-
dude.. i was expanding my mix. Sorry for the delay, i'll try to post it this weekend or next.. it's just that right now im on exam period.
-
Nice beginning, this has got some nice flava to it! There are some bckground noises which im not too sure if they are on purpose or not. Man, this is really sweet. Plus, it sounds like... A REAL PIANO? WHOA.. that's odd these days. Well, my only advise as a piano player is for you to.... buy a better microphone! LOL . Really, that's the only flaw here. keep rocking, mate!

Good news. Just updated WIP 4b, which adds 30 more seconds of music. I hope you guys enjoy it! -
How strange not to have heard bad critics out of this, this kind of stuff usually gets a LOT of nasty and discouraging comments by nerd-assed-people. I really like this, and the "agressive" feel to it. (in my parallel universe those synths would've been electric guitars LOL) Anyways, good work, mate!. So , the best of luck on the submission.

setokaibarocket: Okay, I've uploaded to tindeck (thanks tensei san), so you can listen it ! ^^ Click here to listen! Eternal Testament: Thanks a lot man!.. I'm flattered ^^ Tensei San: Thanks a lot for the comments.. but.. medley.-ish ? LOL ..i get what you mean... the bad thing is that these 1:33 minutes of music have taken about 10 hours to be done... lol... If i ever get to finish this i might try expanding each section ^^. But ,.. thanks anyway for the advice man -
Third Time's The Charm; It's Castlevania and it's metal

This is REALLY good stuff. I like how this is composed, and the sixto-ish feel it has to it. However, I have to say that i feel that this gets spoiled by the production: The sample choosing, other times is bad timing on the drums (specially on the beginning.. the drum solos at the end are awesome)... sometimes the drums are ultra realistic.. others are ultra-fake (you'll probably realize when). If i were you, I'd spend a day ripping off drum sounds from bands you like, and using them in this song to make your own rythms (a.k.a Sampling LOL). In 0:41 the piano is playing some weird notes which are out of scale. If I were you, I'd spend some good time mastering it. Some good things you could do: 1 - Put a compressor on the drums (everyone likes loud drums.. of course.. not too loud) and then some reverb to everything, but specially to the drums and the piano/harpsichord. 2 - Use SEVERAL crash and ride sounds. THat way, people won't realize they aren't real drums. 3 - Be careful about the realism of the piano. Maybe you could get Garritan Personal Orchestra, it has a very good piano preset. In case you can't find anything,.. put it less bright and with more reeverb. 4 - I would put a lot more of ornaments and littley stuff from time to time.. to make this better. 5 - Put something over those strings.. or at least don't put them so loud, because the sample is not da best ever LOL. okay.. now after this badass criticism, I really have to say (despite it doesn't seems that) that this is VERY good and I liked it very much. The arrangement is 10/10, interpretation is 10/10 but production is 5/10. Work on that and you'll make this a classic. -
God of War - The Wrath of Kratos

lemme see At first i thought this was going to be an orchestral remix, but now that i hear the percussion /drum-beat part, I'm really loving this. Sounds truly awesome, and you manage to drag me to the atmosphere. You've worked very much on the sampling of the drums, and that is REALLY important to me, because most mixers here don't care too much on how the drums sound.. they just use crappy midi samples. Awesome synth usage. Plus, cool break section. On the other hand...I dun like the string samples at the beginning and in the very first seconds of the"break" part(not because they're not realistic.. but, they don't sound realistic when they change the note they're playing.) Anyways, great work mate. -
Sounds pretty cool. From the beginning I'm really digging the arrangement. Um...maybe you should find a real Saxophone player, and better piano samples. Awesome use of the different instruments. You've used everything here. But becareful on choosing the snare drum percussion.. I don't like very much the snare on 3:51, and i think it is too loud for the rythm so simple it plays. The change in 2:39 feels kinda abrupt.. maybe you should try to make a crescendo. Other than that, is very cool, kinda sounds italian-ish to me Man, this tune would be really awesome if it was played live (somehow ) Anyways, good work mate!!

