  1. YAY! It's only two days away again, and hopefully I'll again be able to participate. Gotta keep that streak going.
  2. Couldn't have said it better myself. I mean, Taucer and I met at MAGfest after attempting to collab a few times, and he was an apple-cheeked innocently-afro'd gymnast, and for some reason I just immediately trusted him enough to stay in a room with him and 4 other strangers for two nights. I fell asleep in a room with a STRANGE TRUCK DRIVER just inches from me (Darangen ) and I felt no mistrust or discomfort. It's honestly just beyond strange how, when we all meet in person, it isn't as if we've come to know each other just over forum threads. It feels like we've been friends all along. Jamspace would be an utter mess if none of us trusted each other with valuable music equipment. Damn, now I'm craving MAGfest more than ever before so I can again experience that coolness.
  3. That's it, I don't even want your babies any more, BGC. I'm filing for our divorce tomorrow. You can keep the collectible star wars mugs, I'll take the novelty NFL throw pillows. Honestly, I agree with Epitaph in a sense. Obviously, one has to gauge things form a certain perspective and, as will all things internet-related, initially there is doubt until you actually truly associate with some of these people in real life. But then again, after meeting someone like Taucer or Avaris and hanging out, I wouldn't think twice about having them over. And in a way, if you open your house to friends and allow them to bring guests, the chances of any of those plus-ones being sketchy is about as high as anyone you meet over OCR being sketchy (gross generalization there, don't take it to heart too much). If someone like Prophet of Mephisto offers you a drink and it has fuzzy stuff in it, don't drink it though. He's just trying to touch your bathing-suit are.
  4. Maybe I'm just the delusional fool who overly trusts.
  5. So reading in the recent Philly Meetup thread, Meteo Xavier had this to say: "I just want to comment in a genuine tone that I've never seen a web community this large that is so open to inviting such a mass of total strangers worldwide and be this serious on attending. It blows my mind. I won't even let my mom into my apartment and you'd take in any lout from the internet who could conceivably get there for a big party. Even me if I knew how to drive cross-country. Its frightening and awesome at the same time. Wow. :)" Last night, at a BBQ at Xerol's, I was talking with bigadam about how my housemates were a little uncomfortable having people from OCR (strangers to them) stay in our house unaccompanied. They had no problem if I was there or if they were there to look after them, but not by themselves. I personally have no problem with that kind of trust within this community, pending I've met and hungout with them personally to have guaged their character and seen if any sketchiness is present. In a more general area, I'm comfortable inviting strangers who are active on OCR over to my place if I've never met them before, just like the FF4 listening party. Other people obviously don't have a problem with it, seeing all the meetups and housing arrangements for nearly all the conventions OCR is present at. Bigadam responded to me that my housemates "just don't understand that OCR people aren't just friends: it's become almost like a big family." He pointed at DrumUltimA and said "I would trust you with my son." So why do we trust each other so much? I guess with common passion comes common understanding, but I am curious to see what other people have to say on this. I have no doubt in my mind about how closely-knit many of us have become. Why do you think OCR is so open and trusting?
  6. Mmmmmmm....Avaris is schmexy.

Also, what is a "Co-Assistant Director"? Does that, like, mean you bring the Assistant Directors their coffee or something? What about a Co-Executive Administrative Assistant to Director-in-training...

