  1. Hi there, first post on the forums, but I was hoping on getting some feedback on this song I made a while back. Unfortunately,I got a little too giddy, and released it without really checking it over a whole bunch. First thing, I can't easily put out new version of the song to listen to because FL Studios does not like rendering out the song without some glitchiness/weird stuff happening to it. I'll have to fix that eventually ): but for now I can only post videos. A few things I know I'll fix is the panning and volume of certain instruments. I was working on speakers because I didn't have headphones at that time, but since then bought a nice pair and was hoping to fix that up. The other thing is the equalization! I really can't get the intruments to sound well/dont know how to EQ them properly, specifically the xylophones/flute. I'm using the EWQL Gold library and FL studios if that helps anyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w7PUkkS2yI
  2. I have the basics of a novel titled Remorse: Nothing More that I would love to publish one day alongside an album with each song corresponding to a chapter of the book. The album would all be orchestral (at least mostly) and each chapter's song would correspond with specific events in each chapter in mood and style. In this chapter, chapter five titled "Sustenance," the main character and the supporting character are resting after spending an entire day burying the martyred townsfolk. This rest after the weary and sad work is what the beginning is based upon. The supporting character then reveals that he grew up and lived some of his adult life as a soldier of the dictatorship ruling over their country. This dramatic revelation occurs with a flashback to his military days and is what the second part is based on. The final part (which hasn't been started--it is only a piano cord at the end) will be the main character staring at the partially burned church as a he falls asleep in prayer. Even if you don't understand what I'm trying to convey with the story please have a listen to my work in progress. I recently purchased new instruments so I am not that proficient with them yet. I use the DAW FL Studio 12. The following is the link for your listening pleasure. Please, I ask for feedback so that I can finish this piece! I also have a sound cloud account under the name of Tonal Bliss so please check me out. Thank you! http://www.tonalbliss.com/other/ChV-Sustenance6.mp3
  3. Here's the first of two video game arrangements I did for my indoor drumline a few years ago. I needed it to be easy enough for high school students to play, so that's one of the reasons it's only about a minute and half long. This one ended up sounding pretty decent after adjusting the attack/decay and environment settings, compared to the other one I just posted. But it feels too short. Also, I'm fully aware this theme has been done to oblivion. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bcvwd1u6ev14wic/Schala's Perc (Chrono Trigger).mp3?dl=0
  4. So a few years back I arranged a couple video game tunes for indoor drumline. I was kinda rushed for time when writing this one, so instead of continuing forever through even more key changes and stuff that the original track actually does, I just did a loop and made a quick ending. It worked enough for me and the group I was instructing, but I'm still not sure about it, but it's been years since I worked on it so there's that. Also, I did try adding general effects to make the instruments sound better, but in this case, it totally messed with all the dynamics and I wasn't able to figure out a way to make it the way I would've liked it. So I think I like this version more. So here is my arrangement of Arrival from Halo 4. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9byvyiqpx72g5vy/Arrival of Drums.mp3?dl=0 And here's the alternative version. https://www.dropbox.com/s/c7nwlwnq1f71iod/Arrival of Drums (V2).mp3?dl=0
  5. Hey all! I just finished a Final Fantasy XV I made in a trailer-ish orchestral style with FL Studio. Do you think this could work for OCR? Or is it too similar to the original?? Also, would love to hear what you guys think are the things I could've done better, if you have the time for some open feedback/criticism! 6. I decided to go more orchestral for this one, but get it to be pretty choatic and interesting. Let me know what you think! *Update* Fixed some mixing issues and got rid of the clicks.
  7. Hello, You will find one of my compositions. Hope you like it Don't hesitate if you have any comments. Best, Leonis
  8. Have a couple songs I've been working on that may go on an EP next year. The include original content and covers of classic Christmas Carols including: White Christmas, Oh Holy Night, Oh Come, Oh Come, Emanuel and Carol of bells. All feedback is welcome and appreciated! Thanks!
  9. This is a small collection that I am hoping to make larger so that I might get involved with Skyrim mod projects. What do you all think of the music? Does it fit the Elder Scrolls universe? I really would love feedback :). Thank you for listening!
  10. New Orchestral Rendition: "After The Darkness" By: The Knights Of Ceol (one of my music projects)
  11. Hey everyone, here is a cover of the main theme from Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Hope you enjoy, I'd like to hear any thoughts on the arrangement and mix.
  12. Hey guys! Here's the most recent orchestration I've just uploaded of the main theme from 'The Legend of Zelda'. I absolutely love this music by Koji Kondo which, in my opinion, is one of the most iconic themes in the history of the gaming industry. Hope you enjoy! ~Jfa
  13. Over the years, I've written a fair number of original songs. Some got done, some got half-way finished, and others didn't get beyond even the first 15 seconds. But I kept making them, and going back at times to work on ones that I'd started, but never finished. Oddly enough, it was while I was working on a remix last year that had way too much original stuff to be a remix anymore (for Vampire Variations III) that I finally just said the hell with it, cancelled that remix so I could make it a wholly original song, and began listening to the done and unfinished tunes I'd made in the past. I began thinking about which ones I'd like to tackle in terms of updating and/or finishing, and wound up doing not only that, but writing several brand new songs that came to me as I was working. The end result, is "The Journey Vol.1." This is an album with music that was inspired by various parts of the novels I've been working on, covering moments that were happy, sad, and points in-between. The style of the music is basically classical or ensemble, with piano, orchestration, and even some chamber-esque music. I'm pretty proud of the end result, and can't wait to get going on Vol. 2 once I've given myself a little break (this was WAY bigger of a project than I thought it would be). You can find the album on both Bandcamp and CDBaby (link coming once it's live) for $5, with 11 main tracks and 2 bonus tracks. Here's the first single from it, "A Mother's Last Lullaby." https://soundcloud.com/dragonwolfdesign/a-mothers-last-lullaby With that, here's a link my Bandcamp page. Hope you guys enjoy the album https://dragonwolfdesign.bandcamp.com/album/the-journey-vol-1 http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/mtyankovich1
  14. Heathens ReMix by Chernabogue Had a lot of fun remixing this. Took me a few days, but I'm proud of how it turned out. Enjoy!
  15. Hello, I want to work gamedev. Just listening and critize, rate my music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVVHO023feM
  16. This is a track I just composed using my new midi controller. I love the music of the Elder Scrolls and I decided to compose a piece that was inspired from that. The Sunset Mountains is a mountain range in the Dungeons and Dragons setting of the Forgotten Realms. For this I decided to create warm sounds using french horn and deep strings. I used the children's choir samples to evoke the colder aspect of the mountains and the oboe for an exploratory sound. I hope you all enjoy and I look forward to the feedback!
  17. A long time in the making! I struggled to find a real direction for this piece. The glockenspiel introduction was easy enough - but after that, every time I started to make progress I would lose steam and struggle to find a musical and emotional direction. Eventually I persevered and found the voice and mood I wanted! In the end, I decided to write this as a two part piece along the lines of some of John Williams' pieces for Star Wars (e.g. Love Pledge / The Arena, The Hologram / Binary Sunset).
