  1. It kind of annoys me that I have had this remix in my mp3 in a half-year now and haven't reviewed it. Well here goes. The creativity used to make this song have been pointed out enough I guess, but this track really deserved a guitar remix since serious, important, must-save-world-from-total-destruction tracks usually sounds very good with an electric guitar kicking ass in the front. The thought that the guitar was bad tuned in the beginning has never struck, and it doesn't do it now either. Although I don't know a squat about guitars and their tunage, I still enjoyed this piece to the fullest. It was very dynamic, drums, strings and guitar playing at the same time. Instruments often stood out too much, but it was still an awesome experience listening to it. Definitly a keeper.
  2. Been a while now since I've played the game, but the melody sounds exactly like something that would be in SoM. Very smooth and chill arrangement, it's a little sad with strings, piano and depressed howls far beyond the horizon. I don't think i have much to say that hasn't been told, I thought this piece would contain some material from the winter area in the game, but that would have made it too happy I guess. A very emotional piece, good job mp.
  3. Doh! I completely forgot about that. I suppose this thread is kinda doomed if the avatar structure/size change with the new forum... That's too bad; I should've thought of that before making this topic. Have they mentioned anything about it?
  4. not to derail the thread but huh? can you clarify on this one? He's like me I guess. Sure, vocal remixes are nice to hear and to see some new creativity among remixers, but personally I prefer remixes without vocals. In that way, you can enjoy more of the music and listen closer to it since there isn't a voice in front of it. I think that's what he meant.
  5. It's good to see that MM3 still deserves a new remix now and then, it's been a little quiet from that game a while now. I'm impressed that po! played all the instruments himself to make this remix and make it real smoooothy. Sounds like typhical jazz when I listen to it, but the violin gives it some more class. When I read the title I thought hat this arrangement would contain more bright instruments, like piano or bells, but this was jam session with some additions of synth samples. Maybe not something for those who wants some more action, but I found this very enjoyable. You can just bopp your head back and forth. Sweet.
  6. The beginning caught me directly, the synths and beats unleashed at almost the same time with awesome samples and arrangement, just great. It changed its course suddenly afterwards, i could recognize that pop-ish style from "Stomp the Summer Sky", same goes for the string sample used after that part. Things sort of melded into each other later, then it changed radically at 2:34 again. This time I loved it. The drums used was astonishing, I love those kinds that gives away that bright sound. And there was no changes now at least, Ziwtra kept this safari theme and succeeded well with it, in my opinion. This is indeed a remix, not only techno but also something more foreign. Sweet.
  7. I can't believe I somehow managed to miss this masterpiece among the other remixes. It's soft as a silk pillow filled with dune feathers and moogle fur. The piano is very reflecting, it doesn't play much keys, but what it plays is what counts. The whole arrangement is mellow, calm like a summer night and sweet like honey. The strings adds some more beauty to it, the flute adds spirit, and the violin adds sorrow. The synth itself sounds suspiciously like if it's taken from the game, but it fits so perfectly in this remix. It's very sad, no wonder this remix brought tears to some, I can almost feel some coming my way too. Beautiful remix, both of you.
  8. Somehow it gets annoying if you think about the fact that there are many remixes of this peculiar track, but I can't really argue there, I still almost think that the original is best. This, however, may make me change my mind. As usual, I'm a big fan of piano remixes, and since Reuben Kee has amazed me before, something similiat might happen again. The beginning is very beautiful, the very careful prelude is very characteristic. Reuben kept the tempoquite steady, he was going on a certain pace, but there was many moments where he speeded up the process, like at 1:30 when it suddenly started to pick up some steam and then cool off later on. It wasn't really much advanced play, it was calm, beautiful, and simple, not many tones and keys that wanted to fit in the same sequence at the same time. I think beautiful, calm and simple may be the words that I think of when I hear this, very nice work of Reuben. And of course, let's not forget pixietricks. I was happy that I actually could understand the words, since her other remix she collabed in was in japanese (I think). The lyrics switched between english and japanese quite often, I'll just presume and hopes it's same content in both of them. Pixie handles this job well, no problems in picking up tones and her voice just floats smooth and clean through the entire arrangement. Excellent performance, excellent indeed. This might just be an ANOTHER Chrono trigger remix, but just make an exception this time and listen to it, it's clearly worth it. Pixietricks has contributed to an another remix in the project too. Maybe you should check it out.
  9. This is what I love with Wingless's remixes, a very dreamy piano that plays as many keys as possible in an echoing hall. It makes me think of the water Shrine in the game since it almost sounds how waterdrops falls through the air and hits the water's surface. There are some beats that makes this sound more tough, but that's mostly during a small period if time. This remix suits perfectly to lie in bed and just try to relax. Fabulous work, Wing.
  10. It disturbed me a little that I haven't reviewed this remix, I downloaded it a year ago and my opinion haven't changed a bit. For having piano in it, it sure sounds alot. Beats, hard drums and rough synths fills the air between my speakers and ears, and at some points it just sounds chaotic. However, I somehow like the sudden switches between piano pop and synthic roughness, especially the change-over at 2:22, the melody turns onto a new course and then the beats and synth tags along. It's both beautiful and annoying at times, but mostly pretty good, very good if I might say. This is WIP-material that crossed the border to OCR land, it is where this piece belongs. Nice work, Noods!
  11. Really? It's calm in the beginning, so calm that you just wish it to begin already, but it's not completely still either. Shnabubula gains some extra keys for every sequence she plays, and when she has arrived in the middle of the track, it has actually picked up some more speed and extra notes. This is restaurant music, where you're supposed to just sit at your table and listen to the musician that sits in the corner of the room playing the piano. No story? Perhaps, but you can make one yourself. That's what games are aboot. Nice remix Shnabubula, you are a true pianist indeed.
