They pick a remix they enjoy from the site for any video game and make a picture that would be associated with the remix. FAQ What is the Fan Art Competition? The Fan Art Competition is a monthly event where artists create some form of art based on a certain theme. What is the theme? The theme is decided by the winner of the previous months competition (most of the time) and must be video game related. Who can submit art? Anyone. What are my restrictions? You are allowed to submit one entry, but other than that there are no restrictions. There are no size, quality, image size restrictions. Who decides the winner? The OCR community. Anyone who wants to vote, can vote. How does voting work? You vote for your three favorite entries, from first to third. These entries are given points based on the order in which you voted for them in. For example, 1st. Rambo 2nd. bonzai 3rd. Nyuura In this case, Rambo would get 3 points, bonzai would get 2, and Nyuura would get 1 (although Nyuura gets three most of the time). When and how do we see the results? After the voting period is over, I'll announce the winner and show the tallied scores for all entries. If I enter the contest can I vote? Yes, and voting for yourself is allowed if you really want to. Rules and Regulations! 1) Any art submitted must be based off of the months theme. 2) No nudity. 3) Your entry must be created within the month. It cannot have been something you've created in the past or partially finished prior to the announcement of the theme. 4) All entries must be 100% your work. This may end up being my first fan art competition and excellent practice for trying to help with the FF9 and MMX projects via artwork. You can count me in. Oh question! Hyperion5182 Posted January 9, 2010 Share Posted January 9, 2010 With projects open to use i'm leaning very hard right now in the direction of The Masamune from Crono symphonic. Locke's Theme for Brass Quintet is also one of my front runners but coming up with one for that is a little harder. Ruben Kee's Ascension to Cosmo Canyon is the first one that popped into my mind when i saw the fanart contest rules. But getting that right will be difficult on so many levels. Including a personal one as he was one of this sight's rising stars and a man i admired in talent. I've got a funny but good idea for Blue Balls. (MegaMan 3) Vision of Celes i'm listening to as i type... I'm very tempted to go old school with this one. I dont know if i have the pose to do it though. I'll find out soon. Son of Chaos is another intresting one i'm considering i like the idea of using Rufus there. Golden Ivories of Gaia. One of the eclectic mixes but an absolutely incredible piece of piano work i can imagine the picture now. Tifa on the ivories the entire FF7 cast scattered around the bar...I dont know if i could do that in 2 weeks let alone 2 months but DAMN i'd love to see someone do it. friendlyHunter Posted January 10, 2010 Share Posted January 10, 2010 I was wondering who "Kyle" was, but then I noticed that 95% of the text in the thread belongs to the same person I have no ideas for what to do yet - time to bust out the Russian ReMix Roulette! ... or, just go through all my favourite games' mixes - I'm assuming the picture needs to have something to do with the game the song is from, right? If you cant figure out an awesome pic from that much you got problems bud. Hell i gave a few ideas on the thread.
