Sucks it has to be this way, but the compo scene was definitely in a downturn since probably as far back as 2014, though there were some definite upticks here and there. I'll defer to your decision with MnP, TVG. As for PRC, it has been a wild ride and some seriously good times and kick-ass remixes. Thanks for being such an awesome host @Bundeslang (EDIT 2) I'd like to add that you were very patient with the more difficult participants (myself included, at times). You've shown nothing but class and aimed to keep the experience a positive one, despite the BS that came your way from time to time lol. You are a true gentleman and scholar Bundeslang. Pardon the 2nd edit, I am having a hard time gathering my thoughts and overcoming my anxiety all at once lol. I was planning on just coasting along and doing nothing for the rest of the year, but that will have to change, considering the situation... I'd be remiss not to add an entry. Hopefully Bundeslang will be joining in for the fun too!

Thanks everyone for their input in this topic. It's very much appreciated, also good to see some of the participants in early PRC rounds still being around here and checking it out. I'm pretty sure I made the right decision to make this a final last round of the competition. And of course I will enter myself as well, but (as always) don't expect a remix which will pass the OC Remix judges without a NO vote. Good to see that the first song is already there.

I was sick of making rounds for one entry or non. I kept asking "Why am i doing this?" when nobody was entering. The MnP Round 141 had almost like a full 2-3 months of extensions, and nobody was still submitting. I felt the day's of at least 3 entries were gone. People are probably not as into the PRC and MnP scene as they used to be, probably because they grew up, got a job, or had other musical projects they need to commit to. They probably didn't have the time or the drive to do this anymore. Thanks for the support man, anyways! A part of me didn't want to do it, but in the end i just...gave up. It was a lot of fun though, thanks all for sticking with me! Your compliments are commended, and i appreciated the support you've given to me, as well as the opportunity. Thanks for everything! Here's to the future!

The feeling is mutual. Yeah, not really feeling it either. If it's time for PRC and MNP to pass on into the ether, then it's time. what? Damn.. I think that one of the reasons for prc ending really has to do with the weird/complicated songs people choose. Waaaay back a lot of the source songs were a lot more simple, catchy and just easier for newcomers to try out mixing for the first time. Every month i pop in to see what the source is, and it is always just something i dont like, or something so new that no beginner is going to show up and think they can do something with it. I dunno, i really liked when ORC was around, mixing each others original music was a lot more fun to me. I'm not sure how to really explain it better right now. this is just my opinion Since it really is the last one, and a free round at that, i'll try to make something.

I feel like that the notion of PRC ending, has brought upon a massive reunion of both new and old participants which makes me both sad and happy. Let's hope the final round goes off with a bang.

damnnnnn the last round?! this compo taught me so much about music making. i never even ended up being a posted remixer but this compo was a great one. kudos to you for keeping it going so long. Its been a long time, but i finally have ableton again and ill try to get a real gem in for this

Hi @Bundeslang. First, I want to sincerely thank you for keeping PRC going for as long as you did. PRC was a huge part of my development as an artist in the early days of OCR along other older competitions like IMC and I made a lot of collabs and friends in these competitions. I am no longer making music, nor I am around online much but when I saw the email about this PRC being the last I had to jump in to salute and thank you and the oher artists. I would say the absolute best part of being part of the community by far were PRC and other compos. The constraints of the competitions I felt really helped me break out of some walls, and some of the remixes I made here both as sir_nuts and as showroom dummy made the jump to the front page. Again thank you and all of those who participated over the years. Hope you are doing great and wish you nothing but the absolute best in the future.

Sad to see it end, but surprised it was around for so long. I checked, I even got 3 mixposts out of my contributions to PRC! If I don't forget I'll try to whip up an entry for the last round and give it a proper goodbye

Sad to see PRC go, but fully understandable. PRC has had a great run! PRC was a big thing for me when it comes to OCR and my music making in general. Many of my OCR posts are PRC entries, and there are still more coming.

Updated the first post. The main reason to quit is that I don't want this contest to end up with many rounds without entries. As written in the first post, PRC469 was the first real round when that happened. With my quick songs for both PRC469 and PRC471 these rounds still didn't end without a song. And of course I don't let this one end without a song as well. Nowadays people don't find their way to the forums and I don't feel anything to actively promote this on Social Media or somewhere else. PRC should stay PRC, after 20 years it is also a good moment to end it. After this I will still keep an eye on these forums. Let's make this round a good last one.

Since it's getting harder to get any songs in and I also lack time myself to be very active in it I decided to put it to an end. I don't feel anything for changing the setup of the contest or promoting it more. I'm happy that I kept it running this long. Many rounds got a good amount of songs and a voting stage but the last years it was hard to get any contributions. Still, PRC469 was the first round without an entry. I don't want this going with much rounds without entries, after 20 years it is good to end this contest. It's been a long time since I took over PRC from Rexy (after PRC130 back in October 2008, 15 years ago). The contest itself started back in late 2003. I want to thank everyone for this long, long time. If someone really not wants to end PRC and wants to take over the organisation of PRC he/she is free to start season 21 next year. Send me a PM if you want this to happen. Of course, PRC will not before there's a Final Round. It's a Free Round. Feel free to remix whatever you like, also making an original mix is allowed. You can also submit multiple songs. The remixing stage is the longest ever in the PRC history, over two months of time to make a good remix. Of course you can also upload it somewhere else and put a download link in this thread. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted in this thread. If i had like 4 participants then sure, this wouldn't be needed. But everyday i look at this and think to myself. "Why am i doing this if nobody is gonna show up?". I tried to hold out, but in the end, i said sod it, and made the decision to pull the plug. By the way the poll isn't saying should MnP be gone for good. It's saying, if an On Demand model is better than the current model. Basically if you want to remix a VG Source, you message me, and i get the round up for you. That's basically it. So you'll still have the opportunity to make a MnP round, it just won't be regularly. Thanks for the support man, you've been amazing, i really appreciate it. Here's to the future.
