  1. Boom-Pow!!!
  2. I want a Distant Mountain remix.
  3. At least in Japan, they're selling enough of these oldie-compilations to warrant an AoF, two FF, two KoF, a SS and a LB compilation (all of them feature online play, btw).
  4. Heh, a friend of mine is going to send me the Garou Battle Archives Vol.2 (including Real Bout, Real Bout Special and Real Bout 2) next week, along with some other fighting games. Good times ahead. Coop: I think EazyP was referring to the AoF collection, not the MS one.
  5. I own the original PS1 version as well as the PSP Suikoden 1+2 Compilation. Great stuff; one of my favourite RPGs of all time. The only Suikoden that came close to part 2 was 5. And just as Oddllama said, S3 wasn't bad. Yes, the partner-battle system was very weird, but I liked the possibility to experience the story from three different viewpoints, and the fact that the level of your characters actually influenced their performance in the war battles. Also, I really really like Thomas' sidestory.
  6. Nice, powerful high-energy song. As pointed out above, this is the kind of music you want to listen to when it get's all violent and ugly in a video game (and seriously, don't we all want it to get violent and ugly sometimes?).
  7. While not exactly my cup of coffee, I do acknowledge the quality of this piece. The voice sounds just fine to me, and I think it's a great idea to make a song like this one. The thing that irks me a bit about it is the missing of any melody, or let's rhythm, until 2:12 when the drums come in. This moment, the whole thing improves quite a bit.
  8. Wonderful, isn't it?
  9. Honestly, I've always had the feeling that this part of the forum existed for the sole purpose of keeping requests of noobs out of gendisc and other parts of the forum.
  10. -very nice piano, though I think it is a little too loud. -what the hell is that distorted punch-FX or whatever? Doesn't sound any good to me. -slow part from 1:39 is pretty good; I like the synth (?!?) that comes in here; works very well with the rest of the mix. Overall, I like the approach you took, and I hope you continue working on this song.
  11. Putfile sucks. Just wanted to say that. The song could use a little more variation. While you have slowdowns like the one with the piano or the sorta guitar solo close to the beginning, the rest of the song sounds somewhat monotonous. In my opinion, this is because the bass guitar playing in the background plays the same stuff over and over again. Two other things: -more choir, and make it more audible -good ending.
  12. Bitch and whine about samples and mastering all you want, but I really enjoyed this remix. Sure, it's not a perfect sounding orchestra remix, or another guitar-shredding one; however, it sounds exactly what a remix from an oldskool game like Art of fighting should sound like. Simply put, it still sounds like a song you'd find in a videogame like AoF, and I dig that. Energetic, upbeat, a little chip-tunish; good combination. It could've been a little longer, though.
  13. Some interesting names in there. I shall check it out.
  14. Pretty sweet mix. Nice idea to speed it up, and the voice samples are used in a most amusing way. The only things sounding not that good to me are the transitions at 0:50 and 1:05 (the former more than the latter).
  15. You know about their other mix, right? http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01411/
  16. Another quality remix by sephfire. Although it's five and a half minutes, it seems to be too short and makes me listen to it over and over again, and that should tell you how good it is. It simply keeps the listener's interest for the whole time, which is something rather rare for a song that's basically soundscape. The drums, the speed, everything about this song makes it awesome. Again, good work.
  17. What do you need thanks for; you make music because you want to, need to, have to... UNTS UNTS UNTS So yeah, fucking great song, I really dig it. It's fast, it's dark, it's bad. Dumbshit always seemed a bit too muddy/full to me, but this hits the nail right on the head. Moar plz.
  18. This remix reminds me somewhat of Joshua Morse and po!'s Watermelon Flava; however, because of the too loud beat, it's just not as chilled and laid back as the aforementioned song. Nonetheless, this is nice work. As someone mentioned before, the SFX used give this track a nice, retro atmosphere, and I really dig that. The only thing bothering me a bit is the end; it's just too abrupt.
  19. NoppZ second song since he came back, and at least for me, the second winner. It is cheesy, it is upbeat, it goes right into your ear and stays there for the rest of the day (thanks to the "Don't hold back the music" sample); it just fits the DDR mood perfectly. As other people have mentioned, it is nice to see remixers take songs into directions no-one would expect. Great job on this one, and I really do hope that you'll submit more songs to OCR.
  20. There was a decent remix on VGMix. And there's still the one on OLR...
  21. He also coded the title theme of Speedball 2 for the Amiga version IIRC. Man, those were good times. Rest in peace.
  22. Nice work. It really does have a movie-score-ish atmosphere to it, and I can definitely see why you would associate the music of the far east with it. However, the first point I mentioned is also the song's weak point. Movie scores (usually) tend to stay in the background, improving the atmosphere. For a stand alone song, however, this doesn't really work. What I want to say is that I really miss some kind of climax in this one. Which is really sad, considering that the drums had a lot of potential for some mad crescendo...
  23. The vocals are top-notch, but that is to be expected when pixietricks sings. While I really dig her voice, I have some gripes with the music and some of the effects. In my opinion, the whispering in the background does not fit the romantic atmosphere, and I don't see the point in the faster section starting at 3:05. Don't get me wrong, I like this section, but it just doesn't really gel with the rest of the song. Dunno, it makes the 3 minutes before that seem like an elaborate intro... This review might sound more negative than it actually is. I just want to say that it is a good song with awesome vocals; however, it could have been a better song with awesome vocals.
  24. Nice, upbeat song. Fits perfectly for a fun game like the PW series. Now I hope that there'll be more remixes from the series; I especially liked the theme playing whenever the court started a session in PW1.
