LuketheXjesse
I remember Gundam Wing being awesome. Also 08th MS Team and G Gundam. I...uh, think that's it.
Malaki-LEGEND.sys
08th MS Team, Gundam 0080 War in The Pocket, and Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory are about all there is. I guess you'd want to watch the original Gundam for a reference point to know what's going on though.
Avatar of Justice
So, I'm almost done rewatching Gundam SEED Destiny and I have to ask, can someone remind why we're supposed to hate it so much? I've found it to only be pure awesome the second go around, as opposed to being dissatisfied with it the first time.
Weirdboyscott
Gundam 00 was pretty good, though I was trying to watch it on Syfy and they're not too good with handling animes... they would randomly change up their schedule and play a couple episodes on a different night, or suddenly switch to playing 4 episodes a night instead of two without any notice at all. Before I had my DVR there were about 2 weeks where I was recording Gundam 00 on my VCR and I only ended up recording the regular hour of programming they had and just being generally confused as to what was going on the next week when I missed two episodes without knowing it. Not to mention I read that Syfy cuts the credits sequences off, as well as any extra animation that followed, which still lead to confusion even though I was DVR'ing each episode. All and all it was a pretty good anime with plenty of interesting characters, mecha design, and some pretty amazing technology like the orbital elevator. Brushfire
Brushfire your room is an anime convention in itself, you have no right to talk down to Anime.Or are you going for irony here? Ironic of course, also I like to bait the fanboys. Strictly from an outsider's view, anime has some serious problems. The quality of animation is horrrid, the plot caves in on itself far too often, most glaring, people are too eager to embrace it and not look at it with a criticizing eye. There are several animes out there that don't suck, but they are far outweighed by the crap. Think of anime as a Wii. There are worthy titles, but most it is the worst thing ever. PS I hate everything until it prooves itself good.
relyanCe
recent anime has been pretty good actually except 00 S2 and Code Geass of course
OverCoat
Except Anime movies somehow have less budget than their TV counterpart.Anime movies suck. Which anime movies have you been watching? Have you seen Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society? IIRC Production IG had all this money after making the SAC series, and with their budget they were debating on using it to make another GitS series, or a full length movie. They went ahead with the movie and it is quite good. Meanwhile, I finished Sketchbook Full Color's, and unnecessary apostrophes aside, it was unbelievably cute. Kinda reminded me of my own high school.
Native Jovian
god i knew someone was gonna say this why didn't i edit in that i liked that part EXCELLENT. You may live. This time. No anime needs to copy Zeta Gundam. Ever. Lots of teenage whining and shallow romances. This is a scientifically verified fact. Sadly, many Gundam fans see Zeta as the pinnacle of the franchise. Obviously, many Gundam fans are idiots. Are their any other Gundams besides SEED that are worth watching? It depends on why you liked Seed. The full-length UC series (Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta Gundam are the only ones that have been dubbed or released outside of Japan, though you can find ZZ and Victory online if you look hard enough) suffer from dated animation and are largely painful to watch if you aren't already a Gundam fan. The OVAs, however, are generally pretty good -- 08th MS Team is the closest to a real war drama that Gundam's ever gotten (that is, it involves grunt soldiers fighting in a backwards theater of conflict, rather than Newtype ace pilots single-handedly winning the war in super powerful Gundams); 0080 focuses on the effects of the war on a civilian kid in a neutral space colony and is more plot-heavy than other Gundam shows; 0083 is complete and utter bilge except for the mecha porn (it's actually quite improved by watching it on mute with no subtitles). The movie, Char's Counterattack, won't make any sense to you unless you've already seen Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta Gundam. The other movie, F91, is crap because it's basically the first 15-or-so episodes of a full length series crammed into the space allowed by a two hour movie. G Gundam is shamelessly super robot -- the plot can be summarized as "deciding which country rules the world via a martial arts tournament in giant robots". If you think that's really awesome or completely retarded, that's probably how you'll feel about the series as a whole. Gundam X is pretty good, but you'll have to pick up a bootleg since it hasn't been brought over to the US yet. It's set 15 years after a war between Earth and the Space Colonies ended in a metric fuckton of colony drops that decimated both populations. It's got a nice post-apocalyptic feel, especially in the early episodes, though later on they move away from that. Whether you want to watch Seed's sequel, Gundam Seed Destiny, depends largely on how you felt about Kira and Co at the end of Seed. If you liked Seed because of Kira, you'll like Destiny. If you liked Seed in spite of Kira, you'll hate Destiny. Gundam 00 has lots of good mecha porn and the first season does some really interesting things to turn the standard Gundam premise on its head. Sadly, the second season suffers from snap-back against this effect and embraces every Gundam cliche ever with open arms. But it still has cool giant robots. Brushfire
Isn't Gundam the Japanese word for Crap? I dunno. Still Gundam is better than Candidate for Goddess. Also has anyone seen the trailers for the new Marvel Animes? Iron Man look straight but Wolverine looks like shit.
I-n-j-i-n
Meanwhile, I finished Sketchbook Full Color's, and unnecessary apostrophes aside, it was unbelievably cute. Kinda reminded me of my own high school. I absolutely loved Full Color's. Cute with a lot of character quirks. It's like a way more laid back version of Azumanga. Hyakko feels somewhat familiar too. That's because Candidate for Goddess, like nearly everything else Sugisaki has done, was never finished.

Gollgagh
So I just got through the first 5ive episodes of 07-Ghost. And I'm loving it. It has the animation style as Code Geass, with the feel of Trinity Blood. Anyone else see this one yet? oshi- 07-Ghost got an anime? I loved the crap out of the manga (even if you couldn't tell what was going on half the damned time) I think anime is probably the better medium for it
Geoffrey Taucer
Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo I watched the first episode of this and absolutely loved it; laughed my ass off from start to finish. Then I watched the next couple episodes and thought they were dumb as shit, and stopped watching the series. As for FLCL, I've only seen a few episodes, but I cannot figure out why so many people love that show so much. Perhaps I just caught the wrong snippets of the wrong episodes. Perhaps I just caught the wrong snippets of the wrong episodes. I've never seen FLCL either except the first, but I've heard people say quite thoughtfully that it might make sense if they tried watching it backwards, so I have a feeling most people just like the general weird nonsensical factor or something. Native Jovian
As for FLCL, I've only seen a few episodes, but I cannot figure out why so many people love that show so much. Perhaps I just caught the wrong snippets of the wrong episodes. It only is a few episodes. The series is six episodes total. The reason why people like it (or, well, at least the reason I like it) is because it's a fun combination of humor, action, and random mindfuck. Except that the mindfuck actually makes sense (in the sense that it's self-consistent and means something, at least). so I have a feeling most people just like the general weird nonsensical factor or something. No, that's Evangelion fans. Though the two shows were by the same studio. Eva is random insanity that seems like it should make sense but doesn't; FLCL is random insanity that seems like it shouldn't make sense but does.
cobaltstarfire
You make it seem like said people have never seen Eva or wouldn't like it, most of the ones who have said FLCL backwards might make more sense were pretty avid friends of Eva, actually they were pretty big fans of both for different reasons. And Eva isn't really that nonsensical, but judging what you've said in the past you didn't really pay much attention since there wasn't enough random mecha battling and too much introspection.
