I know pronouncements for album releases here aren't as hot as they used to be, but I submit this work for your consideration and enjoyment anyway: I finally got to do a commissioned work for a visual novel and I contributed 12 tracks to the third game in a visual novel series called Without Within by InvertMouse Games. Not only is this my highest quality release to date, but it's also one of my most consistent and less electronic than before. I had to use more loop and phrase libraries to make that work since everything was still done in the computer and I can't play guitar, but the quality of the output speaks for itself. It fulfills my 15-year goal/dream to make music that puts my Chrono Cross inspiration full to the front AND I finally got to actually perform (with a piano) on a commercial music release instead of just sequence it (and it's not even any of the tracks that has a piano on it!) I don't get to sell this soundtrack as part of my contract deal with the commissioner, but for anyone who is interested in it, I'll post up a link here when that becomes available. Until then, please enjoy this work. I really got to break a lot of new ground here and I hope you're as pleased with it as I am! Composition, arrangement, mixing and further production: Meteo Xavier Mastering: Brandon Strader Album Artwork: Meteo Xavier using public domain images. Game available through InvertMouse Games.

Here's the link to the updated version for your convenience, I've removed some of the percussive instruments and just generally changed the whole mix to get rid of some of the imbalance. So I decided to make an acoustic version of this classic Zelda tune, I did my best with the filters to make it sound like an old latin song that you might have heard on the radio. I used something like 10 different percussive elements some panned, all with customized velocity and slight time delay, did my best to separate all the instruments as much as possible, but the filters and compressor does kinda make it hard to hear them all, it's a trade off I had to make to get old sounding effect. Nothing fancy on the guitar style, I used what I had in Nexus and used some effects to tweak the sound. I know that this style of remix has been done before it just fits this song so well. Hope you guys like it. There's a link in the video description if you want to download it.

Hey guys, I recently completed a little arrangement of "Secret of the Forest" from the SNES class Chrono Trigger. This piece gets covered and arranged fairly often, but I decided I wanted to try my hand at it. A lot of the best covers for this piece either tend to be either a full replication of the original instrumentation or a solo piano piece, so I decided to meet somewhere in the middle and approach it as a piano and flute piece. The result is something that I hope is simple, approachable and a little elegant, while still retaining what made the original piece by Yasunori Mitsuda so special. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we loved working on it. - Daniel.

Here's a quick rpg theme I recently composed. It is supposed to emulate a scene where the protagonists of the story are reflecting around a campfire and under the stars (hence the sequenced synth at the beginning and the end). All feedback is welcome :D.

Yo! I published my first composition on YouTube and i also want to share it with you people here :). It's quite peaceful track.

4. submitted dragon quest 7 - deeper in the heart
bluelighter posted a topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Here is an acoustic/classical arrangement from dragon quest 7 "days of sadness" and "with sadness in heart" (composed by Koichi SUGIYAMA) For this arrangement, I wanted sthg minimalist in the building and in the instrumentation. I thank @Katamari (guitar), @Chris ~ Amaterasu (violin, viola & cello) and @Arvangath(bass) who have collaborated with me. Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/bluelighter0085/dragon-quest-7-deeper-in-the-heartmp3 -
I was trying out a few different chord progressions. I ended up with a Bm, DM, Em9, F#m progression(throwing in some 7ths and 11ths later on for good measure) that I really liked, and this is what happened. It's a pretty simple song. Two different rhythm guitar parts with a lead, and sequenced bass guitar and drums. Feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Hello! I made a new cover. It's about Lufia 2 soundtrack, a little bit of sad theme. There has been some time since i uploaded anything, but this one got my groove back :). Main instruments are acoustic guitar and piano. I made other sounds like bass with DAW from the scratch. Here is the cover: and here is the original soundtrack:

This is also from my upcoming album... I definitely would like feedback as this was quite the experiment by taking a battle theme and turning it into a softer sounding tavern-like song. I hope you all enjoy! Thank you all for the feedback for the last one (Dissipating Sorrow) I posted!

Amateur hour. I'm really not sure how to approach the mixing of this track. It's an attempt at performing Another Termina as a sort of acoustic ensemble, mainly using guitar, melodica, and penny whistle. There are most certainly more problems than the mixing, but right now that feels like the most frustrating part. To my ear, the melody doesn't seem to fit into the mix and feels "subdued". I've also listened to this too much, so I may just be crazy. In any case, I'm not sure how to handle that; I've tried carving some more space using EQ, but my initial attempts have gotten messy pretty quickly. Does anyone have any guidance on that? I think this track is comprised of the most recorded instruments I've ever tried to work with, and I think that's making it a bit tougher for me since the mix is "crowded". Anyway, any other thoughts, advice, or help is appreciated. I apologize in advance for trying to play the penny whistle! Thanks! https://soundcloud.com/0x000000ff/termina-5a

Hello! Some time ago, i made a cover about very sensitive song. This song is from the game, that is very memorable and still one of the most important games i have ever played. Chrono Cross - Singing Emotions. It's pretty simple rendition, but i like how nicely acoustic guitar fits in...at the end i mixed it with the same kind of sound, that plays in the original. It kinda express the sensitivity of the cover more . Here is the cover: And here is the original:

I have never played Skyward Sword in my life, but i think Fi's Theme is the most beautiful piece ever made for this saga. So i felt like making a remix of it: Source: Fi's Farewell - Game: The Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword Link to Remix: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93823550/%5BFinished%5D%20Goodbye%20Fi.mp3 For the first time in my life i tried to be not conservative with a remix (Well, the first half is still conservative), but the the second half is basically my own take on the motif. I hope you enjoy it.

Hey! I've been trying to learn more about the overall process of recording, EQ'ing, mixing, using virtual instruments and mastering. Still very amateurish but I thought I'd share and see what advice people might have and hope they enjoy. For this track I was going for something a little more moody than the original, which can be found here. Youtube: SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/logan-r-dowell/on-the-other-side-of-the-mountain