  7. This was definitely a reason I got my iPhone in the first-place, but it took me a few months to gather my wits and actually endeavour to do this. First, you're going to have to jailbreak your iPhone if you want to do a direct download. Technically, you can just Safari-browse to an OCremix's webpage and play it streaming through the browser and not jailbreak the phone, but that's a waste of bandwidth if you do it more than once, plus cell phone signal isn't always great at (*insert job location here*). So, if you've decided to jailbreak the phone (which, if you're reading this far, have enough interest to possibly do it), go ahead and get that out of the way. There's plenty of web resources for how to do it, so go ahead and get to googling. If you end up having trouble, I'll try to find you some of the resources I used. Next, make sure you have Cydia installed. You're going to want to install the following: 1. Safari Download Plug-In 2. dTunes The download plugin allows any MP3 you try to access in Safari to be downloaded directly to an iPhone local directory. dTunes is a media player that plays MP3s directly from said download directory, and features editing and browsing so you can organize the musics you get. Hope this helps! Edit: To address Taucer's "just download" thing: the iPhone can stream stuff from the data connection, but doesn't let you download anything like that. You have to be connected to WiFi to buy and download anything on the iPhone's iTunes store, and furthermore any games over 10 mb need a WiFi connection to download. To get new stuff in the library, most people have to download it on their computers and sync with iTunes, which is a PAIN more often than not. Jailbroken iPhones have more capabilities for doing things on-the-fly than the vanillas do.
  8. Will do. I honestly am considering taking a day off of work sometime in September to just work on all my mixes from 8 AM until Midnight. It'll make remixing much more serious business. I'll have a WIP to you....soon....
  9. I'll bring my Saturn or PS2 remake to the housewarming party and make you play a little then, probably. Hope your injury is recovering quickly, bro!

  10. It's called the dream flute, and don't you dare ruin the child-like innocence of a great game character, Taucer! I 'ATE YOU! I 'ATE YOU ALL!!!

...you're kind of right about how it looks, though. Your imagination is just as dirty as mine, especially considering NiGHTs doesn't have a gender. Eww...

  11. Hey, thanks a lot, man. It's greatly appreciated, and I'm glad you enjoy the rock! Edit: I got my physical copies in the mail yesterday, and thankfully the only damage suffered was one of them having the little holdie-bits in the center of the disc break in one case. <3 to OA!
  12. Why, are you afraid we'll scare them away with our vast video game music knowledge and sheer maddening jamma-sauce skills? Well, you may be on to something there, then... I could care less, as I'm down with either seeing familiar faces and meeting a few new people from the OCR scene, or hanging out with all plus coworkers. If I were in your position, however, I'd probably throw two separate parties as well. We're eagerly awaiting a tentative date, good sir!
  13. I'm beginning to think Zircon doesn't sleep at all anymore. Congrats and great job, buddy.
  14. As I said, if I'm coming I'm definitely bringing my geetar, probably my acoustic as I really don't think it'd be proper to set up my full rock-rig at his brand new place I'm positive that jammage will happen.
  15. Happy birthday, dougie! May this year find you not behind bars due to pedophile-beardness.
  16. Aww, shucks. Thanks, Prophet! That actually means a whole lot coming from you, considering you were one of the first friends I made in the remixing scene. Just you wait til we get the zelda stuff fully underway
  17. So this is going to be "Taucer's new house uber-fattening old-school gaming party"... I approve.
  18. In that case, it'd be best to do an over-night trip, as long as Taucer's willing to accomodate. Either drive a Friday-after-work or Saturday-early-morning and come back the next day or whatever. I can't take off of work any more if I still want to go to MAGfest, so a weekend is the only option for me if possible at all. But if I can come, I'll bring my geetar! And some board games! And a housewarming gift (hint: it's a cactus).
  19. Get me a specific day/time and I'll think about it. How far is it from Baltimore to Raleigh drive-wise? Edit: Harmony, maybe we'll carpool if we can pull this off.
  20. Keep rubbing it in, Taucer, and I'll come down there with an entire coach bus full of drunk naked men... Congrats on the new place btw.
  21. DUDE! http://store.steampowered.com/app/21660/ Steam deal this weekend is Street Fighter IV....50% OFF! $19.99 for the weekend. If you don't own it on another system or already own it for PC, BUY IT. LIKE, NOW!
  22. Duuuuuude, why THAT Saturday?!? I'd absolutely be coming...if it weren't Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, which I have to spend with my family.
  23. Yeah, mine didn't arrive today. Crossing fingers for the weekend! They'll keep me company when I'm doing work-stuff!
