  1. Can't predict how it will do and there's no sense in not trying. So might as well try and fight the good fight and get this stuff out in production.
  2. Thanks for all the support guys. We really appreciate it. Right now we're losing out to a group that wants to develop fun math toys for AIDS children in Uganda. Personally I don't see how fun math toys for terminally ill children in a third world country alleviates any sort of problem.
  3. Hey OCR. I'm posting this thread because my friend and I need your help to develop and patent a new type of armor. My friend Bryan here at UCI (University of California Irvine) to develop a new form of armor that is much stronger and lighter than anything available now. Plus, it is much more environmentally friendly to fabricate. We have more information at our website: http://www.boroshield.org So why do we need your help? Well, he is submitting his business plan to a contest that, if won, will provide him with the necessary money to patent his design, which will protect his idea. Then he can seek venture capital to begin research, development, and production of the design. This contest works by popular vote, similar to Ourstage but without the nifty matchups. Go to http://www.boroshield.org click on the green "VOTE" button with the thumbs up on the right side, and go through the simple process. You can skip giving them your personal information, but make the password REALLY easy to remember (more on that in a second). The only hard part is you have to verify your e-mail address by clicking on a link they e-mail you. The whole process will take maximum 5 minutes; we promise they won't spam you or anything. We're going to ask you to vote one more time in the last week of this month, so remember your password for the future. (Make it like 'boroshield123' or something). Vote now because the contest is over in just a little over a week on the 30th. Winning this contest will open up HUGE possibilities. Everybody will benefit from Bryan's technology. If you find this cause as worthy as I do, pass this along to your friends after you vote. We would greatly appreciate it. There is more information on our website (www.boroshield.org ) and the voting website http://www.ideablob.com/ideas/3024-Protective-Impact-Resistant-Mat . For voting instructions click here: https://webfiles.uci.edu/jmasukaw/boroshield/ideablob.html Thanks a ton guys! And pass this on if you find it worthy!
  4. See exotic places they said...have a life experience they said...
  5. I remember watching a few of his other videos. He's got some serious talent and an awesome hat.
  6. I read "scored" as in you won the game. >_> Then I was enlightened. Good job being a composer who works for freeeeeeeeeeeee~
  7. Is it just me or is the audio and the video not synced...by a lot?
  8. Gaming is just our generation's scapegoat just as rock was when it was an emerging genre of music.
  9. From what I gather this study is more like a survey modeled after self-report surveys for crime statistics, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The problem with this is that it won't hit mainstream media because they didn't outright say "video games are crucial to teens' social learning of morals and values blah blah blah." What I liked about the study is that they focused on both console and PC gaming and the social consequences of both. What I didn't like is that they included Solitaire as a video game. They also concluded that in order from most to least of those "likely" to play video games were young boys, young girls, and older boys. I would have thought older boys would have been the top category, but I guess that's just frequency effect hitting me.
  10. I really like the glow effect on that text.
  11. Such a weapon existed as part of a weapons mod pack for Deus Ex. Ah the memories.
  12. A "pass" is like a full-demo that expires after a few days. So Atmuh's TF2 pass let's you try out the full game for a couple days and then doesn't let you start the game until you buy it. A "gift" on the other hand is as if you bought the game but is totally free. So if you took my gift you would then own the full HL2 game.
  13. As with others in this thread, I have the HL2 gift (but no Episode 1) for anyone who wants it. Just throw me a PM or post here if you want it.
  14. Good mix overall, though there were some spots that stuck out a bit like the abrupt change to Siamey's mix. Some of the other tracks you picked I couldn't get into, but that's just personal taste. I'll probably keep it on the playlist.
  15. moar liek pixiekicks lolmirite?
  16. Is there any indication that Trenth was even on the train?
  17. If Gray comes back, I'll start...playing chess again with kamoh again. I never did get to play chess against Gray...or maybe I did, damn he's been gone too long. (and dear God Dhsu's sig has been smilified, is nothing sacred anymore?)
  18. I got a lot of my friends to play it. It's definitely no WoW, but then again I'm not paying $15 a month with a $30 initial cost. I just wish the cash shop wasn't so expensive, but then again, you guys need to make money. And lots of people are willing to pay 10 cents a message to post in World Chat.
  19. I think that with reducing the servers to only one PvP and one PvE and with open beta players the game has drastically been reduced in quality. The number of killing quests is now more annoying than ever because everyone else is killing them. Squading, while it helps to alleviate the situation, doesn't solve it. There's much to be done with this game before it's out of beta.
  20. As Audix mentioned already, you're a little late in that debate. Search the forums for the other OurStage topics and you'll see why that not only "recruiting" votes legal, but actually encouraged by OurStage itself.
  21. We have a Works In Progress board so you should post there for some constructive criticism: http://www.ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16
