Most of it is just the negative portrayal in the media. Sure, it can get very offensive with all the blood and gore and death in the (barely intelligible) lyrics, but no more so than the average bitches 'n hoes in mainstream hiphop IMO. Black Metal on the other hand basically requires that the lyrics are anti-christian/pagan/whatever, which is why the existence of Christian Black Metal bands is hilarious to me [/end nerdrage]

+1 To the Ibanez RG crowd, the RG 2570 I own is an amazing guitar that has yet to disappoint me (After I've put in new pick-ups, the Dimarzio IBZ are a bit too bland for my taste). Great playability and value IMO.

That's if you use some cheap knock-off. An Ibanez Edge Pro bridge is like rock-solid, and I know that because I do stuff like bending up three semitones and using whammy bar vibrato (this is also a good recipe for a broken string :3). Problem is, when the string DOES break, all your other strings crap out as well, but meh, that's pretty much the only occassion where my axe goes out of tune.

I find the existence of Christian Black Metal even more hilarious/ironic. Anyway, I've pretty much completely stopped listening to OCRemixes that aren't wips that get posted in #ocrwip, but I do have some of the all-time OCR classics on my MP3 :3

While I do have to say that it's hilariously ironic that someone who calls himself The Guitar Hero has to rely on sampled guitars, I have to agree with Sixto. If you definitely, above all else, need something that sounds as close to the real deal as possible, then yes, $400 and 60 Gigs is a better bargain than a real guitar and the amount of time you need to spend learning to play it (Not to mention the recording equipment you'd have to buy).

Check out Anikiti's Super Demo World and Luigi's Adventure. MUCH BETTER LEVEL DESIGN and it's extremely challenging (though not to the degree of Kaizo Mario World). Well I think that holds true for most celebrity guitars, but the better Ibanez JEM's (Steve Vai signature models) really are godly (In terms of craftmanship, hardware, playability etc. they're like the Ibanez RG series on steroids), and possibly the only signature guitars I wouldn't mind playing, just because they look really badass as well.

A good bet might be some kind of audio to midi conversion program (I don't know if there are any good ones out there, but I read about this stuff in Computer Music, so it must be usable to at least some degree) and use it to create your songs. You'd have to find another solution for gigs though
