  1. Hello! I released new original track called "Party Bell". It's electronic dance music featuring instruments such as piano, synth, saxophone and strings. Feedback is very welcome!
  2. So I have completed a track I've been working on for quite a while now, called "Unalienable". It's sort of a philisophical pop song. I posted demos in the past, but now I'm calling it done. ============================================================ Listen here: https://dgrove.bandcamp.com/track/unalienable ============================================================ This is just one song of a larger concept album I'm working on on the subject of Natural Law (and I haven't a clue yet as to how I'm going to sell that!) If you like it, it's available for purchase for $1. Although, I'm *not* currently using a business account with PayPal, so I don't yet know how well my current account will hold up as far as receiving funds. So if you run into issues on your end, send me a message.
  3. Hi Everyone, I hope you had a great Holiday, and are looking forward to the New Year. Here is a Trumpet and Tenor Saxophone arrangement of Jack's Lament by Danny Elfman with accompaniment. Credits: Trumpet: Anthony Higham Tenor Saxophone: Brandon Pettis Arranged and Produced by Anthony Higham Video Edited by Brandon Pettis Please don't hesitate to reply with any song requests with this instrumentation!
  4. Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post, but this is a bit of an "art" project to me. I've been making a VGM "Fake Book" (it's like a compilation of charts with rhythm notation, chord charts, and two monophonic voices harmonized in a typical jazz arrangement style), and I wanted to share the progress with OCR in case anyone could get some use out of it. I suppose, in some sense, this is my "visual art project" relating to game music. It is a labor of love, so it is incomplete but entries are always being added to it. I'm in the phase of adding the finalized products to the book (many pieces are already transcribed/reharmonized and just lacking final draft) and would love some feedback from the community. I'm not making the whole book available to the public, but I'd like to share some excerpts and see what you think! Table of contents: I've included a .pdf file of "Dark World" from A Link to the Past. You'll notice that my sheets are made into two main sections: "Head" Think of the top line as the main melody, second line as optional harmony/counterpoint. "Vamp" The top line is what most of the accompaniment is providing in the source recordings, but re-voiced/re-harmonized in some instances that I found necessary. I didn't just sit with these pieces and add "7"s to every chord to make it "jazz". The basslines are an attempt to make a 1-1 transference of some bass lines if I find them particularly iconic (it may not be up to me to judge), but may be simplified in some places for "ease of use". The notes are written with an "X" instead of a traditional note-head because I wanted these to indicate rhythm as well, not just pitch. There are chords notated above the top line of the "Vamp". I believe them all to be accurate and have taken some liberties (but nothing too out there) where I heard implied harmony. I was mostly looking out for improvisers and guitarists. The idea was to have the pieces as informative as possible, while also making a clean and comprehensive chart that is easy to sight read. You can take this info and rearrange it for so many mixed groups! I am looking for feedback in the following areas: Ease of Use Accuracy of Melody Harmonic Interpretation Legibility/Comprehension Anyone taking the time to review and critique would have my personal thanks and I'd be happy to provide them more sheets for their time (if interested). Thank you! VGM Fake Book - Dark World.pdf
  5. Super Mario World 'Super Mario's Sleigh Ride' Sorry about not getting to the late Christmas Eve mixes earlier I've been with my family and playing with all of my new stuff. Now, to the ReMix - What can I say? It's just some REALLY well done live video game music action It's really fun to listen to to. The OneUp Mushrooms cover several Super Mario World tunes here. It's a must download Super highly recommended. I respect these guys a whole lot. I've always dreamed of playing live video game music with some buds, and these guys fulfilled my dream, but for themselves. It's all worth it, though!
  6. Here is a remix I am spending time on, so far the sequence is coming together but I would like to open this up as a collaboration. This remix is the song shortly after the prologue in the Sega CD classic "Snatcher". I would record my bass for this but I am having some gain or pickup issues that I'm hoping to get fixed soon. I can make a shared folder with tracks set for each instrument. I'll post my latest mix and the original tracks below to give an example. Thanks for listening and your criticism is welcome! 7. For those of you wanting/needing a woodwind player or a bass guitarist, I really want to play for you. If you have a vision of the end product, I can help get you there. I have been playing for 15 years, and I love helping people in this community out. For reference, here is me playing saxophone and bass on an album my band recently released on Overclocked Records Here is another on the same album - much more work done here. I am flexible, and would love to talk to you about your musical needs! Let me know if I can do anything for you. - Aaron Schmitt -
  8. Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums but would love to share some of the work I've done with my group Becoming Elephants. It's got a musical vibe similar to some video game soundtracks like Castlevania/Mega Man/TMNT but also some modern sounds that draw influence from progressive rock, metal, and jazz fusion. It's all instrumental and our first album is a concept album. Hope you enjoy it! It's available in it's entirety for streaming on Soundcloud, YouTube, and Spotify. Thanks!
  9. Hey guys, it's Nom This is my latest work and i'm quiet satisfied with this remix. The original : Undertale OST: 068 - Death by Glamour My remix : Death by Glamour (Sax remix) What do you guys think ? Is it good enough ? Or is there any part that doesn't fit or miss ? Any feedbacks are welcome
  10. Here's a lil thing I did a few months ago from Klonoa. Soprano and tenor saxophones.
  11. The original version of this song, as you may be aware is very uptempo. Does it work as a slower, "jazz lounge" sort of piece? Realistically, I'm probably done with this piece in particular, but I am looking to hear what people think the major flaws are, and what sorts of things should I be thinking about to improve in future works. I know music theory is a weakness -- I mostly go with what sounds good to me (but I guess I don't have a perfect ear?). Also, I only actually play sax, so I think that I'm probably doing all sorts of incorrect/odd things with the VSTis for piano, drums, vibraphones, or bass.
