  1. I love it enough that I would give a klondike bar to a person who would remix it.
  2. Call Jack Thompson: Violent videogames cause one Moose to not be violent.
  3. Trust me, the job of QA is to sign off on a product to say it's safe. I can assure you, CCP's QA department signed off on the patch. They apparently failed to test it.
  4. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! Thank you. Also, none of these YES were cut, copied and or pasted.
  5. The intro is interesting, but I feel the harp is covering up a melody that should be more present. At around the midway point, the melody is being "uncovered" and the ever present harps now fade in the background, giving another feel to this remix. There are some good ideas in this, but it feels condensed. It's like instead of having one idea for a song, two incomplete ideas were taken and mixed together. I can't say I like it very much, but its still an interesting musical composition.
  6. It's hard to define this remix. I am not familiar with the source material, and I can't say I'm a fan of the remix. But that's my tastes. It can, at some point, get a little grating. However, I can see what was done, and well, I can see a lot of work went in that remix. Everything fits together, and it flows well, but I kinda prefer the last minute or so, where it is less hard on the eardrums. And as it was said, the end is weak. In the last minute, the song picks up and goes in a different direction and then simply dies out. It's probably very interesting from a technical point of view, but my untrained ear can't get over the painful first 2-3 minutes. (And I mean painful because in a bout of synaesthesia, sounds are associated with sensations, and the sharp noises in the first 2-3 minutes are just not doing me any good.)
  7. The method at Nintendo is that they would rather scrap a project than release an unsatisfying one. I believe it has happened in the past. In fact, from Wikipedia: Miyamoto and fellow developers refer to this scrapping as "Chabudai Gaeshi" (ちゃぶ台返し, "upending the tea table"), a reference to manga and anime Star of the Giants.[14] It is also referred to as "Miyahon Check" (Miyahon is an alternative kanji reading of Miyamoto) or "Miyamoto Test".[15] "Twinkle Popo" was a completed product with a pre-order of 26,000 units. It was supposed to be released under the game's developer, HAL Laboratory. Miyamoto intervened arguing that, with a tiny bit of tweaking, it would become a great game. After cancelling the pre-order, the game was eventually released under Nintendo with the title Kirby's Dream Land, selling 5 million units globally. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was supposed to be released immediately after the release of the Nintendo 64 (Japanese release date, 6 June 1996). Instead, Miyamoto, who was the producer, repeatedly ordered the game to be redone, resulting in numerous announcements of delays by Nintendo until the game's eventual release on 21 November 1998. Ocarina of Time sold over 7.6 million units and has the highest average review score of any game ever made. Eiji Aonuma was initially the producer of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. However, between 2005 to 2006, Miyamoto replaced him. He stated that the switch was the result of a year-long development being "Chabudai Gaeshi"ed. [16] In the same interview, Miyamoto said that he had to clean up the mess of his Chabudai Gaeshi, so he joined in as a producer and also to assist in the development of the game. Twilight Princess, eventually released for both the GameCube and Wii consoles, has received tremendous critical acclaim and commercial success in the Western markets.
  8. I did not know the source material. A couple of weeks ago, this song came on my ipod randomly. My first reaction was: "Uh, is this from the "The Beach" soundtrack?". It sounds so professional, it's a beautiful song. The spoken lyrics work perfectly with the feeling conveyed by the music. Everything sounds so... unique. I could totally picture myself walking around the city at 4 AM with that song filling my head. That's how good the song it, I cannot help my mind from wandering when that song is playing. And I also have a hard time explaining why I love it so much. The song sounds like that clarity you get after a bout of insomnia. Which brings me back to the The Beach soundtrack. This song feels like it should be on that soundtrack. It shares the same surreal feeling there is in the whole CD. This song is great, I love it, and I would love to see more songs of this type on ocremix.
  9. There is a good forum that explains lots of stuff about remixing. You can even ask questions about whatever tools you use and some remixers go there to share their secrets. http://www.ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12
  10. Thank you, you don't know how happy this makes me.
  11. While that may be a bit presumptuous of me to do this, I have a request. Ever since I was a kid, the one Christmas song that had some sort of family tradition attached to it is Minuit Chrétien (Known to English speakers as O Holy Night). To hear all of my uncles stand up together and sing it in a deep resounding harmony (which is impressive since I never heard my father sing other than for that song, even if he can sing rather well) is one of the good memories I have. So please, remix it. And if you can get someone to sing the French lyrics, I would be forever in your debt. Lyrics are found here btw: http://fr.wikisource.org/wiki/Minuit_chr%C3%A9tiens
  12. So, Everquest, EVE online and WoW provide a world that is constantly online. Why can't smash offer that, I mean, online is online and other people do it. Of course they charge for their online services and they use some pretty present advertising. So yeah, lets complain about stuff that was offered to paying customers not being offered to non-paying ones. And well, they want to offer a more family friendly approach. Think about your last randomly set up Halo 3 game with some strangers and try to see if it was family friendly...
  13. I liked the comment, I think they are trying to say something to item whiners: Real men use items.
  14. Linebeck as an assist trophy ! And well... maybe Linebeck as a joke character with an awesome kickass FS... Or you know, whatever.
  15. Seriously, don't you see what's wrong? While you may not agree with his opinion, his opinions should be said freely no matter who advertises on the website...
  16. Good remix. Can't say it sounds like anything I heard before.
  17. Play as Sonic: Design a bad level with camera issues, then pick the worse soundtrack possible, and focus on Yoshi, with only guns as weapons.
  18. I write, it doesnt matter what, whenever I have a block I just write.
  19. I never realised how the internet changed me. I have never got the chance (and judging by this thread honor) of knowing Reuben, and yet I feel saddened by this tragedy. And I believe the best way to honor him would be to find a way to keep his music online, host it somewhere as long as it is possible, for free. So that we can share with the world Reuben's gift forever.
  20. I've been up to date with the queue for a couple of years now... Y'all suck
