  1. It's unfortunately an either/or thing, and I personally prefer the auto-embedding. In fact, I want to enable SoundCloud embedding as well - I think folks will get a lot of use out of it. Ideally this would be a user preference, and users could choose to disable auto-embedding based on their personal preferences. Hopefully such functionality will eventually be available to us, but until then, my inclination is to leave auto-embedding enabled. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be an option. There's still a limit - we've bumped it up to 300. It also seems that IPB just does private messages a bit differently, and that the conversion script may have had to make some guess/compromises based on differences between how vBulletin did things and how IPB does things. Working on this as it is rather critical/core functionality. Shouldn't take too long! That's been fixed as of today, though certain areas within vBulletin are still accessible. We won't be removing it completely until we see which areas are still getting hit by users/search engines/etc. and decide where best to redirect that traffic. Thanks to all for chiming in with feedback & issues - please continue to do so! And yes, I know change is rough for some of you. Takes me awhile to adapt as well. 2015 is going to bring still more change to the site, so it's not over. Hopefully, by the time the year is out, we'll be fully modernized & stable and you can then safely get used to things with the expectation of longer-term consistency. Until then, it's going to be a relatively bumpy ride, and your patience & tolerance for change is appreciated. We'll do everything we can to make sure issues are addressed, and (staff can vouch for me), this migration was something that chewed up a lot of my personal time and that I prepared for extensively.

  2. Now that we've switched over to Invision for our forum software, we're going to start making more use of the tools it provides. One thing that I've always wanted to have for competitions was a calendar on the site where we can list relevant competition dates. Invision has a pretty great calendar application, so I've set one up. http://ocremix.org/community/calendar/2-competitions/ If you're a competition runner, you can now add your event dates (such as start and stop date/times for mixing and voting stages, due dates, etc.) to the calendar. Right now I have it set up so that any event submitted to the competitions calendar requires a moderator approval. I'll be checking my moderator control panel regularly for stuff to approve, but if you don't see your event pop up after about a day, contact me and I'll see what I can do. We might eventually put together a user group of the regular competition runners that can bypass moderation, but since this is new I want to keep an eye on things so that it doesn't get crazy. If you have any questions, let me know.

  5. Welcome to our brand new, upgraded forums! After many years, we've made the switch from vBulletin to Invision Power Board. This is a huge deal, as it's going to allow us to finally move forward and do a lot of things we've been planning to do with the site. As with any big changes, there will be some growing pains. You're going to have to get used to how the new forums work and there are probably going to be some things that we might have missed, or functionality that's different and weird. We're all in the same boat here and we're going to try to figure it all out together. Please use this thread for reporting any issues you come across with the new forum software. If there are things you were able to do that you can't do now, those issue reports are of particular use to us right now. While we certainly welcome them, any opinions about aesthetics are probably not going to be high priority for us right now. We want to focus on functionality. One thing you should all do is head over to your Settings page and make sure everything is set to your liking. There are a lot of default settings with this new software that you might want to change, such as notifications and email settings. Forum avatars were also not carried over from the old boards. You're now able upload your own user photo which functions as your avatar across the site. These user photos are subject to the same general guidelines that you have to follow with your sigs, which means nothing inappropriate, i.e. porn, violent, gross, etc. Please also note that any thread subscriptions you had in vBulletin have not been carried over to Invision. If you were relying on thread subscriptions to keep track of certain things like WIP threads, you need to resubscribe. Thanks to everyone for being patient with us while we adapt to the new forums, and a special thanks to our Patreon backers for making this possible. We'll be upgrading again to IPB 4.x sometime this year as well, which means even more new features. Have fun guys! __ Issues we know about that will remain unresolved for the time being: Reverse-Chronological Post Order (newest post first) is not supported out of the box with Invision. Discussions on Invision's site indicate no options available on the per-user level that enables this. We'll keep an eye out for plugins in the future that provide this functionality, but I recommend getting used to first-post-first.

  6. The link was added in the thread for the last time at PRC271, since it was broken. The link was: http://compo.thasauce.net/sigs/compo/PRC ThaSauce cannot find the compo PRC. Changing it to http://compo.thasauce.net/sigs/compos/PRC also doesn't work

  7. vBulletin had multiquote. No. OCR v6 is a site-wide redesign. The forum software change facilitates that and puts us in a place where we can move towards eventually getting v6 out.

  10. Oops, sorry 'bout that... Well, since we're on the topic of Suikoden 2: Hakstock, can you add JoyDreamer (vocals), Lauren the Flute (flute, whistle), Trev (violin) and XPRTNovice (acoustic guitar) as collabs to my track?

  11. This is a cool take on a theme that already seemed like a happy break from the hell you go through in the previous zone, and taking it one step further. Nice to hear the little cameos from green hill zone show up and all together, this sounds awesome. Good work, Rexy.
