endblink Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I am proud to say that I feel this was done in large part to a comedic straight man/funny man flood between Lord Gerald and myself. This song rules for that reason and the fact that that's actually a Pepsi bottle being used in the tune (if I remember correctly! ) Quote
dilbert627 Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! This song is too happy! Yeah, it should definitely make you smile. The only bad thing is, it's too short. It probably could have gone another verse with more development, but oh well. Still a fun song. Quote
Weirdboyscott Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I remember playing this game way back when I was around eight years old or so, this song brings back memories, oldschool awesomeness! Quote
Bagel Fuzzynuts Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I played the hell out of this game, and I still own it. (Perhaps I'll bring it back up with me next time I'm home?) It reminds me of the Magicant theme from Earthbound. Definately a cool mix. Quote
Kadosho Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 This tune would make Tommy Tallarico proud. Plus its a great classic title that anyone must have played during the SNES days.Sweet old-school style. Quote
Ffej Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Rented this game on Genesis. It owned. Good mix, though it seems a bit BEER-ish. Quote
Kamikaze Noodle Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I could never beat that evil demon of a game, but this goofy little mix still brings back memories. Tons of charm is all it takes to make a simple song a great listen. I like. Quote
PlatformerMastah Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Goofy is definitely the word to describe this remix. When I first listened to it, however, I was kind of disappointed in it, but once it hit the vocals, then I knew this remix is really high quality. Very catchy, feel-good stuff here. You should check it out if you need some cheering up. And for some reason, I just cannot stop listening to this. When a song does that to you, you know it's worth checking out. Quote
Dark Phazon Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 This song rules for that reason and the fact that that's actually a Pepsi bottle being used in the tune (if I remember correctly! ) The Pepsi bottle makes some sense because Pepsi owns 7up outside of the US and some Pepsi bottlers make 7up. Got that at http://www.salutetosoda.com I don't remember ever playing this game, so I never heard this theme until now. The music feels like it could fit in Super Mario Sunshine easily, with that summertime feel. The whistling near the end is real neat. Overall, this is a really cool song, and deserves a picture of a bald guy's thumbs up. Quote
bLiNd Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 mazedude is the most creative mutha out there, great job mang Quote
spacepony Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Mazedude, Very nice. I love the harmonies in this. I haven't heard the original but the quality shines through here. Perhaps the most impressive thing is the way you restrained yourself between 0.52/0.54. It’s nice to see something in complete contrast to your last remix. I’m not sure Sagat would approve of this, and if he did, he’d probably listen too it with headphones so no one would know. Excellent work. Quote
Xelebes Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 k... I remember this game. It so damn hard and yet fun. I was about to do an abstract remix of the ravetune off of Coolspot. It turned out SMB3 airship tune is better for that stuff.... anyhoo... fun mix anyways. Quote
flipsideshooze Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 man... this rocks. I love it when that voice comes in... very cool. Quote
Ferret Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Very short, but since level tracks don't need to be 10 minutes long, very good work. Nice and easy, not too happy but it'll get your spirits up. Quote
Covak Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 An amazingly fun little song, thanks to the awesome arranging. Mazedude rocks (I'm a big fan of the rockin Doom 2 remixes). Quote
mern Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Almost makes me want to sing Led Zeppelins' "D'yer Mak'r". "Oh, oh oh oh, oh, oohhh...I won't let you go....." Quote
Psycrow Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Kinda short, kinda simple, and whatever instrument was used for the melody is rather annoying-- i don't know if it's the EQ or my speakers or what "Happy" alone isn't enough to pull this one through IMO. C'mon, Mazey, you can do better! Quote
xamgis Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 This was cool...such a light-hearted work...a great summer song... Quote
Eccles Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Briliant piece... i would have preferred the vocals to have been louder, perhaps...they get drowned out by the steel drums and...is that a sample of someone blowing a bottle top? The fadeout seemed to come a little quick and if I had done the track I would have tried to get a proper ending in...but that said, the current isnt bad. Quote
Joshua Morse Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 I find that Mazedude consistently adds much needed flavor and variety to his tracks. And this one is no exception. Quote
Anders Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 Overall, this is a really cool song, and deserves a picture of a bald guy's thumbs up. ^ I can't get over that. Great, great song to listen to when you need a quick pick-me-up. Catchy voicing lends a lot of character to the whole thing. I remember renting the game a few times, trying to spell UNCOLA in the bonus stages.....good times..... They coulda made a sequel with the release of dnL, but oh well. As I said, great work, love to hear more. *runs off to ebay to look for used Cool Spot game* Quote
Bill Cosby Presents Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 This game is flippin sweet. Its got real style! When I was a kid I played it a bunch....oh yeah the song was cool too! Quote
PotatoeCS Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 man i still listen to this song still ever since last year!! such a great song *applauds* Quote
