Water Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Hello. I have a question. The YouTube music previews no longer work. YouTube states that "This account has been suspended due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, scams and commercially deceptive content." when I look for the account. What happened, and will it be fixed? Thanks.
Jason Covenant Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I just checked, and I'm getting the same message.
Obtuse Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 stupid youtube. Hopefully this will be an easy dispute to deal with.
JadeAuto Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 It's no longer saying suspended, it's saying terminated. This isn't cool. I wonder what happened. I'm sure the admins will let us know what kind of drama they're going through when they have a moment. I will say, whoever caused this, shame on them.
Jason Covenant Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I will say, whoever caused this, shame on them. It's probably due to false flagging. There are many people that don't know what derivative works or Fair Use are.
Nonamer Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Now how am I supposed to find out about the next OCRemix album release? Hope this get's resolved fast.
VNilla Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 This was sudden; it was working yesterday! ;(
WillRock Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Still says suspended for me. The staff are aware of the issue - hopefully it will be sorted out soon enough
Cody Wedel Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 This was sudden; it was working yesterday! ;( That's what I was thinking too. Every few months or so, I'll stumble upon an OC ReMix on YouTube and have a blast listening to remixes and reading what users thought about 'em. Yesterday happened to be one of those days. Hopefully this'll be disputed/resolved soon or something.
Fishy Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Well this is stupid. If this is the result of a claim from a games company I will be very disappointed.
Ramaniscence Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 It's probably due to false flagging. There are many people that don't know what derivative works or Fair Use are. It's most likely a hack because the channel has this message: "This account has been suspended due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, scams and commercially deceptivecontent." That's not copyright. If it WERE copyright issue half of YouTube wouldn't exist. Regardless, there's a form for that: http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/request.py?contact_type=accountdisabled

And false flagging because many don't understand Fair Use is common. But you're right, a hack is a very likely possibility.
Dunther Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Well this is stupid. If this is the result of a claim from a games company I will be very disappointed. Maybe it's because every video links to this website, dunno.
Toktyn Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 My best guess so far is Youtube saw all the "videos" as being identical, possibly calling that spam. Whatever the truth is, my Youtube playlists are now much more sparse and sad.
Liontamer Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Maybe it's because every video links to this website, dunno. Nah, every popular channel links back to some sort of page in their videos. It must have been all the scams and commercially deceptive content we had, like the free music. It's been appealed, and I'll be following up on this.
Nabeel Ansari Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Maybe the hacker is just an angry OCReject.
VNilla Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 What's the current official statement regarding this issue? Also, way to ruin my peaceful weekend, YouTube. I was just gonna watch Desert Bus and listen to music but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Nabeel Ansari Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Also, way to ruin my peaceful weekend, YouTube. I was just gonna watch Desert Bus and listen to music but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Do you not have an mp3 player on your computer?

VNilla Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Do you not have an mp3 player on your computer? Well I do, but the youtubez are always faster for me...
myudoicp Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 That's sad, I have a LOT of embedded videos from that account into my social networks. When I saw everything not working, got really pissed off... Stupid youtube!
