  1. Potentially may take part. It all depends on my work load. Will let y'all know sooner rather than later.

  3. Came here to say this. New hardware is on the horizon -- unless you absolutely need a new card now, you're better off waiting a bit and seeing how the market gets shaken up.

  4. You were perfectly clear enough. In my case, I had an overly-broad definition of RPG. Just because something has a few RPG elements doesn't mean it is an RPG and I did not really realize that before. Thanks for your patience. Here's my new list. I'm going Hero now. [“Chrono Trigger” - “Ayla” and “Ayla's Theme” - “Hero”] [“Chrono Trigger” - “Robo” and “Robo's Theme” - “Hero”] [“Chrono Trigger” - “Lucca” and “Lucca's Theme” - “Hero”]

  6. It will probably get covered... As it's one of the big songs near the end, I'm hoping it'll either show up as source usage in one of the other songs, or maybe someone with considerable talent will claim it. We'll see what happens! As a reminder, some people are working on WIPs. These people are awesome. Everyone else (who has access to the subforum) PLEASE share your feedback! It's both valuable in helping the remixers work on their song, and keeping their morale up.

  7. Honestly it's really hard to say. The part in the white hidden text of my last post was a big one. Knowing people who talk like the characters, and talk like Chloe, made them seem a little more genuine to me. It's definitely the characters that were special, and the story and relationships between each character. When it ended it was kinda bittersweet, will have to play it again someday.

  9. In theory, we're supposed to judge every ReMix in a vacuum and completely ignore any knowledge about the artist, what he/she is capable of, etc. That's a great goal, and we strive towards it, but it is sometimes difficult. Case in point: this submission. We know Brandon is capable of great things, but something is very wrong here... even if this had been submitted under a pseudonym, with zero biases involved, I can safely say that the criticisms would have been the same. The production here is muddy, details get lost, and while the arrangement is *nice*, it's not inventive enough (nor would ANY arrangement potentially be) to turn a blind eye to the whole thing teetering on the brink of incoherence. I dig the idea of an orchestral rock arrangement of this theme, but somewhere on the road to that dream, things got compressed/mastered to hell, with none of the individual parts playing nice with one another. It's a hard genre to mix because of the twin terrors of getting the rock/metal mastering down and THEN getting the orchestral bits down and THEN making sure they complement one another, but it NEEDS to be done well. I've heard Brandon do it well, too. I wouldn't approve this mix if it were from an unfamiliar artist, and thus I won't approve it from Brandon, either. NO

  10. Showroom Dummies is a Kraftwerk song, Kraftwerk is my favorite electronic music group of all time, and I'm a huge geek about them. They have been a huge influence in my music and srd's style was pretty much Kraftwerk derived at the start. The founders and original members of Kraftwerk were Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider.

  11. I'm surprised to see that "Legendary Beat" doesn't appear on the first page. Any hope to have a mix of this in the album? It's a major boss theme in the ff serie IMO. And it would be regrettable if this track wasn't in the tracklist.

  12. Quick check to understand the source usage: Mass Effect 1 Theme - :01-:33, 1:45.5-1:55.75 = 42.25 seconds Mass Effect 3 "Leaving Earth" - :17-:27, :28.75-:30.75, :33.5-:37 = 15.5 seconds Mass Effect 3 "An End, Once and for All" (1:15, 1:38 with strings) - 1:13-1:44.5 = 33.5 seconds Checks out. Brilliant, seamless weaving of these themes. The ME1 main theme is easy to overlook without it being expressly pointed out, so I appreciated that. Nice job, Paul, and welcome aboard! YES

  13. I really like the brass additions to this and think it adds a good deal of character. The different section are solid, and there is a lot to like. The acoustic sections and the buildups after them were great. Solo was pretty good too. The guitar performance was fine but I do agree it felt sloppy in parts. I do think the drums sound smashed and weak though, and plodding. PM me, i'll give you One Weird Production Trick that will make other producers HATE you. A local mom found it, and it will fix up this song easy. No, please resubmit
