANY bugs in my play-through on my 360. I'm level 11 and only at the part where I'm supposed to go to Rivet City; so that might change. Can someone tell me how to get Dogmeat? I thought you were supposed to get him relatively early on. I've searched through about 60% of the total areas on my map (it at least looks like it) and I still haven't found anything pertaining to Dogmeat. Is he part of the main quest that I haven't gotten to yet?
