  1. I have every track they have put out They're probably one of my favorite bands. I love how the video works so well with the rhythm of the track. All glitchy and organic. Yum!
  2. Only 2 reviews so far?! This is a great piece. It has very lyrical instruments with great dynamics and a wonderful arrangement. The way each part speeds up, slows down, mixes up the rhythm and basically feels as though its actually being played, so fluidly, is truly great. I don't think I have ever had a bad thing to say about VHD's work and I'm not about to start. This is a great piece and a great addition to OCR.
  3. Looking forward to blasting "guitar" all over it when i hear the final version.
  4. I absolutely love this song. I don't usually listen to, or even like this genre that much, but Pot Hocket is a very huge exception to that. His talent is incredibly obvious from the first note. The pacing and dynamics of the overall arrangement are pretty damn amazing. The amount of complex harmonies and little subtleties applied to even the quiet parts of this song, pulled off effortlessly, is awe-inspiring. I have to say, Pot Hocket is one of, if not the most talented musician on the site and I do not say that lightly. 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000/10
  5. When I saw your thread name, i immediately thought of that trifonic movie. Such an amazing song.
  6. Wonderful stuff, the track has a great groove to it and the production is top-notch. I can't say enough good things about it.
  7. Great voice! Thanks again for putting up with me :D Really enjoyed working with your vocals.

  8. 6/8 might as well be 3/4 time. Think of the fractions. The FRACTIONS! Sick as shit track, but you already knew I thought that. And anyone who has been around here for more than 10 minutes should know that too.
  9. This is one amazing track. The production is (like everyone has said so far) fucking amazing. Progressive House really is an underrepresented genre on OCR and I'm glad to see that you've filled that quota with one track. Wonderful work!
  10. I personally love the shit out of my M-Audio BX8s. I bet you can find a reseller that has them for about 350. I know BGC has some BX8as and a few other people do as well and love them from what I've heard them talk about. But if you really want to go between Mackie and KRK I would definitely go with the Mackie's. I'm not the biggest fan of KRKs, they seem to really go for style over substance (addition of the yellow really does make them stand out) and don't seem to use as high of quality materials as the same range of competitor's monitors.
  11. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I desperately want every-fucking-thing in that package but can't afford it just yet. Dammit, that was gonna be my birthday present for myself. GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
  12. I was having the same problem... I think Sonar is 64 bit or something. Yeah, the plug-ins are what would require a 64-bit application. I think its sadly ahead of the curve.
  13. I'd just like to say, I have spent a lot of time with Reason the past couple weeks and I have completely changed my mind about it. I've been known to poo on Reason's quality of sounds. And while I hold the same opinion about the samples, the synths and other such pieces of the program are actually quite incredible. Its amazing what a bit of know-how on my part can do. I'll try and post a song or two in the near future that I've created exclusively with Reason's sounds
  14. This is fuggin' sick, start commenting people! Its a trancy eargasm.
  15. That seems to be doing the trick, i'll have to work with it a bit more, but i think its doing what i was thinking. Thanks guys!
  16. Alright, so I've been wanting to reproduce this sound for a while, but every time I try it doesn't work or sound remotely the same. It sounds like a bass drum or some similar sound repeated in like 1/96th repetitions, but every time i try and reproduce that in my samplers it won't sit the same in the mix and it isn't in any key. a couple songs with the same sound as im talking about are: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/152590/Sex%20Bomb%20feat.%20Brody%20Dalle%20%28Adam%20Freeland%20Remixes%29 (Sex Bomb (Adam Freeland Mix)) https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/76476/Play%20It%20Loud%20/%20Fundamental (Play it Loud - Far Too Loud) https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/159534/Ghetto%20Bass (Cheap and Chearful on the second page) Anyone know of a way to recreate that or a synth that specializes in that sound?
  17. Detachment and malaise happens to me with almost every single song i write. However, the songs that I don't have much of that with i know are good to someone else as well. I am incredibly anal about the sounds, melodies, structure and every other piece of the music i write. So if after all is said and done and I've heard the same song over and over again and i don't feel much of that, then I feel i have created something that someone else can enjoy as well. If i DO feel detachment/malaise about a song i either start all over with what i like about that song or i just leave it be. ...That also explains why i have about 500 unfinished songs...
  18. That usually means either your samples all sound the same and/or sound poopy or you don't have a whole lot going on.
  19. ...You should scratch me off that list... ...yay...
  20. Usually you have to have specialized plug-ins to work in surround. I know Waves has some amazing editors if you want to go the 'spensive route. Honestly I'm not as knowledgeable on the subject as I'd like, since Ableton doesn't technically support it. However, I'm pretty sure you can create aux buses for the 5 channels that are output to the 1/2, 3/4, 5/6(mono) outputs on your sound card that can be mixed between. The problem with that is the fact that you'll need a 5.1-enabled soundcard or audio-interface to make any kind of sense of it. Again, I'm not terribly knowledgeable about it, but that seems like the possibilities.
  21. I guess im not very good at being sarcastic... I should prolly stop... Anyhoo...
  22. I'm sorry, but thats asinine. There are so many logic gaps there... Human nature is people wanting to show everyone else they are better at something than everyone else... So the "egotistical springboard" will still be there. The major hole in your idea, though, is that it takes money to make all art, whether its painting (paints, brushes, stuff to paint on) music (thousands of dollars to record/produce music along with buying instruments and printing CDs or buying bandwidth), or movies (i wont even go into how flippin' expensive that shit is to make). Its this idealism that starts the shitstorm-inducing utopia-based governments that destroy individuality which is the sole purpose for art. Now as far as the pirate bay thing goes... Piracy is always going to be there because thievery is always going to be there. The only reason people want to draw a line between piracy and stealing is because they want to feel better about doing it. I'm not going to lie, I have used pirated copies of software before and am using two at the moment. However, I have always and will always either delete the programs when I'm done trying them out or buy the actual program as soon as possible. However, I only expect 1% of the people who use the pirate bay to use it responsibly. Therefore I am totally fine with having to forgo a slight amount of ease in buying programs in order for the prices for the things I do buy to go down and the companies for which I enjoy the products they ship to get the monetary credit they deserve. Thats my 2 cents anyway. Oh, and pirating music is wrong too.
  23. http://www.propellerheads.se/products/record/ So yeah, it looks like propellerhead has been working up to this kind of thing for a while. Anyone else think this looks cool? Personally, I have to say since it doesnt look like it adds any vst support that it kind of looks like a rip-off. The interface looks neat and comprehensive, but it looks like just another add-on to Reason than an altogether different product. Voice your 'pinion here.
  24. This is fuckin sick. I'm only hearing a mostly instrumental version, but this is gonna be amazing when its done. Excellent work guys. FINISH IT! EDIT: You might wanna punch up the bass on the kicks a bit, give it a massive stomp... I dunno, thats just me.
