I also am having a hard time bringing myself around to actually commenting on wips and the like. But most of the time its because I also don't ever seem to get comments myself when I post something in the wip:other forum other than the few people who I talk to outside OCRemix. I'm not complaining for my sake, I'm just trying to admit the reason I'm so reluctant to comment on other's work after going through the same myself. Yes, I agree its selfish, but for a while I would comment on everybody I could when I could find the time and when it came time for my wip thread to be commented on I'd get the few people I knew outside OCRemix and no one else. Not the many, many people I commented on (over the history of my posting on there, there have been maybe 4 people who reciprocated with comments). So basically what I'm saying is that there are a literal TON of people posting their remix and original WIPs on the wip forum and then they complain about how nobody comments on their mix when they won't spend the time to comment on others. I know this doesn't apply to everyone who has problems getting posts in the wip forums, but it is a great number of them. I also think that maybe the wip forums should get some more of the limelight. Maybe having a kind of ranking system for people posting worthwhile opinions, like I believe Fishy said. The kind of RPG fanaticism that burns in the loins of many of the people who visit here would ache to get a higher medal or something in that category. I know its kinda lame, but it would also serve to see if the people complaining about having their remix/original judged are reciprocating for everyone else. It wouldn't have to be a deeply involved system of hierarchy, but it would serve to both promote the wip forums (to show it on their forum header) and see who the good, able-judging people are. I dunno, thats my two-cents.

Finally I can show you my unibomber-like closet studio... This sad, sad area is where the magic happens... and where people are killed. In blur-o-vision. This looks a lot less cramped than it is. I actually use the Wii very, very little... If it wasn't for the fact my wife bought it for me for my birthday, I would probably have sold it by now. I'm 21 and have all 3 systems and I play the Wii, by far, the least. I've played Mario Galaxy to about 65 stars, and I've played Zelda and smash brothers about 5 hours total... And thats about it... for the 9 months i have had it.

Colossus is great! Some of the samples in there are probably not exactly what you're looking for when you go to choose that instrument (Didgeridoo for example) but as far as quality-quantity goes, its quite high quality samples of any instrument you don't already have and then some. I very highly recommend it, but if you're looking for specifics, I would go with one of the specialized EWQL products. Seriously, its expensive stuff, but you won't find any higher quality kits unless you get into the 8 grand arena of spending. You might as well plunk down the bigger money for EWQL now then spend a medium amount of money on something you'll need to replace with more expensive stuff later. Basically, I use Colossus extensively and its more than worth the money.

Great mix, man! Its really peaceful and has an interesting atmosphere about it. I really enjoyed the cool percussive stuff. Its a very complex and emotional mix that fits really well with the feel of the game. Great first mix and I can't wait to hear more from you!

I would absolutely love this! I've wanted to do a remix of Spyro the Dragon for so long, but I'm not too great at matching notes and I usually just lose interest anyway. Seriously, if anyone knows or can do MIDIs of the songs, I would be eternally obliged.

Listen to his single "You" or his new song (and one of my favorites so far) "Engine" for one of the best basslines ever. http://www.toksin.com/ Toksin - This guy is awesome, he mixes Rock, Breaks, IDM, Drum and Bass and a bunch of other stuff into very well-produced, easy to love remixes and a few originals. His remix of Mute Math's "Chaos" is possibly 10 times better than the original, but maybe just 9 times better, which is saying something since I really like the original. http://www.toksin.com/ Burufunk - This guy really introduced me to my love of massive, sweeping basslines. I usually think that using other people for samples is kind of a cop-out, but Amon Tobin mixes all of the samples together so well and then mangles the shit out of them while still retaining a certain quality to keep it enjoyable and interesting as well as beautiful and massive. His latest album Foley Room is alright, but extremely well produced. I prefer either Out From Out Where or Permutation. He also did the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Soundtrack with the most amazing song ever on it: El Cargo. Seriously, go listen to it right now. http://amontobin.com/field/ Celldweller - I don't know if this counts as breaks anymore, but he has some awesome electronic, industrial rock with a bit of a break-y beat. Definitely sexy stuff. After Orbital ended a little while ago, Paul (or Phil) Hartnoll went over and formed with some other guy and made some pretty tight breaks music mixed with kind of an old-school rock vibe. Its a great DNB/Rock mixture that makes you want to jump up and punch someone in the teeth... with your pelvis. This was actually one of the first songs I downloaded (and saved, not just listened to) off of this site. I love this song so damn much! It has such a good atmosphere and the limited amount of melody is actually what makes me really like this song. Very well-done and I even like the Monty Python bit; it gives the song a different feel. I want to hear more from this guy!

