CHz
:FURAT: Hey, awesome to see this finally get posted. Making me like the Wild Arms opening theme, pretty fantastic, this is why I listen to remixes. I seriously can't get enough of this arrangement of the theme. Dhsu
People who don't like the Wild ARMS theme don't qualify as human beings. >:[ This is very nice, far above what I was expecting from the fruits of an introductory college orchestration course. Just wish it was longer... Hope to hear more in the future.
Kaleb.G
In addition to persuading Paul to submit it here (and doing the actual submission work myself), I also came up with the title for the arrangement. Of course, Paul retains full credit for the music. I think it's an excellent arrangement and a great performance. I only wish the recording was a bit better, though it's still good. I love Naruke's work, and Paul made a wonderful homage. I submitted this in April of 2007. It's been a while, but I'm glad it's finally here! =}
CHz
Oh, almost forgot. There's a video of the performance: At 0:10, far right, that's Paul with the glasses and cello looking at the camera.
John Revoredo
I was about to ask "Hey, what software did you use?" LOL Luckily i read up to the "...who with the assistance of the University of Manitoba Symphony Orchestra has provided OC ReMix with our first LIVE orchestral ReMix! " Awesome arrangement. It makes me feel like a n00b.
anosou
Very expressive arrangement and performance. An OCR-milestone
Sixto
Fantastic! I love it, it's such a moving piece. Instant favorite.

Thrull
Really amazing performance. I reflexively wanted to clap at the end of the video, but nobody's going to hear that, so: /standing ovation.

Sil
Amazing stuff. Good counterpoint and good doublings all around. I'm jealous that you got such a great sound out of your orchestra.
oakthielbar
I must say, I'm very impressed. I was expecting the average piece of junk cheese that gets posted for orchestral pieces, but the orchestration and arrangement were actually very good. I had no intention of ever posting on OCR again, but this was just too good to not compliment. The violins fudged a couple of spots and the tone changes a bit too abruptly for me right after the climax, but all in all, I'd say this may be the best orchestral arrangement ever posted here. Keiseth
It coerced me to actually log in and post; that speaks highly of its quality! The Wild Arms theme of all songs... a fantastic choice. It appeals to my love of the violin, too. Awesome work!
BM_Gecko
Fantastic. Worthy of my first post ever here.
Moguta
Congratulations OCR on your first live orchestral mix ever! May it be a sign of things to come. And very nice work Mr. Levasseur! This truly is a quality arrangement, quite more reworked than the orchestral covers we tend to hear performed in concert these days.
Palpable
Amazing stuff, performance and arrangement. A treat for this site.
big giant circles
Score! (anyone catch that pun?) This is really beautiful. Great contribution to the site, Paul! (what's with the kid at 3:19?)
Kaleb.G
(what's with the kid at 3:19?) Audience noise. But at least that's better than what happened with another orchestral piece Paul composed. During the performance, some bitch kept coughing and you could totally hear it throughout the recording. That's the problem with having a small room for performing. pixlz
heh, i haven't been to this site in a while. its nice to see my favorite musical theme get a most excellent live arrangement. loved the violin. kudos. ^_______^
MegaTroopX
That was beautiful! I hope he takes on more games, and achieves his ambition to compose for them. He could be Canada's Uematsu.
Thrull
Score! (anyone catch that pun?) This is really beautiful. Great contribution to the site, Paul! (what's with the kid at 3:19?) If you try hard enough, it can sound like a crow going "caw." Kinda adds to the solemn atmosphere that way.
SoulinEther
If you try hard enough, it can sound like a crow going "caw." Kinda adds to the solemn atmosphere that way. Never thought of it that way, and it makes the piece all the more... profound. I'm still listening to it "all nekkid n stuff", btw. Nice work. Martin Penwald
Listening to this song on headphones makes the problems with this recording obvious, but to be honest, it doesn't really matter that much. This is a very nicely arranged piece of music, and having it played by a live orchestra is great, despite the minor problems of the recording. Good job.
