  1. You're an awesome guy, hope your b-day is equally awesome!
  2. But then that wouldn't have left anything for you to throw in
  3. FL does include asio4all, if that's what you mean. You still have to specify in FL (or the stand-alone synth you want to use) which audio driver to use. If you hit F10 (or options > audio settings) under the audio tab make sure you don't have one of the "DirectSound devices" selected as your driver. If you're using a stand-alone synth like say, FM8, it'd be under like File > options or File > Audio/MIDI preferences or something along those lines.
  4. You're remembering to use ASIO sound drivers, right? If not, head over to asio4all.com and grab them. Then simply specify that you want to use those drivers in your DAW or VSTi.
  5. Yep, he beat me to it. Very rarely are foley sounds/sound fx ever recorded wet for this very reason. If you want a machine gun to sound far away, then EQ it, or put a filter on it, lower the volume, and add a bit of reverb. Or, if you have money, you can buy something like AudioEase Speakerphone
  6. RIP. You da best, mayne. http://altpress.com/news/lespaulpassesaway.htm
  7. The Conduit Cripes, he reamed that one out hard. It's funny he specifically said "The music consists of nothing but a bunch of five second loops", considering the whole remix contest thing that AcidPlanet had for it. It was brought up here.
  8. Thanks! Much appreciated!

  9. I've never been personally that impressed with Digitech's sound modeling. But I guess they're good for introductory hardware, and they're pretty affordable.
  10. Was clear here. Didn't see anything
  11. Hi, welcome to the site. To answer your question, nobody signs up as an artist. It's a status that is attained for either being credited as a remixed game's composer, or having a remix accepted and posted to the site.
  12. Also, Red Waltz would be great - http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01740/ For the whole waltz/tango vibe.
  13. I'm not sure I'm the one best suited to answer your question, because I'm not much of a hip-hop writer, but I will say that it might be helpful if you post a small snippet of your track so people could possibly hear the context in which the trumpet will be used.
  14. Well, that's the idea, isnt it? I know, I know, I know, you were talking about the iLok
  15. I suppose you make a solid point there.
  16. I feel like José deserves his own emoticon. Happy bday, bro! Keep doing your thing!
  17. do you mean to say you retire from the OCR message boards? or simply this forum? either way, take it easy man.
  18. This is true. It's really not Mickey/Disney's fault that Oswalt got "tossed aside", considering Disney lost him in a crooked deal with Universal.
  19. I do agree that iLok/dongle management is kind of ridiculous. For example, Autotune will cost you $320, but no iLok is included. However, the $99 version (Autotune EFX) does include one, how silly is that? And I actually have extra iLoks because MOTU instruments do come with them, I believe with the auth data already loaded in the iLok. Me, I'm not a fan of iLoks simply because I hate tying my ownership of a product to a small piece of hardware that could be lost, broken, or stolen. Yes, I know can get "downtime coverage" or whatever it's called, but I'm annoyed by the idea of paying a fee to make sure that my ownership does not get compromised. Also, you should NEVER pay more than $25-30 for a Steinberg key and $40 for an iLok. If you're paying more, you are buying them from the wrong place.
  20. Haha, I see why it's called Chrono Chop. Nice work, bro. That was a fun listen
  21. Well, first you need to download the Enigma software from M-audio. Let me know when you've done this and I'll walk you through it then.

  22. so what's the dealio man, did you ever get your Axiom to work right? I figured out how to get the transport buttons to work like a charm using Enigma. And Omnisphere seems to work flawlessly now. How are you finding it?