Ugh... Why is everyone saying this is the "best movie"? I got back 2 minutes ago and I am sooooo damn disappointed. I ask you to look back at page one for my criteria I was judging this movie off of... yeah, I didn't care what it was, as long as it was an Indy movie... Well, there ya go. Don't get me wrong, I would have given this movie my badge of "best movie ever" if it kept on the path it was starting off at the beginning of the movie, but nooooooooooooo, it had to add a bunch of cheesy special effects and Tarzan moments to it and then wrap it all up with a complete and total shit-tastic climax. Why?! It had started off soooo good, and then got a bit more out there... ok fine, its a little more crazy than the others, then it got a little more out there and then ended with the likes of nothing any Indy movie has ever wanted to be. Long story short, it was pretty disappointing. Sure, Shia LeBouff (sp) did a great job, there were some pretty awesome chase scenes and throwbacks to other movies and a few damn awesome moments all rolled in. Those moments saved the movie in my opinion, but not quite enough. Its just disappointing it had to go the way that it did.

Being of the very strong opinion that there need to be more good adventure movies, I'm extremely excited about this movie. I know it isn't going to be as good as the old ones; I knew it wouldn't from the time it was announced. I do know however, that even if no one else likes it, I know I will just based on the fact that I love Indiana Jones. Seriously, I even get stiffies for the flawed adventure movies like The Mummy, Sky Captain, and the like. Of course they're cliched, thats the point, they aren't supposed to be pushing huge dramatic boundaries or aspiring for Oscars. They're supposed to be fun! Anyone who expects otherwise is not only a moron, but a sniffy movie-school-dropout twat. ...Anywho, basically what I'm trying to say is that I know the new Indy isn't going to be great, but thats what I've expected and am hoping for. As long as it isn't utter shit, its gonna be great by my standards.

I actually just started playing Syberia and DAMN! I love the atmosphere so damn much. If it continues on and has a not shit-all-over-itself ending then it could quite possibly be my favorite game. All the little toys and stuff are cool; I wish there was a town built around automatons. On kind of a side note, did anyone play the old Learning Company games? They kinda count as adventure games I guess. Treasure Mountain, Treasure Cove, Gizmos and Gadgets, and that one in the old school. The one in the old school used to scare the shit out of me when the robots would pop out of nowhere. Ah, those were the days.

Anybody know an old adventure game back in the DOS days that was based around Mars and you have to look for ways to get your ship back to fly off the planet again? I think it was Mars, but I've been looking for that game for a long, long time and can't find the name. I played a demo of it a long time ago along with Goblins and it seems pretty interesting. On a side note, anyone know how to get those old DOS games working on an XP Windows machine without having to go into DOS? I don't want to mess up my computer, since I do music on it, but I really want to go back and play the Monkey Islands and Full Throttle, DotT, and Grim Fandango. EDIT: I found out the game I was thinking about; The Dig. But I'd still like to know how to play it on my computer.

I'm usually not too into purely rock songs like this, but damn if this is not the best 80s-ish rock song I've heard in a damn long time, if ever. It might help that I have a major soft-spot for the source(s), but this is just awesome. Great, GREAT interpretation of the source in such a way as to convert someone not real into the genre. Sixto and Darkesword are quite a dynamic duo. BTW, absolutely amazing production as per the usual Sixto sound .

If he pulls this out as well as the pirates movie it may be my favorite movie of all time. I hope against hope that this won't be a shit-tastrophe. The screenplay is being penned by the guy who wrote Gladiator, The Last Samurai, and Aviator, so that makes me even more optimistic about the whole thing.

Hey not bad; actually sounds a bit like KiloWatts and Vanek. Very well-produced and interesting. But truthfully, I think there is an original song from the 40s that this song is from, not technically BioShock. Very good stuff, and I liked your Halo remix from the days of old