  12. Opens up well with strings and harps, I love it. It's very mysterious to its nature, the harps and choirs might just make that more clear. The remix was very smooth, relaxing, and the instrument selection is simply great. I feel like I'm running through a deep forest with a smile on my face. I like it when it comes to 0:57, where it brightens up the mood of the piece, it really does make me smile. Beautifully done, Darke. I'll keep this one then. *takes remix and runs into the woods*
  13. Feels like I'm traveling through the history of music, there's hardly no music type that isn't in there. Maybe jazz or blues, but that would make it lose its hardcore. The serious strings never really let go, only around the middle it lose its gripe of it and instead lets the beats and synths of the arts of electronica take over the scene. And then at 3:00, dude, the acoustic guitar and electric bass is frigging sweet! This is something for everyone. At least some parts of it. Way to go Star!
  14. Bummer... dude. Oh, so they were in the "Site project" forum. Never mind then.
  15. I may be to far off right now, but is it gonna be a thread where you can post your opinion about the project? I got little disappointed when Chrono Symphonic didn't have one.
  16. Djpretzel summarized this remix very well, beautiful and almost sad at the same spot, and although this is at the final end, it has a very fitting ancient arrangement. The different tracks doesn't repell each other, instead they blend very well and makes a very smooth walk-over from one after another. All the instruments like bells, flutes, harps and strings is what making this mix special. It's very harmonic to listen to it, and the melody from the Millennial Fair suited this remix surprisingly good. It was nice that the remix picked up some more happiness along the way, it's one way to say that there's still hope in all of this. This is an pure OCR material, no questions about it. Nice for you to finally have your own OCR remix.
  17. Chaos Temple has got a complete make-over, and it works. This sounds almost identical with most of the pop-rock bands out there, some happy tunes that sprinkles out of my headphones along with some good drums and synths. One of the best remixes from Darangen. Good stuff.
  18. I must be very slow today, I just looked at this remix and thoight that djpretzel had submitted an another Chrono Symphonic remix, but then I realized that zircon wasn't on that project, so this must be something else. Then it hit me like a rain of frying pans. Your remix of the sewer theme had finally been finished!!!! I had followed much of the work with this piece, now I would at last hear the full version of it. The first part of it was similiar sounding like your Calamitous Judgement, nice strings and arpeggios, followed by some more bells and other stuff. the hip piano that then took the lead softed up the ground so that the synth and beats would land softly. There can't really be a zircon remix without techno. This whas now the moment of truth, how would the rest of the remix sound? When it came to 3:00, my jaw just fell onto my table and my eyes were wide open. I mean, IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME! I mean, the synths, the arrangement of the melody, the diffeent use of instruments along the ending melodies, bells, strings, I was simply filled with awe. 150% of 100%. Fenomenal remix, this is simply a must download.
  19. About time that Blizihizake made an another remix. His Set Sail was excellent, and I could hear some of the samples from it here too. the beginning of it is quite fitting. The End of Time is, to be exact, nothing unless of two rooms that floats in nothingness. Yeah, it's weird alright, and you felt it in the music. When the strings started playing, you thought it was getting serious, then it fell and started playing strings instead. Aaaand then it builds up again, continues with its stringplay, but this time it at least get a little further in process. I got a little sceptic when it suddenly changed over to frog's theme, it happen too abrupt, although it happened with soft instruments. But then it went good again, the reinforcements consisiting of church bells and some heavier orchestric instruments really made an impressed smile in my face. Beautiful stuff. Then it went even happier, and I love that part when that strange instrument I don't the name of jumps onto the scene right after the piano. Spiced this remix up with some new cultural flavours. Then Bliz smoothed everything out by letting the strings and the harp run on autopilot until it faded out. No major wrongs with the music, great stuff. My only problems may be the wide selections of themes used in this remix, and also how the remix didn't really fit with the feel it was supposed to have. This was the End of Time, but after you've listened a while to it, you suddenly think that it's about fields full of pretty flowers. Nothing wrong with happy remixes OR flowers, but I felt that most of the remix's joyful attitude didn't suit the situation in the story. Or maybe it did? I must check the script for that thing...... Anyhew, great follow-up of an remix Blake/Blizihizake.
  20. Hoo boy, this is some real hard electronica, I almost blew off my chair. My first impression of this remix was the immense bass of the beginning beats, but then came the.....I don't know what to call it, but it sounded rusty or cheesy. It was first afterwards that the synth came back and played for real this time. I like the main melody of it, you will just have to listen to it two times to get into the dark and rough music style BD and mp is pulling here. Although I got annoyed of the scratchy noise the instruments gave off, I still couldn't help myself but bobbing my head back and forth. Seems like the beats fulfilled their duty. Cool remix dudes. Always nice to see some piece of electronica arts around here.
  21. Man, thuis remix is awesome in my opinion. It's somewhat between popmusic and jazz, and its happy feeling it extrudes just makes me smile. None of the instruments doesn't make annoying noises, there's piano in it (oh yes ), and of course other nice samples to make this track even better. I haven't many complaints about this, even the loop is great since you can't hear when itstarts over again. I just wish I've played this game. Awesome work Diggi, awesome indeed.
  22. I just searched through the list of remixes and just had to review this one, I have never heard of this game but only the name of it fascinates me. Sadly, I cannot say likewise about the remix. I get the jazzy feeling that this song extrudes, but the quality of the instruments might cut some joy from it. It's a decent track, but it sounds like if it has been brought directly out a SNES game. Not a bad thing, but I felt that this remix could've been better, that's all. Good points about it is as I said the feeling with it. Not only jazzy, but also some sort of underwater prescense. Solid remix, maybe I'll check out JazzFlight's other remix too. Nice stuff.
