Kenobio Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I also hated Cowboy Bebop and can't understand why everyone loves it. Oh well. THIS EXPLAINS MUCH. Nah, just kidding. You're right--to each his own. Quote
Gafgarion Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 I would like a 3rd Season of Genshiken to be announced, because it left off to a part that can be deeply continued. Much doujinshi will be made if it is continued. Quote
Brushfire Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Darker Than Black was about the worst anime I have ever seen in my entire life. Now Shin-chan is awesome. Quote
Knives Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Darker Than Black was about the worst anime I have ever seen in my entire life. Then you must have never seen Zombie Loan, nothing could be worse than that. Quote
tgfoo Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Then you must have never seen Zombie Loan, nothing could be worse than that. I don't even think Zombie Loan was the worst anime that came out that season, let alone ever. Having said that... yeah, it was pretty bad. Quote
Brushfire Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Zombie Loan eh? That sounds like it would be quite a fun thing to see. "Good morning sir, and welcome to the 1st National Bank of the Undead. How may I help you?" "I'd like to take a loan of 50 Zombies out please." Quote
MisterBiggler Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Then you must have never seen Zombie Loan, nothing could be worse than that. haha I enjoyed Zombie Loan actually, and I usually don't take to shoujo stuff either. I did hate that the dude with the short hair was a tool. Story's rather wrapped up in itself too; even as it ended, there was all sorts of stuff left unexplained... Startin' to wonder what it was I liked about the show. Quote
DarkeSword Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 YES. This is one my all time favorite comedies (both the anime and the manga). Oh well, I'm still counting down the days till Macross Frontier and season 2 of Code Geass (though I am enjoying some of the current season's shows). SR 3rd Season is confirmed. Quote
tgfoo Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Nice, anyone know how much it's going to cover? Hopefully all or at least most of the 3rd semester. I've been trying to find info on this, but all I can find is that they are releasing dvds with manga volumes 21 and 22. So is this just going to be a 2-4 episode OVA? Perhaps it'll be like between seasons 1 and 2 with an OVA and then the 3rd season in the fall. Well, the more the merrier I say. Quote
Brushfire Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 This will probably get me lynched by the otaku out there but Macross is the absolute worse I have ever seen. Forget Darker than Black, forget Wangan Midnight, forget Devil May Cry, Macross is the worst out there. Macross: A tale of stupidity in 1 Act. (To be read as loud as possible) HUMANITY: OH HEY WE ARE THE EARTHLING, WE CAN HAS TEH CULTURE TALL ALIEN PRICKS:WE ARE THE ALIEN PRICKS WHO DON'T LIKE TEH CULTURES!! MINMEI: I'M ANNOYING!! HUMANITY:HELP US MINMEI UR OUR ONLY HOPE MINMEI: BLAH BLAH LOVING AND SHARING ARE GOOD 4 YOU!! ALIEN PRICKS: EXPLODE!!! FINUS u__u Quote
FR Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Thank you for making my day Brushfire thank you very much...I'm probably gonna quote you in my sig BTW. Quote
I-n-j-i-n Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 I can't agree with Macross even on a jest. It had a pretty archetypal story, but it's still one of the best done ones of its type even way back in the early 80's. Also, some of its animation still holds well even by today's standards. That and the entire world it's based on (I agree Minmay is a slut/idiot/dolt along with that manwhore Kaifun). Actually, the show seemed to have a lot of characters to hate but I almost think that was the whole point. Which is funny since the biggest chauvinist in anime, Roy, was actually one of the most likable. That and just about every spinoff not named Macross II and Macross 7 were amazing. And BTW, Slayers will be getting a sequel apparently. I sort of can't believe it's happening, but I'm so glad the franchise is moving forward again. Quote
OverCoat Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 This will probably get me lynched by the otaku out there but Macross is the absolute worse I have ever seen holy shit anyway, IMO macross was amazing, also can anyone hook me up with a mp3 of "My Boyfriend is a Pilot?" Damn that song is catchy, and I can't find a recording anywhere. Quote
Brushfire Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Now that I think of it that Macross movie where the dude had the spaceship that turned into a Bose 19.6 Surround Sound speaker array and made all of the alien chicks his groupies with the song "I'm Gonna Rock Your Body(Till the Break of Dawn)" was throughly awesome, BUT THAT IS THE ONLY GOOD PART!! Quote
I-n-j-i-n Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Ooh... wow.. I just watched the 1997 movie of Dog of Flanders and it just kept striking daggers into my chest. I don't think I've seen a tragedy that just keeps going at it like it does. Such a beautiful movie. Definitely not recommended if you're feeling down though. It'll probably break you down. Quote
Avatar of Justice Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Only five more weeks until Code Geass R2. Hopefully, it will end with Lelouch reigning on his dark throne as humanity despairs. Quote
chocobo150 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHfSF2aITPs I remembered how this made me really sad. =( Quote
I-n-j-i-n Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 That was a nice scene in Air, though it rarely seemed to make much sense. They rushed through the plot too quick, but that happened in Kanon and in Clannad now too. Very well made shows, but they rush everything. Oh, and SPARTA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pQxxvY7X4U Quote
Gafgarion Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 Ah, the Air series. Even an emotionless guy like me was brought to tears by this. A very powerful anime, Air is. Quote
tgfoo Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Parts of Air did seem rather rushed and confusing, I agree. Still, that scene at the end did make me tear up a little. And the True Tears/300 mash up Quote
mr.wholesome Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I watched FLCL recently as somebody mentioned it in this thread as "bat shit crazy".so true! On a related note: Do they sell the DVDs or Blu-rays of FLCL? Never seen them in Best Buy and or any other store. Quote
Brushfire Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 FLCL was born out of boredom by the good folks at Gainax, and as such is the best thing to ever come from twiddling your thumbs. If you liked FLCL, I would recommend Abenobashi as well, or for those who are activly cutting themselves: Evangelion Quote
mr.wholesome Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 nice one im gonna give Abenobashi a try now(prays it has atleast a couple spinning and shaking scenes) Quote
Dervish Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Abenobashi was pretty good ... until the last 10 minutes of the show just ruined it. Quote
