Shael, pat your band buddies on the back for me, will you?

Seriously, when I first listened to this track in-game, I was shocked because it sounded so awesome. I didn't recall being that attracted to the Asphalt version this much (no offense to the original remixer) so I kept wondering whether the HD version was a completely new track or the same one remastered. Also, I noticed "The Grammar Club" in the game's credits and kept wondering which track did you guys contribute to.

Anyway, enough of my blabbering. Loving this track. Don't have anything in particular to complain about aside from Capcom's "short length" stipulation.

I'm not sure about this one. I'm loving the arrangement, it has lots of energy.

The sounds don't quite mesh well to me tho, I'm especially not a fan of that guitar sound :(

Don't take that the wrong way tho, I do like it :D

Not to mention I haven't played the game - YET. If it works with the game - and it does very well according to reviewers here - thats good enough for me :D

The bass tone alone has that Zangief sweat n' muscles all over it. I also like the guitar tone: I don't think it needs more power, more flash, more wank or anything. It's gritty, rough, indie, and totally friggin awesome in a totally mad-Russian-fighter way. This is the right song for someone who trains in Siberia, probably wrestling with polar bears without the use of cheesy karate and fireballs.

Again, Shael gets it all.

Edit: Wait, are there any polar bears in Siberia?

There is one person above me that should stop talking.

Very hot song, Mr. Riley and company. This is very much making me want to drop the money to buy the game that I probably won't really play anyways just to hear it in the game.

Fuck the haters, Grammar Club is sexy.

Hardly, I like most of the work Shael did on this project, but this song seriously ruined the game for me. There were a few tracks I was iffy about while playing the game, but this one sealed the deal. I had to exit my game and switch the soundtrack to classic, if only to avoid having to hear this come up again. No offense, but Zangief's theme is as sacred as Sagat's to me, and I'm just keeping it real.

Great arrangement, it's loose and burly, just like Zangief is (or so I hear), and I really love the scratching breakdown. I do agree that the lead guitar could have used a touch more sustain, but it does have a pretty distinct indie vibe to it. THe punctuated sections near the end were great, very strong work there.

Mastering is like Clamato in that it is super hot and I needed to reduce my normal listening volume a lot. Not a huge fan of that, but it's probably just the Capcom way of making sure it sounded uniform on all TVs.

Nice work guys, keep on rocking. :-)

I'm curious as to why Red Cyclone added to OCR's library seems to be little more then a merging of the 2 seperate Red Cyclone mixes found in the new album? seems a little silly to me...

Some fans only download singles mixes, some grab entire albums. We post individual mixes created for our albums all the time. Nothing precludes an arrangement from an album being posted to the site just because it was on an album. Otherwise, no tracks from our other 11 albums would be posted as individual mixes. Albums aren't required to meet individual OC ReMix standards for interpretation or production, so being posted as a solo mix is another matter entirely.

...and I thought the instrumental was good. :<

I've had multiple tell me that this mix really brought out the best of the source -- bringing to light a song that was previously unlistenable and forgettable, and turning into something infinitely more enjoyable and memorable.

This really sums up what they've done with Zangief's theme better than I could have.

The vocals really add another layer of awesomeness to a good mix.

I also agree w/ Swordbreaker. can we get some lyrics? Please and thanks.

I just realized that there was a vocal version...despite Dave mentioning it in the write up awhile back. Excellent vocals. Loving it a lot more than the instrumental. Care to give me the lyrics, Shael? :P

Curse you Grammar club!

You broke every single bone in my body when I was blown away by this impenetrably awesome track.

Can we get some lyrics?

Pretty please?

It's not perfect, but this is what I've pulled from the song so far:

From the highest mountain to the deepest sands

Yo I got the kind of moves

Make you clap your hands

Full of trained [super supers??] like it's on demand

The kind of discipline none of you could understand

Every day is a challenge

Every day is a test

Traveled all the way here just to prove I'm the best

March into this land and it's in the victory

Me holding the ground is just how its supposed to be

Bring on the game is on

Bring the take down

If ya ass beat'em then I'm going to right now

Shut the match in the closet, your shot

Skills too weak for the strength I've got

With just one move I will take you down

'Cause allow me to introduce you to the ground

Extra large when I take to the skies

Will suprise most but I'm leaving here with the prize

I've wrestled with my demons

Wrestled with bears

At this altitude nobody compares

Hit you with the sleeper

Then I broke some wrists

Nothing like the pound that I hold in my fist

Always like my odds

Even one against a million

You should not be confused

'Cause I've never been the villain

Don't know what to call me

You can call me what they call me back home

Red Cyclone

Life is a battle and

It isn't over until I say so

[son this is?] me and you

You're gonna be my tornado

And I don't know why

I live to fight

Stuff it in right with a bottle of vodka

Burly man laugh if you're done it will sock ya

Not here for dough but I'll drop the elbow

Breaking you in half when a [??] fiasco?

Check here right now

Check your pulse

I'm here to stay

While you're out like a ghost

Pretty young things just get in the way

'Cause I'm not here for work baby this is just play

I get a little more hardcore

Over here

It's all in the fear

The name you revere

Every challenger

I bring them down

Throw'em through the panel

Exposed at what's happened

And you better change the channel

Always like my odds

Even one against a million

You should not be confused

'Cause I've never been the villain

Don't know what to call me

You can call me what they call me back home

Red Cyclone

Life is a battle and

It isn't over until I say so

[son this is?] me and you

You're gonna be my tornado

And I don't know why

I live to fight

I don't know why

I live to fight
