Ramaniscence
Phase II: Requests ========================================= We're now entering Phase II, which is the songs/games request stage. It is important to remember a few key points... You MUST include SOME form of source tunes. THE MORE SOURCES, THE BETTER. You are STRONGLY ADVISED to try AS HARD AS YOU CAN to provide a midi file. IF YOU PROVIDE A MIDI FILE, YOU INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD YOUR SONG WILL GET DONE. See VGMusic.com for details. In Phase II EACH USER ONLY GETS 1 REQUEST. ONE. UNO. DO NOT MAKE MORE THAN 1 REQUEST. IF YOU DO I MAY EVEN IGNORE ALL YOUR REQUESTS. IGNORANCE is NOT an excuse. When posting sources please be sure to respect the boards policy on piracy. We will be working with users and mixers to best ensure that your sources are viable. I reserve the right to REJECT your request for any which reason including, but not limited to: Insufficient source, over remixed, overt obscurity, unrealistically difficult, and a long long list of other things. Don't be dumb. Seriously. As the people requesting this contest is, in essence FOR YOU as much as it is for the mixer. If you really and truly want to see some stellar results. TAKE YOUR TIME and DO THIS RIGHT. Be AS THOROUGH AS YOU FEEL NEED BE. That's all I got for now. Have at it.
starla
During Phase 2 each user is only allowed 1 challenge. Please remember, you're challenging someone to remix this song because you want to hear it mixed. Please don't request something impossible or over-remixed. This is your chance to get your favorite under-remixed song some love! I'll start off requesting Labrynth Zone for Sonic 1. http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sega/genesis/s1_labyrinth.mid -- Plenty of source midis of this over at http://vgmusic.com. http://www.zophar.net/download.php?file=gym/sonic.rar -- Here's the original in GYM format. You will need a winamp plugin or program to play this, available at http://www.zophar.net/utilities/gym.html ... good old Zophar's.

Sole Signal
Game: Ken Griffey Jr.'s Major League Baseball Song: Play Ball! (track 02 on the soundtrack) SPC: http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profile=set&selected=1373 This track would be a heck of a challenge (haven't been able to find a midi anywhere), but it'd be worth it. DjSammyG
http://www.zophar.net/download.php?file=/zsnes/spc/btoad-bm.rar The file is title.spc Battletoads in Battlemaniacs. Title theme. So fucking metal. [EDIT] The midis for this theme are all very inaccurate, as far as I know. None of them have the intro, which I think is essential to the song, and the guitar riffs and bass notes are mostly, if not all, off. So get yourself some chipamp and lissen good. I'll post a midi for the people who might need it, but mark my words. I better hear that intro in your mix. http://tinpan.fortunecity.com/mercury/728/SNES/bt-theme.mid
friendlyHunter
Game: Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages Songs: Either "Dungeon 3, Moonlit Grotto" or "Crescent Island", or both - plus any other songs from the game (in addition to one of the previous ones). This game has many songs that are very short, and quite catchy. Source: http://www.zophar.net/download.php?file=gbs/zeldaooa.zip (My version of ChipAmp cannot play Game Boy music for some reason, so I do not know the exact track names) Midis: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gameboy/index-gr.html "Level 3 - Moonlit Grotto" is a very inaccurate midi. "Level 3 - Moonlit Grotto (2)" seems to be accurate, but has drums added on top that completely change its mood. "Crescent Island" is inaccurate. "Crescent Island (2)" sounds accurate to me. "Tokay's House" - this song, along with the two themes I have requested, plays on Crescent Island; and this midi happens to sound accurate as well. I'll provide MP3s if needed. Yuiopdude
OOH OK! Monobrow
Brandish... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD specifically: DARK ZONE <------- try this one out But keep in mind that if you listen to all the level songs (tower, cave, etc.) many are in the same key and use the same theme somewhat. SO there is plenty of material to work with. http://www.zophar.net/download.php?file=/zsnes/spc/brandish.rar <--- spc
Polo
Game: The Maze of Galious, a.k.a. Daimashikyou Galious System: MSX (original), NES (port) Song: Castle - Knightmare VG Music MIDI (MSX version, more complete than the NSF) Zophar's Domain NSF - Track 1 Akumu's NSF Archive NSF (as Maze of Galious 2) - Track 3 Fudeba MSX HomePage MIDI (slow tempo, but only as complete as the NSF) The NES version is faster and has a small part of the song cut out, but the MSX original maintains the general melody, so it's not too different overall. Thanks, and have fun.

Lanodantheon
I dedicate this challenge to the memory of Reuben Kee *Throw Down Gauntlet* Game: Metal Gear Solid Platform: PSX Song: Rex's Lair Source Tune: Sorry, couldn't find a midi. However, this song should ber easy to replicate....but challenging to remix. My rationale for selecting this song is thus: 1. There aren't many MGS songs on the site. 2. This song is my personal favorite from the MGS soundtrack besides The Best is Yet to Come. I consider it to be a near perfect song already because it is littered with symbolism and I just like it. 3. I thought it would be not impossible to remix, but Challenging. Have fun if it's not rejected.

It's pretty similiar to THIS: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/mgs-Escape.mid As it's simple chords and most of the chords are heard their, just sped up. Maybe someone could even make us a midi of just the chords, but it'll fly for now.

Oni-91
Song: Pluto From: DDR SuperNOVA 2 Source: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jwG7VrNxNis MP3: http://zenius-i-vanisher.com//simfiles/DanceDanceRevolution%20SuperNOVA2/Pluto.zip (contains MP3, among GFX, steps, etc) Yeah, sorry I couldn't get a MIDI for it, mainly because one hasn't been made yet. I chose it because DDR's been pretty unrepresented here, and I thought that this track has some potential for a great mix. Also, it's not that complex, so I guess that transcripting it wouldn't be that difficult.
