Chris McGee Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Ah, excellent. I've heard this on DarkeSword's website, but it's great to see it posted here. Very smooth and relaxing remix. I especially love the drumwork, and the transitions between the two songs. Quote
Sandman53 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 it's ok, i dont like it. but i dont dislike it. I do like how smooth it is Quote
jessthemullet Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I like it, but I am having trouble recognizing what the original songs were. I should know right off the top of my head, but I haven't played it for a few months. The flow of the piece is awesome. Good stuff. Quote
pixlz Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 awesome in the beginning. when it was starting to lose my interest it ended. remix job though seeeemed very spoon. think it'd be a nice track to loop and zone out to. Quote

ella guro Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Oh. I remember hearing this in the wip forum and I really liked it. There are minor things I noticed: like I think you went a bit overboard with your reverb, there are some minor mixing things with volume that may or may not because of my speakers - the electronic piano seems a little too loud, and the choir stabs are a little unnverving but used sparingly enough not to be annoying. When it gets to the guitar, I know you're trying hard to make it sound fairly realistic but it just ain't happening. You would've been better off just going with a different and more convincing sample. The big problem I have here is the inclusion of 600 AD - it does create a few odd note conflicts that aren't entirely noticable, but it's mainly just not expanded upon enough. And it's really a shame that this never really builds up to anything; you achieved a really nice sound with the manora cathedral part at the beginning and end, but never really expand upon your ideas, just ending the mix how it started. ILLiterate Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Oh god im loving this song. Its sorta a mix that I can only explain as having a fast paced beat collide with medium paced piano & a slow background that makes 1 hell of a remix. Incredible work done and easily one of my favorite remixes on the site. Final Score:10/10 Final Comment:Its like fast, medium & slow got together & made a kick ass remix Quote
Mr. Dillznick Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Wow even thouh i dont remember what song this is from and it ain't my favorite it just gave me that feeling again! That feeling I had when I finished CT for the 1st time! Great remix, very nice touch to it, keep it up you rock man! Quote
Sikkz Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 wonderful! very relaxing and sweet to the ears. then again, how can you go wrong when remixing songs from Chrono Trigger's incredible soundtrack? Good job! Quote
Xatos Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 My new favourite ct remix, rarely do i prefer the remix so much over the original.. I wish u could play the game with the remixes of this site:) Quote
Capn Foggy Dog Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Very calming. I highly enjoyed this re-mix and recomend it to anyone who is a fan of Chrono Trigger music or soft music for that matter. Good work, Cheers! Quote
damathacus Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 I didn't really give this a fair shake before. So many remixes posted at once, I just listened to them all through once, and this one sorta slipped by me. But hey, this is awesome! It's been awhile since there's been a really great Chrono Trigger tune. Good stuff, keep it up! Quote
100_PERCENT ROEMER Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Excellent! Smooth is the best word to describe it, and I like songs like that GREAT WORK! Have a cookie Quote
SoUnDoLe Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 One of Darkesworde's main criticisable features is lack of variety and the repeat of material that grows stagnant. This piece however has interest kept up all through it, and a very fresh feelas new parts are added or swapped. Clever instrumentation. Quote
Timaeus Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 I rather enjoyed the chanting in this piece. It really made the song feel ancient in nature and fit well with a cathedral environment. I loved the transitions. The song is an awsome one, and should not be touched. Quote
RoeTaKa Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Sometime when I look at music I wonder if it could be used in the game itself. I could see this piece as being a sort of morale boost for inspiring your party to try and finish the evil, and thats what i like about this, or it could be a Frog piece for the game. Quote
Phycowolf Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 Now this is a REMIX!!!! YEAH! I love it! It sounds so awesome with a perfect mix of fast pace beat and a slow relaxing tune that just forces me to give this remix a 10/10 yeah! It sounds so wonderful throughout. the beggining almost made me loose intrest...but 9 seconds into it...I was in remix heaven! awesome! Quote
dj muffin man Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 easy to listen to like the voice it's quite slow but fast in some parts overal it's class Quote
kanchou Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 it just ocurred to me after listening to this for an umpteenth time... the Ahh ambience at the beginning after the percussion begins is a variation on the Chrono theme string intro. Quote

Faluna Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 I happen to love your remixes! Can't wait to see and hear, what you come up with next! Quote
SirRus Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Weird that I haven't commented on this song, since it was the one that introduced me to OCR and led to me emailing Shariq to learn all that I could about the world of remixing. Shariq - I sitll listen and love this song. I have lost myself for literally hours in the world you have created with this piece, and I will never tire of revisiting it. Just thought I would go ahead and throw my support for Shariq into the mix, as this is my favorite song by him. Quote
