meccaneer Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Can't go wrong with a little FF5 action - vastly under-appreciated soundtrack. And this style of music is oft-executed poorly. Nice job, man. Quote
Pandora Xero Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 some kick ass riffs in this one... you can't HELP but rock out to this one. I was listening to this one, and my bro's like "you're listening to a metal remix from chrono trigger!?" i'm like "NO, you noob, its CT, FFV, and several others and kicks the crap out of anything you could ever hope to make" (background info: my bro doesn't like game music remixes) I've been thinking of turning this one into replacement music for besieged in FFXI. Besieged is just about crazy enough to be worthy of a track like this... Quote
Stom Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Loved it. Even though the only FF8 song I have heard is "dont be afraid", I still loved this mix, really ctachy =P Quote
Bodomchild Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 The Gilgamesh music is probably my favorite song in the Final Fantasy series, and I've been dying to hear an good electric version. I must say this was the answer to my prayers. People who don't even play the games love this song. It covers like 5 genres of music into one song and i love that. You rock Quote
Exclamation Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 One of my favorite songs on this site, rocking its way through "Hunter's Chance," "Don't Be Afraid," "Battle on the Big Bridge" and so many more. I especially like the transition at 4:18 or so when it soars into FF7's "Those Who Fight." I love working out to it. Good stuff, LuIzA. Quote
RiftDoggy Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 This one rocks. It's one of the few songs that result in compulsive headbanging for me. The "Clash on the Big Bridge" portion easily beats The Black Mages version in terms of sheer awesomeness. Good work. And the ending was like nostalgia blasting its way into my ears. Go you. *Forces self to stop praising the song.* Quote
WesPip Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I'd obviously heard this song before, back when it was just posted, as was the custom at the time. But the other day, I was headed to work with my new, GOOD headphones, and it was the first time i'd really listened to the song. And it's awesome. The transitions between different songs are smooth and the guitar just plain rocks. Have to agree with the above point on Clash on the Big Bridge as well, though when I heard that, I had to check briefly to make sure my MP3 of that hadn't been randomly awesome'd-up when I wasn't looking. Quote
Mockingbird Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Awesome rock guitars, with a real polished feel to it. This is probably one of my top 5 favorite remixes of all time. Quote
jayc4life Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 I wasn't familiar with most of the original source material used on this track, but I listened on, and I must say wow. Even from not knowing the original, this is one astounding piece of work. Quote
Mirby Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 A solid remix IMHO. All songs are incorporated and it gives the feel of a battle against some sort of super-boss or something. Who knows, I may incorporate this, along with SNES Battle Medley in my game Relics of Nature's Fury... Quote
Xaleph Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Absolutely amazing work - This is one of those songs that I'll have on my iPod with 5 stars for quite some time. I haven't given reviews in a while, but this one simply takes my hat off. Great sound engineering, great guitar work, amazing drum work, very fluid transitions, pure emotion, and a great drive throughout the piece. 5 stars, no less. Quote
42 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 This is a roaring flood of awesome. Quoted for truth. I like how this comes out fast and furious. I especially like the motif at 0:13. I generally like mixes that are a melody, but this does an exceptionally well job of coherently stringing together and transferring from each theme. Also the electric guitar solo of the fanfare theme at the end is made of pure awesome. In short, Final Fantasy as power metal makes me go Quote
Platonist Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 wonderful! I've had this mix on my Walkman on and off the last couple of years .. though i think it lacks some production i can't really complain at anything, great blend of many great themes i want more L! Quote
cloudkitt Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 No other OCRemix makes me play more air guitar Quote
jayc4life Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I know I posted in here before already, but after listening to this a lot these last few months, it's stuff like this that makes me want to be good enough to play Clash on the Big Bridge on guitar. I'll do it.. some day.. Quote
glasfen Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I grabbed this one after hearing Strike of the Devil's Axes and was thoroughly impressed. This song is all over the place, covering so many different styles, but tying them all together beautifully. The guitar work is incredible. I love the acoustic/phaser section at 3:00 which slides into ska. The screaming dual guitars at 4:38 send shivers down my spine. I have to agree with cloudkitt about the air guitar factor. And that's the best rendition of FF victory music I've ever heard. Can I get that as a ringtone? Quote
Klowd1661 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Hahaha. Yes to the air-guitar bit, and yes to the fanfare for a ringtone. But all in all a spectacularily put together mix and driving so many different theme together within 6:45. Excellent stuff. Quote
HeavyHorse Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Easily one of my most favorite medleys to date. The part that rolls in about the middle is probably my favorite. Just the beat that gets started is astonishing. Hell, it even ends with the fanfare! Very clean too, can't stress that enough. Everything is extremely crisp and noticeable, very professional. Awesome job LuIzA. Quote
darkcodemonkey Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 What more can be said. compatibly, your version of both, Battle with Gilgamesh and Hunter's chance were far more superior as compared to the Black Mages version. I'm not saying theirs was bad, yours was just a LOT better. I don't think I have ever found a remix until now that my fingers got sore from too much air guitar. Air Guitarists around the world bow down to you. Great re-mix, keep up the good work. Quote
LuIzA Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 For no real reason, at least not anymore... I proudly present thee: NEO FIRE CROSS! a remade version of Fire Cross, now on my myspace (http://www.myspace.com/luiza177). Hope you dig Quote
Level 99 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 You already know how I feel about this song. I was speechless. Fourteen-thousand five-hundred and eighty-seven MASSIVE thumbs up! Quote

I proudly present thee:NEO FIRE CROSS! a remade version of Fire Cross, now on my myspace (http://www.myspace.com/luiza177). Hope you dig I LOVE. A leaner, meaner, greener, and cleaner version of one of the coolest metal medleys ever (try saying that three times fast). Quote
