  1. I have my own little project in the works so I don't have to keep switching rooms. My plan is to remodel my basement, build walls, put my bedroom down there, and right next to it my studio. It's not going to be cheap, but I think I can cut some of the costs by custom fabricating the desk I want. I'm also planning to have the studio share some space with my entertainment stuff (tv, home theater, game systems, etc...). With a bit of luck, by next summer, I'll have a nice new place to call my own, away from all distractions. Soon as it's up, I'll drop some photos.
  2. I think we all need those times. As for me, I'm staying on site, alone. Should anyone need a place to hang to take a breather away from the festival, feel free to ask.
  3. C'mon Anso, you just achieved fame. But it's okay, we'll have fun gaming anyways!
  4. A link to the nearest zip file program? Winrar for that matter?
  5. AnotherSoundscape is quite correct. As for you so-called "fanboys" out there, cut out the crap. I've been waiting since the very beginning of this project, since zircon first spoke about it publicly. That was a year and a half ago. I think I've been very patient, yes, I was disappointed when it didn't come out on Friday, so what? If he says it needs to be done completely correctly, then let him work his magic and let us wait. Yes, I'm a fan. I proudly admit that. Just remember, all good things take time.
  6. That is a pretty cool device there. Reminds me of Haken Audio's Continuum in that it's touch sensitive. Though, this Reactagon takes it to the next level with some of the features it has. I'm rather impressed.
  7. Well, fall is just about upon us. As summer ends, we'll be getting into the fall movie season (if there is such a thing), and here in September, we start off with two movies that I think some will love and some will hate. Either way, it's up to you what you think. First, Resident Evil: Extinction. Yes, I just saw the first trailer tonight for it on Cartoon Network. I hope that it finally wraps up the trilogy, that would be very cool. I do like the movies, I thought the first one was pretty good, and the second one was, well, so-so. However, I still think it would've been a lot better if they'd stuck closer to the game series. All-in-all, I can't knock it til I see it. It comes out September 21. Secondly, Dragon Wars. I'm sure we all remember the trailer during the summer, I forget which movies it followed. However, we only got a slight peek at it, heck, we didn't even get a title until now. Now, there's a full trailer for it. It looks interesting, but I just have this feeling its going to be Reign of Fire in America rather than London, England. Most likely, New York City. Anyway, I barely caught the release date, but it looks like September 14 is it. That's all from me for now, enjoy, and have at it!
  8. After several months of a down server, and multiple issues...CHUGWORTH ACADEMY HAS RETURNED! Now don't be flaming me...I'm just letting everyone know because there's just some people that probably don't know yet. Anyway, Chugworth is a very enjoyable comic, and I just love to share the experience with everyone. So, check it, here: Chugworth.com!
  9. So I've downloaded Ruby on Rails, installed and everything is running...well...SMOOTHLY. Couldn't believe it. Anyways, I'm working with SciTE. Interesting program. It takes text editing to the next level. So I suppose now I need the books to make this rawk hard. Anyway, if anyone's got some experience with it and could offer some more insight, I would be ever so grateful! Thanks.
  10. You know, I would've given you some song and dance a week ago about how I didn't want to do it this way, however, after some review...I'm seeing a bit of the light. So...I'm going to check it out, and read up on it first. Thanks for the insight.
  11. I'm looking to come, but I won't be there until either late January 3rd, or early January 4th. This is assuming I can take off of work on Friday. If not, I'll be leaving directly from work, which means I'll probably not get there until sometime after 8pm because of traffic. Way I see it right now, I'm getting my own room, and by myself. So...yeah. Still, I'll be there.
  12. Sounds like some people have WAY too much time on their hands.
  13. by the way, for reference, I'm on skype as dyne2057
  14. Wow....... ROCK OPERA. DAMN RIGHT BABY! C'mon, let's get it on!
  15. Very well done OC. That's goin' on the iPod.
  16. Hmm, so how'd you do it? It's surprisingly good, very accurate, and just as catchy. Spill it Flik, how'd you make teh phat beats?
  17. So, I've been doing a bit of contemplation on the aspect of web development and design, and came to the conclusion that before I go back to school for a degree in it (because I eventually plan to start a home-based business with it), I was wondering what reference books anyone with some degree of web design experience uses on OCR. I've been looking on Borders and Barnes and Noble (dot coms, respectively), and I haven't really found much. I'm going to check out Amazon soon, and maybe a few other sites, but it'd be nice to know exactly what kinds of books would be good for a novice such as myself. Please also understand I've taught myself a few things, but I want the full gammut. So please, help a guy out!
  18. I want to sit here now and give you a full blown dissertation on what I think of the updating of the standards, read; wordsmithing. Anyway, I'm not going to do that. Instead, I just want to say that the standards a lot easier to read in their newer form, and that while some might disagree with the way some of them have been worded, it just seems to me it's easier to control content through the submission guidelines.
  19. Since I haven't played it, WHY would you need to play Portable Ops?
  20. Actually, he is in a technical sense. VGF would be about bringing more people to OCR, and as a bonus, the community in general. So it's really a 2-for-1 sale really.
  21. Well Larry, in honesty, I'd listen to your podcast every time you upload the latest episode. Though I myself still plan on doing the one based over at ThaSauce. Despite that, I think if you're going to do an all-OCR, all-the-time Podcast, I would suggest starting at half an hour and going from there. It all really depends on how much content you want to put into the podcast itself. Hit me up with the PM-shizzle and talk to me, I'd like to coordinate with you. (also because you didn't answer my last PM anyways, heh heh)
  22. That's about what I thought. I wish PETA would stop defiling all that's good in the world, and realize that as long as there are human beings in the world, animals will be dinner. I mean, what? Do they honestly think that cavemen ate VEGETABLES for dinner?? WTF kind of thinking is THAT?
  23. I finally got what I needed so that I can go ahead and buy a laptop, however, because of the limit, I can't go above $1000 (first Credit card and all). Anyway, I'm down to this: ZT Element S1002i-74 Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 It's got what I want, however I've never seen the manufacturer before, some I'm a bit wary. It's this, or best buy, and well...we all know that'll only end in disaster.
