We're more likely to see it if you include "RESUB" or "resubmission" in the subject line or body of the email. The only change in the judging process is that resubmissions skip the waiting line and ge

It says May.

Yeah, just let me know in a DM what you have a question about, and we'll investigate it.

Oh wait it's "ASK a judge"... In the form of a question:

Someone added Sky Diver, Inside Her to the recently rejected list without moving the decision, yes?

The last vote was a while ago, so it showed up several pages behind. Next time we do that, I'll try to bump the thread so it shows up more recently.

Two questions, and they will seem pretty strange.

I saw someone on the wip boards making an arrangement of the theme they heard on an FFXIII trailer about a year ago. Would you guys YES something before the game even came out?

And just for kicks, what would you say about

Probably, yes. However if it turns out it isn't in the game when that comes out we'd remove it. :nicework:

We got a Mirror's Edge sub of "Still Alive" (the other one) before the game came out, but after it was known that the song would be in the game, so yeah upcoming games are ok. We'd just want to be sure the song will actually be in the game before we pass it, and not just used as trailer music.

For anyone *cough*Brad*cough* that complains that judging surely can't take up very much time, I have just spent the past hour and 45 minutes voting on TWO mixes. Some of this crap is just complicated. Even with my newfound voting leniency.

I'm not complaining, I just thought I'd throw that out there to address anyone who thinks that voting is something that can't take more than 10-15 minutes.

After reading all 34 pages of this thread, I just have one question for the judges.

Say a submission is only OK in production (EQ etc), and the instruments used could be a little better, but the song is very good musically and very creative.

  1. Is it possible for a song like this to still get a YES?
  2. Would it be more likely to get a NO (RESUBMIT) than a song with opposite problems? (i.e. good producing, great instruments, lacking musically)

OK, that was two questions. :<

1. Sure. We just passed a song like this.

2. Can't give you a blanket answer like that, it really depends on how good the producing or arrangement is. One can compensate for the other, but only to a certain extent. I will say we don't get that many subs with great production that are lacking musically (it's rare to see someone who can produce well but doesn't have a melodic ear), but often we get great-sounding subs that are too liberal or conservative with the source material.

This is one of the very best remixes in the community, to boot.

Are you kidding? The production is a little rough on it, but Ninjascape is not a good example of what JasonP27 is asking about. These are, though: http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01032/ and http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01482/

...I honestly thought those had equal or better production than Ninjascape! :P

EDIT: How about http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01211/ then?

The reason Yannibubula got judged so quickly was because BGC could post the track directly into the panel, without having to go through the inbox, right? Just curious about the process. :)

But really I just wanted to give you guys props for picking up the judging pace, and the front-page posting.. there's now, often one or even two new tracks for me when I check the front page. Very nice.

Mainly, yes--just one of the perks that Judges get. However, it also helps that I'd had several of them check it out in IRC beforehand, and also that it was a remix of a well known source, so it's not like there needed to be any extensive research on the source material, and usage, and all that jazz. However, you'll notice that it still took ~3 months once I posted it, which isn't that far off of the average once a song reaches the panel from the inbox.

ohooo one I can answer!!! ^_______^

even when songs are voted as *YES* they still aren't guaranteed to be posted until they actually are on the front page. Not posting the *YES* threads just makes it so mixers don't get all excited, only to have their hopes dashed if something comes up. TO my knowledge, it's never happened (at least not as long as i've been visiting the site), but it's still a good policy.

There are others? :-o

Happened recently with a sub we passed that turned out to be stolen from a commercial album.

I think this has happened once, and it had to do with sixto's first remix; the castlevania one.
