  1. Your mouse wheel might be dislodged from its original position. Find a screwdriver and open the thing up. Mice are really simple in design so the wheel should be able to be picked up and placed back into position. Just watch out for any kind of spring that keeps the mouse wheel from spinning too much that might fall out. For your second problem, I have no idea.
  2. I played Citadels (Machiavelli in Dutch) over mIRC with some friends. Quite the buggy little thing though.
  3. I think I heard something before about uploading videos already coverted in .flv format, which means that Youtube doesn't need to convert your work to shit. I don't know the details going about that, or if you can even do it. Sooo...yeah. ¯\(°_o)/¯
  4. The B-K soundtrack was the first video game music I listened to outside of playing the actual games. I got the soundtrack from Best Buy in some kind of promotion along with a T-shirt. I didn't have a portable CD player so I recorded it to tape cassette and walked around listening to it on my old Walkman. I think I have to credit Kirkhope for getting me into video game music to begin with.
  5. I think 200,000 people is a great deal of people. That's like...my whole city...plus 50,000 more people. Damn.
  6. Seriously, if you have nothing worthwhile to contribute then don't post. Anyway, is anyone else here planning on playing this when it comes out? Or at least giving it a try? Despite the posts saying it's grindy, I'm willing to try it since it's completely free.
  7. It's hard for me to judge without understanding the lyrics, but I have to say that the guitar doesn't match the rest of the song for me. Usually I don't think the lyrics matter much, but since you mentioned what the song was about before I listened to it, I could only imagine more typical smoochy Japanese love songs. The singing, while not the greatest, wasn't as bad for me as it was for others here. Hopefully you'll win. Good luck!
  8. There are certain songs that give me shivers and goosebumps, usually songs that have a lot of meaning to me. Some songs I create a scene like others have stated. In particular, djpretzel's Pachelbel's Ganon gives me a clear image of a man walking through rain to go to a small venue to admire a female singer. The man tears up near the end and leaves before the singer has time to finish her song. This kinda stuff is atypical when I listen to music though.
  9. So US players have to wait until the closed beta to test this out? Or am I missing something here? EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out that the registration page isn't open yet. I was confused because there were Asian clients out there. Got my closed beta key from mmosite.com. This game actually has me kinda excited. Hopefully it won't tear me away from Guild Wars too much.
  10. Chrono Trigger and Xenogears for me, except I still haven't played either. Whoops. I actually own Chrono Trigger and haven't played it. Double whoops.
  11. I think you should just downgrade until they release the next build for it.
  12. This is rather unfortunate for me since I bought Rock Band fairly recently. I just took a peek at that song list and none of those songs interest me in the slightest. :/ I just converted a bass pedal to play on my set but that new Ion drum set has me creaming my pants.
  13. I weep for your wallet. I'd rather have a car man.
  14. Definitely geek over nerd here. Good article, though it kinda droned on for a while.
  15. The front page is hideous on 1920x1200. Here's a screenshot: http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/1575/loooooolcr5.jpg
  16. Check your browser connection settings (for FireFox Tools>Options>Advanced>Network>Settings) and see if it's trying to connect through a proxy. It's probably not that, but worth checking out.
  17. I wrote a paper on video game music as art. I said that I generally believe that music contains a lot of artistic value but not all music should be considered art. The same goes for video games in general. I tend to believe that games like Madden '08 aren't art but games such as the Metal Gear Solid series are, for obvious reasons.
  18. I'm pretty sure it's just a case of having the fonts installed on your computer in the first place. If it's an Asian language that's not displaying, check to see if your font packs for those are installed. For XP: Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages; and see if the checkboxes are checked.
  19. Congratulations man. Hope you have a happy life together!
  20. Well, in either case, I think your temperatures are running too high for idling. What kind of CPU fan/heatsink do you have? The big factor for my jump in idle temps is the airflow at the back of my case. I used to have the left vent in the case completely blocked but the back completely open. Now I have the left vent open and the back with less than a foot of space from the wall.
  21. Core Temp reads directly from the processors themselves using Intel's Digital Thermal Sensors located in each core. Real Temp uses something they call "Fluke 62 IR Thermometer," whatever that is. I'd say Core Temp is much more accurate, especially since your processors will be adjusting their performance based on what's in the DTS. I'm running a Core 2 Duo in my system and my idle temps increased by 10 celsius in my room at home as opposed to my old dorm room at college.
  22. I thought the whole deal with MK was that they were the first game that you actually kill your opponent or something stupid like that.
