  1. Is there really a general deterrence towards mega-medleys? I never noticed.
  2. you can't get a hold of virt? really? well talk to him at magfest then, lol
  3. You could always do what I do and play your 2600 games on the Colecovision, a much superior system. I was lucky enough to find a Colecovision recently, with the Atari 2600 expansion module, and lots of games. Plus it was only a little over $20 for the whole thing. Also it works. brb playing superior version of Mr. Do.
  4. TJ&E 2 is still great though - the music being the strong point also yes The Coop that is a fantastic list and I have about half of it, plus a bunch that aren't on there, but not good enough to mention you need California Games, Zool, and NBA Jam on there though. How could you forget NBA Jam T.E.? I am disappoint
  5. Just a quick addendum, if you wanna listen to some music, here's the past five competitions in compressed archives: http://soundtempest.net/soc/ARHRC2K4.RAR http://soundtempest.net/soc/ARHRC2K5.zip http://soundtempest.net/soc/ARHRC2K6.RAR http://soundtempest.net/soc/ARHRC2K7.zip http://soundtempest.net/soc/ARHRC2K8.ZIP
  6. I don't understand why they need to make a KOF movie when the animated Fatal Fury movie was good enough
  7. THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS! It's that time again! Halloween is one month away and Anime Remix needs scary awesome music to post for Halloween! The rules are simple: Arrange or remix any tune from an anime or cartoon, and make it scary. All songs are due on October 30th, so we can listen to the songs on Halloween, and after that, for one week we will cast our votes for the best song. The winner of the competition gets the coveted REMIX #100 DESIGNATION! How cool is that? I hope to get lots of entries this year, as this is our most popular compo [OK, our only compo] and it's a good time to remind people that we're still around, and hopefully I'll get to see some new faces remixing anime music. When you finish, let me know either by email [overcoat at gmail.com] or by PMing me on the forums, or coming into #soundtempest on irc.esper.net and letting me know what's up. Good luck!
  8. I have no idea why people say this it's supposed to have you ever seen memento and/or pulp fiction
  9. Is that what you call it? Dome? I always called them the ruins. I don't actually have any ideas for Dome, I just thought MAYBE I SHOULD REMIX THE SONG THAT PLAYS IN THE RUINS SOMETIME I dunno
  10. It's also the only time anyone has ever even thought of covering that track, lol. The only real way you can "chat" with me is in #soundtempest on irc.esper.net. You could also just PM me I guess.
  11. I did Akrilic it'll be on Liontamer's Tim Follin project whenever the fuck he releases that
  12. I certainly did. http://soundtempest.net/soc/remix/OverCoat%20-%20Metroid%202%20-%20Omega.mp3 this is a couple years old but it's aged better than most of my other stuff. I thought about doing the ruins music as well but never got around to it.
  13. I bought the RF pack of course fuck yeah destroyable terrain
  14. I wish people would post about this shit on Anime Remix we have nice small threads for different things about anime! p.s. Zeon mobile suits kick the shit out of anything the federation has to offer. HARD FACT Zakus are the most recognizable mobile suit other than the Gundam itself.
  15. 2 turntables 1 microphone also a good crossfader and you can pick up records for cheap nowadays. I buy them from my Goodwill for $1 apiece, but it's stuff I listen to, I don't spin them around O_O sometimes you can find old funk/motown records that mesh well with the newer electronic stuff.
  16. Which anime movies have you been watching? Have you seen Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society? IIRC Production IG had all this money after making the SAC series, and with their budget they were debating on using it to make another GitS series, or a full length movie. They went ahead with the movie and it is quite good. Meanwhile, I finished Sketchbook Full Color's, and unnecessary apostrophes aside, it was unbelievably cute. Kinda reminded me of my own high school.
  17. you might like this: http://20kbps.sofapause.ch/ an entire netlabel devoted to creating music in 20 kbps
  18. You're not going to get FLACs of all the remixes, particularly the older ones, but it would be nice if more artists offered lossless downloads for their stuff and then gave everyone a link to that in the review threads. However, OCR is pretty resistant to offering lossless options, mainly because yeah, the bandwidth consumption would go through the roof, but having it be torrent only would work, I suppose. Most people who can play lossless files probably also have bittorrent clients. How else are you going to get flac files, really?
  19. chicken and waffles fuck year
  20. I feel like it's just a tool for the lazy. I have no problems crafting drum beats off of oneshots, especially since I have so many drum samples already, and I can track a good beat very efficiently without using VSTs. By all means, use EZDrummer, it's just not for me. I'm guilty of being quite lazy in the past though [hence analoq's "absynth presets and drumloops" description of my music in the past] but I have a lot more fun doing stuff from scratch now. I just find the one line "midi files that cover lots of electronic styles" to be rather silly, because electronic drums are split evenly between spliced up sampled drumloops and really really simple trance/dance drum machine beats. The amount of processing needed for most spliced up breakbeats is something midi files usually can't contain, and the trance/dance beats are so simple in their construction that requiring a midi file for kick-hat-snare-hat is just silly. I'm just being Andy Rooney though, you don't have to listen to me.