Thanks dude, I'm flattered by all the comments! Let's hope they don't kick my ass in this week's exams , so I can keep working on it next tuesday -
Sounds pretty cool. Reminds me to Bart kepka.. that dude had some awesome mixes here on OcRemix. I'm really diggin this and is kinda orgasmic at times. Plus, you've got very good samples (the flutes, and some drum hits) , but i think you haven't been "as" careful with the selection of "all" the samples... maybe you could choose a more realistic shaker sound, and a more realistic piano preset (That piano is too bright to be real). And well, maybe a "more realistic" string patch... but that's only production stuff.. Talking about music itself, this is 10 out of 10. (PS : it would be a good idea that you get a good sample library, like East West Quantum Leap Gold, or such... )

Well, here comes the badass criticism. I still don't like too much that unison, maybe you should try to put more filling to it (chords and such). Or you can try putting sound effects over it... some sword sounds, screams, some bells, a burning city.. whatever AS for the chords in the beginning. This is only a thing of personal tastes, of course, but I don't think that the Ab Maj 7 chord (or something like that) sounds allright in the first seconds. It feels like you mistook the chord, or like you wanted to break the harmony because of a funny moment. I would've put instead an A Major chord (it's the most typical choice, but typical doesn't mean it has to be bad). Anyways, keep on it,.. despite the criticism, I'm really digggin this!

it says "NOTICE: No servers are currently available with the requested data on them. Please retry your request in a moment." . I've already tried 10 times. Why don't you try hosting it on putfile?

okay, I'll try to change the violin stab.. (LOL nobody likes the violin.) Anyways, thanks a lot for your comments, I feel very encouraged to keep working on this. -
Um...... This sounds like a free arrangement of Zeal Island, which is kinda cool. Try to find better drum samples, and make them more powerful (use a compressor) and put their volume higher!!. Anyways this is quite fun to listen. try to find more sounds for the drums, and try to work on differenced sections: with that i mean.. try not to make the entire mix sound like an uniform section.. but instead, for it to be divided in several and different sections: that makes the listener enjoy more each part of the song, (if it was only one section, the listener would get tired after one minute.. ). Anyways, keep on it. Sounds good so far

The mix begins great, I liked the synths and the piano. Later it seems to come a "Sytrus" synth or somthing, and then the drums. I still don't like very much that bass line.. it kinda spoils the great atmosphere you had built up. Um, I liked the first drum part, but I would put instead a longer and more "hard/distorted" snare drum, maybe like this I would even say that you could try addding some "mixing" to the drums (maybe like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gbum-dJTuI )I would say the biggest danger for you here is to fall on repetitiveness, although I've liked the mix so far.. Maybe you could try implementing different sections and such. As for the good things: I really loved the synthesizer atmosphere you built, the piano and the beats. It's really chilling, and for sure is a song I'd put on my mp3. It's great stuff what you got here. Sounds awesome

Chrono Trigger - Manoria Cathedral ReMix
John Revoredo replied to Robotaki's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
This begins really cool. Nice flava. Some sexy drumming, I'd even put the snare drum more metallic.. but that's just a thing of my tastes LOL. Loved the semi-background piano. Ugh.. wait a sec... lead flute? LOL Flute wasn't the right option.. maybe you didn't have to put a lead theme there!.. this is sweet as atmospheric. Then comes some keyboarding and hot eq-ing play. I really liked that. In 1:55 comes a hot transition... however it doesn't feel like a total transition...So, i woul instead put some half-silence bars before (without drums..but with some instrumental stuff)... that would make the change stronger. Reversed bell sounds? Whoa.. that's REALLY sexy. I'm freaking diggin this. You know what could make this perfect? A huge drum mix, ... like this: or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gbum-dJTuI (i'd even advise to get a decent quality version of the mp3 tunes.) Also, you could do some good stuff with some scratching-gear .. but that is hell expensive!!Anyways, good work , mate!. Your tunes have never let me down. -
sounds good so far. Awesome samples you got, man! although there isn't much to say since this is just the beginning.. but it's got a real good flava, I'm specially diggin the first seconds. Can't wait to hear more

oh man... They should pay you for this Awesome advise guys, I'll keep everything in mind. Also, I would point that the Equalizing sucks. I put some Fl filtre that is a terrible, but don't worry on the next version, I want this to turn out awesome. Is there any ethnic/orchestral drum library/kit you'd recommend me? Sephfire: Tell me a site where you think I can host the wip. I'd love to hear your crits/comments Davidicus: ok, I've made the brasses sound more "brassy" LOL , and also added staccato trombones for the first time evah. (Since putting beef inside my computer seemed not to work LOL) Sil: I took the idea of turning the 6/8 into a 3/4 later on the Davy Jones (LOL) part Robotaki: I still have to find out a way to make that magic of the "less sustained marcato string", I'll try to work on that. BTW, what happened with the collab? LOL Pick a song or something and drop me a pm! -
(Update - FINISHED V1) I was thinking... what would happen if Jack Sparrow came to the world of elder scrolls? LOL Tell me if it's worth finishing it, and if you think I'd have a minimal chance of getting it accepted on OCR. ------------------------- EDIT - FINISHED VERSION http://media.putfile.com/Prometheus-PiratesOfOblivion1b (Slightly amplified and equalized. This was the version sent to OCR)
